:sad1: Dont think we are going to Disney next year. Hubby wants to do something else. I must admit I dont get the same thrill with the rides since we have been going every year for the past 6 yrs. I still love Disney, but I am finding it hard to come to terms to not going to Disney and Florida next year. We are planning on seeing some of the Mediterranean - Majorca, Spain and Italy. These are places that we have never been to, which is quite exciting, but I cant stop thinking about Florida. in 2009 I would like to go to Belize, Grand Canyon and Colorado. But that means 2 yrs away from Disney:eek:

Maybe you can watch for a 'deal' on lodging (or stay off site) and cheaper airfare (if that's what you use) and sneak in a short trip?

Kind of an unstructured getaway? :confused3

You'll love all the foreign travel!

But I know what you mean, longing for a Disney vacay, too! :cloud9:

I'd take the Mediterranean trip over Disney any day. :goodvibes

DH and I have been looking into doing one of the Adventures by Disney http://abd.disney.go.com/abd/en_US/...nGoogle&HBX_PK=adventures+by+disney&HBX_OU=50. They go all over the world and to places in the U.S.

We don't have kids, and they mark an occasional trip as being for those 18 years old and over. We haven't ever done one, but we are considering doing the California one that includes a few days of behind the scenes Hollywood stuff, including tours of the Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Imagineering, Jimmy Kimmel, Jim Henson Company Studio, Disneyland, etc.

Anyway - that would be a way to see something besides WDW, but still be a sort of Disney-related vacation.

Nothing wrong with not going to disney and seeing other parts of the country you haven't seen. I would take places I haven't seen already over disney any day! Don't get me wrong I love going to disney but there are so many other places out there to visit as well. You will have fun wherever you go I'm sure!

I am not sure where you live or how far it is to get to Florida, but maybe you could do a trip to Florida without disney being at the center of it. Try going to Miami and the Keys or to Vero Beach (okay...a disney resort), the Everglades, perhaps Universal, etc. Depending on how long your trip is you could also plan a short trip to disney just to satisfy your "itch".

Florida has a lot of wonderful things to see and do that are not in Orlando. Mix it up a little. Try Boca Raton where I live, great hotels, beaches, restaurants and shopping.

Good luck. I live 2.5 hours away from disney and have gotten a bit tired of the rides, etc. So when we go we enjoy the resorts (swimming, spas, the Food and Wine festival, etc) and plan one great sit down meal a day. We don't do the commando ride thing that we used to...and it makes us happy that way.
