Hmmmm... I see shades of GH from days gone by. (Grant Putnam/Celia Quartermaine)
Used to watch GH with my mom as a kid, don't care for it much anymore. I do remember those characters, but certainly not where the names came from. Never even thought of that. If I wanted to name someone after a GH star it would have to be Frisco.....love that man. Saw him in concert and have his tapes.....did I say LOVE that man. WOWZER!

YUMMY!

oh I hope I don't start a fight but Mr. Wagner is now on the Bold and the Beautiful and well I don't like him. Sorry but can't stand his charactor.

When I was pregnant and told my sister that I liked the name "Hillary", she said to me "Isn't that a bit pretentious?" She has a daughter named Cecilia.

Hellooooooo??? :scratchin

Back to the holiday thing. Last Christmas morning, Rob and I were sitting around in our PJ's drinking coffee and fantasizing "Wouldn't it be nice if we could just sit here all day and not have to be anywhere." We wanted to do like in the movie "A Christmas Story" and drink wine in our pajamas while the kids passed out under the tree. :teeth:

QOTD: No not a problem splitting time on holidays with family.

By the time ohanafamily and I got married both my sisters and their families lived elsewhere. I know, however, that even if they didn't we'd be expected to spend every holiday with ohanafamily's family - that's EVERY holiday, birthdays, etc! But I have an excuse not to spend Passover with his family - I keep Passover (dietary restrictions) and they don't.

So when we first got married, or was it right before, I insisted that ohanafamily spend that one holiday with me and my family. I even went so far as to put together a speadsheet outlining when we spend time with his family and when we spend time with mine (just in case MIL gave me a hard time.) So next week we're flying down to S.A. for a few days of cooking (me) and relaxing (ohanafamily) for Passover. Yippee, the one holiday a year that we don't have to spend it with the in-laws!!!:Pinkbounc

Yeah, I would be labeled even more of a controlling ***** if I put a spreadsheet together. They all think my DH is guided like a dog by me as it is. They have no clue, do you see how this can be stressful? What do you think is gonna happen when we move? YIKES.....I will really be yanking the chain.

ohanafamily DO NOT READ THIS POST!!!!!

Okay, I'll fess up, too. I used to have a thing for Frisco. Loved his music, too. Went out and bought the albums. (They're around here somewhere. Maybe I'll go dig them out later. ;)) What a hottie, at least I thought so 15-20 years ago.

Oh, they think that about me, too. But in order to make my point about wanting to spend at least one holiday with MY family, I had to spell it out in black and white. Now, after about 4 years, it's a given. But if we ever have kids I'm sure it will become an issue with MIL.

Gets worse with kids...............YIKES.

I do not like the facial hair on his Bold and Beautiful character. But, hey.........He's All I Need. Can you believe I saw him in concert? I was like 14 or 15. I loved him on Melrose Place.

BTW....I love the name Perry.

I finally caught up! (except for 1 post I was asked to skip...)
Nieceosaurus, you never answered about your favorite Soaps....

Kismetdreams, beautiful Wedding picture, we want the details....Also, we are doing a swap that is closed, but Nieceosaurus thought you might want in, so she signed up for it thinking that you might want her place.

Let us know. We figured that the wedding plans overshadowed thoughts of the swap, we wanted to make sure you had the option.

Joe, Great seeing you on the boards! Don't be a stranger...

No word from the doc yet, but I really don't expect to hear anything til this afternoon. I know I don't have the only sick child in the world, thanks for letting me rant on about it here.

I think the worst part of having a sick kid is trying to decide--Should I take him to the doctor? Should I wait? What if he gets sicker over the weekend... Hopefully things will start looking up now. :D Here is something for you to think about: Gravy burns and brown polyester uniforms that smell like fried food. :teeth:

QOTD:Do you have problems with splitting holidays with different sides of the family?

Yes, I'm glad that part is done and we will know something soon. The "should I take her" part is what I've been wrestling with so much. I took her the first day she was sick, the 6th day and again the 10th day. Now I'm wondering whether every time I took her in, she caught some other nasty germ in the office. I feel like a bad mom if I take her and I feel like a bad mom if I don't. I just want her all better. She's taking a nap now and has been playing all morning. Still won't eat much, still full of congestion. But she took her med's and didn't throw them up this time.:bounce:

OMG - is there a worse uniform in the world, ever? Stiff, scratchy and BROWN, BROWN, BROWN Oh and that dumb little hat! One thing I remember that is a very fond memory is that they had to order in a tiny uniform because I only weighed 112 when I started working and they didn't have any that would fit me. Ahhhh, the good ol' days. Gravy burns are the worse! You can't shake that stuff off, it just hangs in there and burns and burns and burns!

Your QOTD: Splitting holidays is a chore we live with. It's so hard. I feel so selfish, but just once I would love to do exactly what we want to do on a holiday. Not that I don't want to see my families, but in all the rushing around to this place and that, it just becomes a chore sometimes instead of a holiday.

Christmas Eve is always with DH's family and Christmas Day is mine. Usually Easter morning at DH's and Easter dinner with mine. But this year DHB is working Easter morning and there ain't no way she's getting out of visiting with Nancy-pants and the brats and leaving me alone to deal with it. So I suggested moving that one to Easter Eve. So I'm looking more forward to Easter this year than usual. We won't be so rushed all day long.

Where is everyone? :( I'm alone in the office today. It's slow. I'm bored. And my jeans are too tight. :(

I want to be in Disney World.

ohanafamily, I am so in! Thank you so much for thinking of me and allowing me to join! :) I'm so excited! :)

Everyone, I promise to post full recaps of the wedding! :) I have a few typed out on my DisneyMooners that I will transfer over and then once we get my name legally changed with the US Air Force (today), I will diligently sit don and type out the whole thing!
