QOTD: Nope, I'm not a smoker. I have before when I was in college. I found that if I was out partying & smoked a couple of cigarettes I felt 10 times worse than if I stayed away from the cancer sticks. Lots of my friends smoked & my dad smoked up until about 10 years ago. Lucky Strikes, non-filter. He quit when he had walking pneumonia for months & couldn't kick it. The doctor said "if you don't quit now, in 5 years you will have wished you had". That was enough for him. Never smoked another.

Doesn't bother me that you & Joe do, except that I worry about your health. I'm not sure, but I don't think they are very good for you.

I have never smoked--I not diagnosed as an asthmatic, but close enough. I hate the smell it leaves on people's clothes and furniture. My house is non-smoking generally-except my next-door neighbor and her sister did smoke here once. No lecture given--since she loan us her steam carpet vac for the day.

So you will quit, won't you? When? What's your plan? Cold turkey? Patches? Other types of addictions?

BTW, I have never, ever smoked anything in my entire life. I did try one time. I took one of my mom's ciggies down into the basement and lit it up. I put up to my lips and I didn't know how to do it. So I squashed it and never tried again.

My DH has gotten better, but he has been really hard on Daniel at times. He loves coaching him and Daniel loves him being a coach, but there are times....

Plan on using the patch. It worked like a charm a couple of years back. Helped me quit for a year and half. But Joe was still smoking at the time so I fell right back into it. Bad Joe! Bad, bad Joe!

As for chocolate, yeesh, no. When I quit the last time, I put on weight. I don't need any help in that category! I need to remain as positively dreamy as possible!!! LOLOL!

You, my friend, sound like my brother. Some people think he should vote Democrat because he's gay What a stupid reason to vote! Anyway, he says what they do with his $$ is far more important than what they think of his lifestyle. He's never considered it a political issue, either....which I think is good. I don't use my marriage as a political statement...why should a gay couple? Would kinda diminish the relationship in my book....

Non-smoker here. Made my DH quit before I'd date him. Sorry. Really hate it. But, I'm not going to try to get you to quit.....that's your decision. DH was talking marriage so I made my one and only ultimatum. Now he thinks he can start 'cause I won't leave....but he doesn't 'cause he realizes I can make his life a living hell!

I grew up with 2 smokers for parents and can't stand the smoke, the bad breath, the smell that everything in my mom's house takes on, the film on the windows, the smell in the car, the smell on the smoker's clothes, the smell on anyone's clothes who has been around them, and the dirtiness of the ashes...YUCK! DH, now smoke-free for 10 years, is just as bad as I am

I can and do go out and ignore it in bars, etc.....but I prefer to sit non-smoking if it's available.
