I'm booking flights to Miami for a (pre WDW visit) cruise.

According to the American Airlines site a direct flight from London Heathrow to Miami is £660.

There is also a flight from Heathrow to MCO which has one stop (plane change) in Miami and this is only £580 !! :confused3

Does anyone know if can I just not get on the Miami/Orlando sector ? are there any penalties to doing this ? will they make me sit on the wing next time ?

If you don't get on the MCO flight the entire rest of your intinerary will most likely be deleted from their system with no hopes of flying back across "the pond" nor any refund due to you.

The only was this MIGHT work is if you booked a one-way LHR to MCO, through MIA, then a separate return MCO to LHR, assuming that's what you want. But even then they might nab you.

Now there might be a way around this. You say you are going to MIA for a pre WDW cruise, how are you getting to MCO. Maybe you can book the LHR to MCO, with a week layover and still get the same price?

PP is correct.

International flights don't experience the same schedue changes as often domestic flights but what will you do if there is a schedule change. Your flight to MCO connects in NY or PHL instead of MIA? AA decides to start N/S service from London to MCO and you're moved to that flight? Your flight is overbooked and AA decides to accomodate you by ticketing you on another airline with N/S service to MCO?
