Taking suggestions - What would you like know about Disneyland?

You always hear so much discussion/ideas of the best time to go to WDW, but you don't hear that much about DL, seems like the only thing I hear is that it's always really crowded, so are there any less crowded times to go? When?

I like the idea of off site hotel reviews too. Especially the really close options that you walk to the park from.

Maybe you could set up interviews with DL CMs and broadcast them on the podcast. For example, I think an interview with the legendary Oscar from The Carnation Cafe would make for an excellent podcast. We met him in 2007 and he was a complete gentleman. During my trips to DLR, I've met many longtime CMs that probably have a lot to say that would be of interest to Disney fans.

Things like this are actually on our long term agenda. I love Oscar - he's one of my favorite folks there. I have a great photo of the two of us. Stay tuned - you never know what we will bring you!

Keep those ideas coming!

How do you get into club 33?
Can we start a petition to bring Strombolli's back?
Is there room for another Disney hotel or DVC?
Thanks,
Mike

DH and I are coming to DL for the half marathon in Sept, so I like the idea of things to do for couples only. We are also going to be celebrating our 35th anniversary, so I'd like some suggestions about where would be a good place to get a great anniversary meal. We checked into the DL hotel for the first night of our honeymoon in 1976 on our way to Hawaii, so we will be staying there again.

Also, how about giving info (pros and cons) about the various airports that are available to fly into. I know that there is not a Magical Express like at WDW for transportation, but I could use a refresher about how to get from point A to point B.

Also, just wanted to say I am really enjoying the DL segments of the podcast now that we have this trip to look forward to! Thanks so much!!!

I think discussing the differences between a WDW vacation vs one at DLR is a topic that could span a few podcasts. We just recently returned from a trip to DLR after years and years of vacationing at WDW and it was like night and day. I think one thing that surprised me most was how different the monorail at DLR is from the one at WDW. Not only the design, but the fact that (and was unaware at the time) I had to fold up my 2 strollers and also the fact that it doesn't go to the front of the two parks but drops you off in Tomorrowland. I know that things like this seem like a 'no brainer' to those of you who frequent DLR, but to those of us who are WDW vets it's like culture shock.

That being said I had a GREAT time and can't wait to go back. WoC was AMAZING. - that could be another topic...the differences in viewing areas and what you need to do to get into them. We booked the WoC picnic package thinking that it was the same as the WoC dining package and were caught off guard when we were sent to the yellow FP entrance instead of the dining entrance.

Also a podcast about the different hotels in the area. Staying onsite vs offsite and which is the best choice for both. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and I cannot tell you... it was just wonderful. And THANKS to this podcast for telling me which tower to request.. we were steps from Downtown Disney and the newly refurbished room was spacious and beautiful!!

BTW... Was there no Disneyland podcast this week? :-(

We've been doing them every other week.....this is is an "other" week. ;)

There some great ideas here (and some nasty castle comments). Thanks everyone.

Patience Tom. Soon Shanghai DIS'ers are going to be asking WDW peeps why their castle is so small.

Of course they will also asking DL peeps why their castle is a miniature. :rotfl:

How about vegetarian/vegan dining options? That could fit in with a podcast segment on gluten-free dining or dining with allergies.

Reviews of tours available at both parks throughout the year. Are there special tours during halloween & christmas? All the info ya know, prices, length of tour, walking time etc. All the goodies!

Our castle may be small, but that's okay. Walt picked it out himself. :)

I like your thinking. :) I love walking around DL and imagining Walt having been there. I am excited to see Disneyland again!!!

Also, Aurora's castle dates from a different place and time than Cinderella's. (heard from an imagineer on the EBTA cruise 2010)

Off site hotels

Solo traveler ideas

Tours (I've done Walk in Walt's Footsteps it was cool) I remember one around Halloween that had as a requirement being able to ride Tower of Terror (it was sold out the time I was there).

Dining - the quick service things which are unique (asparagus wrapped in bacon comes to mind). Places you don't need reservations (for solo traveler doing a quick visit who needs to eat)

Overlooked attractions by solo adults - (like Casey Jr. and Storybookland Boats, Autopia)

Some of above may be better blogs than podcasts

ok - brain out of ideas .:goodvibes

I think you need a special segment on Cheshire Cat Tails vs. Tigger Tails. In fact, I'll volunteer to be your sugary treat specialist! :X

I like the "then and now" idea that was suggested. I'd like to hear reviews of all the tours they offer and maybe the spa at Grand California.

When we were in socal last year we appreciated your review of Rocking Baja off property and ate there. I think lot's of people head to the beach in the OC or visit other areas when they go to DL so off property reviews are nice.

man, I could really go for a baja bucket right now!

Oh, and I want to find out how I can get back there again real soon. I'm needing a little pixie dust today!
