Once at our resort (all star movie) would it be quicker to drive our vehicle to the gate each morning or wait for the wdw bus? What are your thoughts? I assumed we'd take the bus, but I keep reading about waiting in line which got me thinking...

:welcome:

We always drive to all of the parks except for Magic Kingdom, and that's only because it's easier to take the bus because of the location of the parking lot. Driving saves us so much time both going and returning because we don't have to wait for a bus. Plus getting around is lot more comfortable in our SUV instead of the bus. :drive:

To me, a stay onsite is mainly worth it for the transportation. Although I now find better deals at nearby Marriott condos, and love the space of them, driving is the downside! I don't always want to drive on vacation! But I suck it up.

I agree with the PP - at least for the MK I would definitely take the bus. Parking there is a pain.

Going from your resort to another resort, I would drive.

Going to the parks, I would prefer the bus! Maybe a water park, I'd drive (so you can bring more things like dry clothes, towels, maybe snacks, etc...).

Sometimes we used to just go to the bus stop, and whatever bus came first, that was where we would go for the morning. It was a fun game.

My dh hates waiting. BUT...having said that, he has no issues with the buses at WDW. He has been with people that have their cars there, and found that it's nice to be able to drive to DTD, but that's about it.
We really don't mind the buses. My biggest issue with driving around WDW??? Those other drivers that have absolutely no idea where they are going!! It's sometimes death defying when driving around there!!!! People speed...they have no idea where they are going..they make last minute lane changes in order to get off at the desired exit!! Nope, I take the buses.
After many, many stays at WDW, I have found that the buses work just fine. Yes, there have been a few times that I have had longish waits, but I'm on vacation...I have met some terrific people in those lines. Not a big deal.

I recommend driving. You are not a slave to the buses and it's quicker. MK may be the only park where the bus might be quicker since the buses drop you at the entrance to the park and driving can only get you to the TTC.
