We've done Disney a good handful of times with park hoppers. I have never hopped for HS to EPCOT. There is a boat correct? Is that the quickest way to get there? If so how long does it take you to get from one park to the other?

I'm not sure about the quickness but there is a friendship boat between hs and epcot

Walking is quicker than than the boat as it will stop at all the Epcot resorts (including swan/dolphin) before dropping you off at the International gateway for Epcot. You can always take the boat and get off at the swan/dolphin and walk from their if you don’t like the idea of taking the path that leads from DHS to Epcot’s Resort area.

The boat is not the speediest, but the walkway from DHS is a good distance. I'm not sure exactly how long it takes, but I would get off at the boardwalk or yacht & beach(whichever comes first) and walk to the international gateway from there.

I like the boat ride. It's a nice break between parks!!

It's been awhile but if I remember correctly it's about 30 minutes-ish. I know that it was pretty close to the same walking time with a toddler (who wanted to walk that day).

If you're doing RD to close between the 2 parks, I'd totally take the boat!!

Is a bus quicker than the boat? At 4 pm we will leave HS and need to get to EPCOT for dinner 525 at garden grill. I want to have the least amount of rushing. It's going to be a crazy June day on a SWW

1. Yes. Once boarded and underway, the trip to Epcot is about 15 minutes.

HOWEVER, it can still be a long walk from the bus terminal to Epcot's front gates,
then to the land.

2. And, remember (just as with the boat,) you might have to wait for a bus to arrive,
unload and board guests before your drive begins.

BTW, you should have little trouble getting to your ADR in 85 minutes, either way.

The boat ride is great. We have timed it many times both walking and riding. Even at a quick pace, walking will only save you 5-10 minutes, and as a PP mentioned, it is a bit of a hike, and there is not much to see. The ride is great for a short break, especially if it is hot, cold, or rainy! :)

I've found the boat, bus and walking to all potentially take similar amounts of time. If a boat is just pulling in and there is little to no line, it will take about as long as a brisk walk. If the boat has just left, or isn't in sight, walking is usually faster. (Especially if you cut by the scary clown) If you are going to say SE, then the bus will work in your favor since it drops you off there. But going to UK or Morocco, I always find boat/walking to be faster.

Remember, Garden Grill is at the front of EP in Future World. If you take the boat or walk, you'll be entering the back gate near France, so you'll have quite a walk just from the entrance up to The Land. If you take the bus, you'll be at the FW entrance, but it's also quite a hike over to The Land.

On another thread I was told those boats don't have any a/c or windows that open. I have no personal knowledge and I don't know if that would sway you, but stuffy air always sways me.

There is some seating outside on the boats, and I recall open windows inside.

I took the boat for the first time back in February. What they are saying is true, it takes about 20 to 25 minutes to ride it from DHS to Epcot, but, to me it was worth it. It was a beautiful day and a boat ride was nice and it was good to see the resorts up close. But, it did take time, but, the bus will save you very little, if any. I had my car parked at DHS so that meant that I had to go back there too. That did prove to be a bit tedious, but, if I had to take the bus back to my resort anyway, I would go for the boat ride every time. As someone said, it does help out those tired feet.

Coming from Hollywood Studios this week, the captain stopped at Yacht/ Beach and said that if you got off there and walked to Epcot, it would take 5 minutes, but it would take 12 minutes by staying on the boat via Boardwalk.

Okay, with talk of the boat vs walking vs bus, maybe someone can help me with the this possible scenario we are considering! We are coming for a short 3 night trip for the 24 hr MK event in May. We will do Dhs on the Thu before, with Epcot on Sat. This is our second fave park, but with SWW on the weekend at Dhs, we wanna avoid that park on Sat. So, just to get a little taste of EP on Thu, I was considering this scenario, hoping someone can tell me if it's possible to work out well, or more of a disaster better left undone, lol! We land at the airport at 10:35 a.m., and thinking that should put us to Pop by approx. noon. Then we check in and get back to the buses by 1 p.m., and take a bus to Epcot. Not sure how far that is, haven't stayed at Pop before. Then we want to get in to Epcot, go to GS and upgrade our park hoppers to AP's(we want to do this now to get the TIW card to use at our upcoming lunch). Then thought we could go thru Epcot, quickly as we can, to the kiosk in France to grab a grand marnier slushie(and put in our covered mugs as we like to do, lol), then take the boat from the IG over to Dhs for our ressie at 2:50 p.m. at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Does it seem feasible at all or not really? Would it just be better to walk over to Dhs from EP if we still wanna try to go thru there? Or is it better to just go straight to Dhs from Pop and skip trying to go thru EP? I don't wanna be freaking out trying to get to our ADR. What do you think? Totally crazy and not something that would go well? Or definitely doable if things start out on the right foot as far as far as timing on getting to our resort and on the EP bus?

Thx for any thoughts on the timing of all this! Maybe I'm just dreaming, lol, but I'm tryin'! Hmm, as I see it all written out it seems like it could be time consuming!

11. Hmm, as I see it all written out it seems like it could be time consuming!

1. Likely.
2. Maybe. Let's say 1:15PM.
3. Wait for bus, then 10 minutes on the road. (1:35PM)
4. Walk from bus to security, gate, walk to France: Figure 35 minutes. (2:10PM)
5. France to Int'l. Gateway, wait for boat, unload, load guests 20 minutes (2:30PM)
Boat trip 30 min. Disembark, walk to security at DHS. (3:05PM)
Go thru security, gate, walk to restaurant. 10 Min. (3:15PM)
6. Could go either way.
You can be late for your ADR. (Most guests are.) If you're within 20, or so, minutes you should be OK.
7. You could, but it doesn't necessarily save much time.
If you pick up 10-20 minutes in this venture, it's still tight.
8. I would.
9. See above.
10. You will be checking your watch throughout, for sure.
11. Always does.

You can make your determination based on just how early you can get to the bus stop
ready to go to the parks.
