Talk to me about Frontier Airlines

With all that has happened with Direct Air, I am very nervous to book with Frontier. Now I understand Direct Air was a charter company which is not the case with Frontier. All of the prices I am seeing for tickets beginning of Sept are aroung $280-300r/t pp...Frontier is $180 r/t pp with seat assignments. I am not concerned about checked luggage as we do not usually check any.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't book with Frontier? Also, would anyone know of a travel insurance that would cover our flights should an airline go under?
