taking a 1 year old on a 7 day cruise?

One ear of the Mickey pool is available for little ones in swim diapers. It's kind of a splash area rather than a "POOL" but it's part of the Mickey pool. They just can't go in the main part of the pool. And of course they could play in the ocean on the Beach.

So the little ones in swim diapers aren't completely shut out, just restricted.

Piglet33....How old will Haley be next August?? Will she still be in Flounders?

Haley will be almost 3 when we cruise in August. She'll might still be in Flounders since she probably won't be fully potty trained by then. Maybe we can get the girls together so they "know" each other and won't be as bad to leave them in Flounders. Haley had good moments and bad moments there so you can never tell.

Thanks, that is good to know. I had wrong info before. All a baby needs is a place to splash, one ear would work fine!

So my reasons not to go until the baby is old enough (3 or 4 and potty trained) isn't actually good reasons. Glad I looked at this thread, it put me straight. So I can stop blaming my sweet, perfect, lovely, baby and start blaming my husband! (or really the fact that we have our next 3 WDW trips already planned out.)

BIL and SIL are taking their 1st cruise in April and wanted us to go, but I was thinking we couldn't because of the baby. I guess I was wrong. Too late now, we already have a trip to WDW and Vero Beach planned for the week after they get home.

Thanks for the info. I am really looking forward to our 1st cruise, whenever tat might be.

We just got back from the Magic and had our 18 month old DD with us. She splashed around in the Mickey ear and loved Castaway Cay after she got used to the feel of sand between her toes! She had fun digging with a little toy shovel. We did take a stroller with us and that worked really well. She's our yougest (of 4) and she had a good time just watching the kids splashing in the pool too. We went to the shows every night--she'd fall asleep watching them and also went and saw two movies with her along as well.
One thing that worked well for us was to grab an extra bowl of cereal at breakfast to have on hand for snacking. She also ate lots of fruit. I ordered the All Hands on Deck cheese platter as well as fresh fruit and kept that in our room's refrigerator for her. She was a little scared of the characters but by the end of the cruise would tolerate them from a distance at least!
I would definitely take the trip again in a heartbeat. My DD keeps saying "Water, Mommy" and "Mickey Mouse"!
