Morning!

Oh, another thing about Nancypants. Their son, Griffin, is 6 weeks older than Josh but he is quite a bit bigger. So, if she buys something for Griffin off the clearance rack at The Gap & it doesn't fit him, she wraps it up as a gift for Josh. It's usually some odd color that no one wanted that goes with nothing. She's a barrel of laughs......NOT!

Kirk Cameron, good one. I definitely had a thing for him, too. I also liked Jason Bateman when he was on Silver Spoons.

s&ksmom, is it The Rock?

No not the Rock, Steve Austin, something about those bulging muscle under his t-shirt.

:wave2:
Good Morning. It's nice here today. How's it where you all are?

Did someone say The Rock?

MmmmHmmm. What a hunka!

Sorry I didn't get here sooner and that you had to talk to yourself for so long llebrekniT. It was workout day. Because ohanafamily didn't sleep well - or should I say sleep at all? - I let him sleep in while I went out. It started raining on us (me and trainer) when we were at the half-way point so no sense turning around.

:Pinkbounc So glad to hear that Ella is feeling better. Hey llebrekniT, have you seen commercials for the new Ann Hathaway movie that opens in a couple of weeks. I think of your precious baby everytime I see the commercials for Ella Enchanted. Oh, and I love that pic of the "clean" babies.

to you s&k'smom. I hope with the light of day everything gets better for you.

Thanks for leaving us such a yummy breakfast iluvtink. After that workout this morning I could really use it.

Another thing about Nancy-pants.

DHB and I were throwing a surprise b-day party for her mom, my MIL, on her 60th.

We told Don and Nancypants about it weeks and weeks in advance. Well a couple weeks before the big party, she called up and said that day won't work in with their social calendar, wah, wah, wah. She was having a bday party for Grif the same weekend, how 'bout if we just get Granny her own cake and do her bday with the Grif?

Aaarrrrggghhh! They live about an hour away. We were inviting all of MIL's friends who live where we live. Of course we can't do it at their house. She really just wasn't paying any attention to what we were doing and didn't "get" the whole idea of us giving MIL her own party. She went on and on to me about how we could make a point of the fact that it's granny's bday too, if we did it at her house during Grif's party with lots of screaming 2 year olds. Then she said "look, I'm flexible".

I can't tell you how exasperating that was to hear.

Anyway, we went ahead with the party as planned and they didn't come. Donny clearly could have come by himself at the very least. But Nancy said he was needed at home to drive whatever friends they had over that weekend back to the airport. Why the friends couldn't get a taxi or heaven forbid Nancy drive them herself, I don't know.

DHB put together this very beautiful and moving video of MIL's life with pictures and music. We all cried, it was so great. Then Donny called just as it ended and the first thing MIL said was "it was so great, you should've been here!" She would never fuss at that boy, but you could hear the disappointment in her voice. Again, they only live an hour away, he could have made it and Nancy could have driven the friends back to the airport herself.

Ok, I promise that's it for me ranting about her today.

I guess I'll beat RRBB to this one, but she may not realize this. one of the things that REALLY BUGS HER about my mom is that she gives the gifts to the kids from the family. RRBB likes to pick things out with care and caution, and TLC. Well, My parents are fairly well of, and my eldest Brother has no clue about Gift Giving. Did I mention His DW is a bit of a Nancy-Pants? They are so cheap that they have been known to get blood out of a turnip. Well, My Mom realized this at an early point, and knowing better than to let the kids (theirs) suffer the slings and arrows of Reaping what your parents sew, she took action. Her gifts don't always have a lot of thought in them (sometimes I help, but I don't know the kids that well anymore), but she usually gets all of us something we want and it is a lot nicer than what the rest of my family would give. My middle brother is real nice, but he is into the social stuff and always has several items on the cooker. I am the kind and considerate one!!!

Oh well, I guess I had better get dressed and head into work...
I'll have a Pancake or two first, thanks!!!!!

:bounce:

disneyluvers and s&ksmom, I'm afraid I am going to have to put both of you on my list of people I'm concerned about. (The only other one on there right now is that crazy Weird-nut-goof-ball girl!.)

We may need to have you both into the eye doctor's office and possibly a good pyschiatrist.:scratchin :worried:

No ohanafamily, your SIL is THE ICE QUEEN!!! That may include Nancy-Pants traits but... I guess there's one in (most) every family. Wouldn't it be great if everyone were as nice as us. But then what would we have to complain about?

Hey, Lee majors at least had the fortitude to be married to Farrah!!!

llebreknit, actually I do have a psychiatrist, therapist, prescription, and vitamin drink and it still doesn't help.:p

Ever think of shock therapy....
Just kidding, I couldn't resist...

:jumping2:

Aw, just hear me out, OK?

My DH: Short on top with long, muscled legs. (He wrestled all state before going into the army... think long forced marches. hehe) Deep dark eyes. Gravelly low voice. I could go on but you get the idea. Pant Pant

The Rock: Ditto, except he got paid a whole helluva lot more for what he did and now he's getting paid even more for acting (if you can call it that). Plus he weighs what my DH used to weigh when we met. And to think I told him he was too skinny at the time. Sheesh, what was I thinking...

Anywho, that's why The Rock's a hunk in my book. I never watched him wrestle so I don't know what he did. I did go to the Jaffa when I was little to see Gorilla Monsoon and Andre the Giant but in those days you could get hit with some actual blood. I've just never got into today's wrestling but it would probably be better than the circus to see.

OK. Done now.

Ok, ok. Enough with the "isn't he dreamy?" girly girl talk ladies.

Geesh!
Yeah, didn't we already go through this hunk talk, with pictures, a while back. (I think ohanafamily is really bored, at least he better be!!!)

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm shock therapy, can I just stick a fork in the electrical socket?

Thanks for thinking of my last night pals. I went to bed in the depths of despair, but I woke up this morning to 59 degrees, so I am...like...so over those orange dudes. :bounce: I actually was able to walk the dogs for 1.5 miles this morning--IN SHORTS!!! I think I scared the neighbors with my white legs.

BTW, I'm also bummed that Pittsburgh lost. So I am now officially a Connecticut fan. Go Huskies!!!

I've gotta go. A gentleman that Rob is going to be working with is here, and I have to go meet him. See ya in a bit.

Good Morning everyone, I am running low on Wonkas...

"Hello, Chocolate Truck company...Send over the usual!!!!!

Yes, charge it to ohanafamily."
Click!

Let me see, the Hottest Dragon movie star I remember was in Shreck, but she is way too old for me...I like human girls better anyway...They are softer to snuggle with...

Youngin Crushes: Jack Wagner and John Schnieder (aka Dukes Of Hazzard blondie man)

In Laws- I completely relate with Nancypant's way except at least there are gifts for the kids.

My DH's stepsisters don't acknowledge my kids and they never get gifts or cards (except Christmas). There are 4 of them......two did not come to Grants 1st BD party, three of them did not come to his 2nd BD party, didn't have a 3rd and his 4th was incorporated into the Easter Egg Hunt at my MIL's, her suggestion so it wouldn't be inconvenient for me (yeah, THEM to come) to have another party.

No one bought poor Tye a gift at birth  no phone call to me, no card or anything. In fact, they did not see him for the first time until he was almost 3mo's old at another family gathering (the Easter Egg Hunt/Grant's Birthday party). All of them came to his 1st BD party.

Won't have any other family parties where they are invited! EVER! Now, we have a birthday dinner with my folks and when Tye is 5, he can have a kids party.

My MIL has a bday party every year for my two nephews, DH's adopted sister (both kids different fathers/one she was married to, the other a one night stand from a bar and oh...it was while she was married ::yes:: ).

My DH's adopted sister came to my house for our Christmas with DH and her dad and step mom, one time I decided to do it as DH's da has cats I am allergic to. That was the LAST time I ever had it. I had food and all and when she finished eating, she said "We got the eating thing done, let's get to the gifts so we can leave." When gift giving came about, there were NO GIFTS for DH or me (no kids at that time). She said "The store was all out." :earseek: All out? What did she stop on the way to get some milk or something?

We live 20 min from both DH's dad/stepmom and mom/stepdad, and I have said this before, they are in good health and we have lived in our house for 7yrs and his dad has probably been over 5 times total, his mom 7. One time, I snidely said something in conversation about them not knowing where we live.

WHATEVER! I could go on.......::yes:: Needless to say, holidays are miserable. NOW....moving to FL would be a breath of fresh air.

Another good one.....DH's step sister moved into a house and she was working on finishing the basement for her boyfriends 4 kids and she had a party.....are you ready for this....................it was a Basement Finishing Party with no food or drink, for the guys.
