Well, I respect you all more than I already did before! I had every intention of taking a picture of everything we ate, but it was difficult for me to remember. We were either ready to eat or just too tired to care at some places. I did take some pictures, so I'll share what I got.
DH and I had the first part of our trip to ourselves the 3 kids and my Ma and Pa join us later in the week.
I like the rating systems used by somes so mine will be as follows:
= Yummy! - When can we go back?
= Good. - Let's visit again soon.
= Been There, Done That, Won't be back! (For quite a while anyway).
Sunday, October 5th - Mama Melrose:
This was our arrival day and after setting up the TT and getting organized and then showered and ready to go we were ready to EAT.
We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our ADR time of 7:20. The restaurant seemed busy/crowded with a small feeling of disorganization. We were determined to relax this vacation so we just found a place to stand out of the way and eventually a seat. After being there for 30 minutes we were offered a small two-top table by the kitchen door. I explained this would not due and we were given a booth/chair table which worked out fine.
We were hungry so we ordered drinks and the bread and spreads. I had a Vodka drink with juice and a flashing ice cube. It was okay but I do not like sweet drinks so one was enough. DH had a Blue Moon, which we enjoy.
Our bread appetizer arrived:
It was dark and I could not figure out how to use the flash. So this is the only picture taken here. I wish we could have waited for something else. The "artisian" bread was sub-par. I hate it when they give you stale, dried up bread and call it artisian. Bit Disappointing. However there was a whole head of roasted garlic that we did gobble up.
Entrees:
Me - I had the Butcher Steak which was very good. It was cooked to my liking, medium rare and it had great flavor from the grill they use. If you're looking for a good steak at Disney - Here's one.
DH - Spicy Sausage with Maranara Sauce. To quote Rick, "It was okay". If you were to ask me, I like spicy things but this was a little too over the top and I'm not thrilled with tomato sauce lately.
Desserts:
We could not decide on desert Rick wanted the Tiramisu and I wanted the Ricotta Cheesecake.
We ordered the cheesecake
Our very nice waitress also brought us the tiramisu with a "Happy Anniversary" wish. Nice thing #1. Both deserts were good.
Neither was traditional. The Tiramisu was missing the coffee soaked ladyfingers, the cake was wrapped around what seemed to be mostly whipped cream.
The cheesecake was round. It was supposed to have blood orange sauce, which was only a drizzle and not very flavorful but the cheesecake itself was quite tasty. I do like my cheesecake just a little moister than this was but I would order it again.
The atomosphere was nice with twikling lights and a rustic Italian Restaurant feel. But, the service was almsot robot like.
Our waitress was very nice and upbeat but she was late to check on us when we received our food so it was a little frustrating needing something before you could really enjoy your dinner. Like a drink or a condiment.
Mama Melorse Overall Rating =
Up next, F&W Food Booths or "We spent what on tastings!?"
