So I have had POR-R booked since February. I also had a list of backup reservations for when free dining came out. I listed everything except CBR. Wanna guess what was left when the TA called? Yes, CBR.

Because of the bed size, I have not even looked at it. My aunt is on the heavy size.

What are the perks?

We'll be staying at CBR for free dining too. Some of the perks I have found are....
(keep in mind we've only ever stayed value) :thumbsup2
-close to epcot and Hollywood studios
-close to epcot=close to monorail
-nice rooms with double sinks
-pool with waterslide
-great landscaping
-Table and Counter service restaurants
-water play area ( if you have kids)
-quiet pool in each village
-each village has it's own bus stop
-beach volleyball
-buildings only two stories tall(not a lot of stairs to climb)

I absolutley LOVE CBR!

I think it had a great food court with lots of options, and I love Old Port Royale!

The pool is great and there are several pools w/o slides around the property, these are much quieter if you need to decompress.

I personally love walking out of my door and being outside (not in a hallway and having to go down elevators and through lobbies).

Theming is sweet, its like being on a tropical vacation at Disney.

We enjoyed sitting outside in the morning eating breakfast, and then enjoying a snack outside of OPR at night.

If you do not get a preferred room, there can be a lot of walking involed, but the grounds are beautiful.

I can't say enough good things about CBR. LOVE it there!

This exactly!

We stayed at CBR many times. In fact it was the first onsite hotel we stayed at. I have to agree with the other posters. Also there is a rail with really pretty material that you can pull across the vanity area for privacy. We found this invaluable as we had little kids at that time. The resort is beautiful and OPR has a lot of food options. Since your aunt is of size I would try to get into one of the closer buildings without getting into a premium building to minimize the walking. I do have to agree about the beds though. It is now the only mod that still has double beds. I hope that changes soon. We booked POFQ for our Christmas trip because of the bed size at CBR. DH and I would be very uncomfortable sleeping together in a double bed. Queen we can do but double is just too close quarters for us. I think you will like CBR. My kids still talk about it. The pool is pretty cool too. It is patterned after a Spanish fort. I would look at a resort map, decide what building you think you would like and ask to be put in that building. Disney wont guarantee it but they will do everything possible to grant your wishes.

Thanks everyone :)

I checked out the reservation better- we have a pool/water view, and my TA requested building 24, which I think from looking at websites, is a preferred building (not sure we will get it, but it would be nice being closer to the big pool).

Has anyone ever rented a cot? A few places list it as a possibility. My youngest is 11, and has some sensory issues associated with her autism- she hates sleeping in a bed with someone. I was figuring we would end up making her a small bed on the floor somewhere, I had not considered cots or rollaways, I didn't think they had them.

If your TA requested Building 24 then you will get a preferred room because you are paying for it. You can't request a preferred room without paying for it. They do have roll away's. I would have it noted on your reservation that you need one and why. I can't see Disney not honoring it when it is for medical reasons.

We are listed onthe reservations a water view, which is the same price as the preferred- that's why I said I wasn't sure if we would actually get it.

I hadn't thought to bring the roll away up as a medical need. She definitely has spacial issues- she hates when someone is sharing her "private" space like that it's one thing when someone is awake and she can ask them to move away, or she can move herself. It's far different when she is trying to sleep ad someone is too close.
