Deadheadbelle, would you be interested in starting a club with me? The Mother Earth Club or something like that. For women with no fingernails (or dirty fingernails) who like to camp and drink beer and listen to loud music? You can't own one of those dresses OR bags that the princesses were talking about. (Actually, I've never even heard of the designer. ) You must own at least one pair of Birkenstocks. And you can't have a problem with going to the grocery store without mascara on. ::yes::

I'll join your club. I've had one manicure (the day before my wedding-paid for by my maid of honor), never had a pedicure. I love to camp & I love beer. As long as I can pick the tunes, I'll listen to 'em loud. I don't own a Lily Pulitzer dress, but my DMIL bought my daughter a pair of pink Lily Pulitzer overalls with a matching t-shirt (cost- $100!!!). Yep, she's nuts. She paid $100 for an outfit for a 1 year old. I do own a Vera Bradley diaper bag & purse (both were gifts, diaper bag was a gift from co-workers; purse was a gift from DMIL). I own a pair of Birkenstocks & a couple pair of Naot sandals (kind of like Birkenstocks but I think a little better made). hmm, let's see I don't think I have EVER been to the grocery store WITH mascara. Nope, I never wear make-up. NEVER! The only time in the last 10 years that I wore any make up was at DSIL's wedding in December & that was only because I had had surgery 10 days before & needed to cover up the scar! That's right ladies (& gents), I didn't even wear make up to my own wedding. Do I get to be in your club??

Hey KADATEN sistah! That WAS a great deal. Did you hear about my great deals at Kohl's last weekend?

Two throw pillows @ $9.99 each (reg. $18.99)
One small rug @ $9.99 (reg. $19.99)
One med. rug @ $19.99 (reg. $39.99)
One cute cotten tee with pic of flip flops @ $5.00
One Erika sundress @ $24.99 (reg $40.00)
One CD for Rob @ $5.00
Forgot the rest.

In any event, after signing up for a charge card and another 15 percent off from the secret sale, I got about $150 worth of stuff for $65! :Pinkbounc
I did that at a mall store a few weeks ago....between the coupons and 15% off and another coupon and gift check, got $320 of stuff for $150!! Gotta love a good deal ::yes::

I've never heard of those designers either but I figured it was because I am English. I think I am kind of pampered princess and kind of not!! I love my Macys and Bloomingdales dresses (that is quite a talking point over here as we don't have those stores) plus I love my Harrods dress. I only wear Clinique make up (but only buy it when there is a bonus time on as you buy 2 items and get about £50 worth of free make up and creams etc.), over here Clinique is quite expensive. I only buy levi or CK jeans and reebock or sketchers trainers. Plus I only stay in 4+ star hotels. But I don't wear make up every day (only for nights out), I happily buy clothes at my local supermarket for summer (vest tops, skirts etc), and can drink beer with the boys (OK maybe not beer, perhaps a glass of wine!) My DH says I am high maintainence but I don't think so (well may be sometimes!!)
Oh and I don't have nice finger nails (OK, I bite them:eek: ) and like to work in the garden. So what does that make me?!?

Barb Can I join you club half-way? I have nails, but they're pretty thin and often torn, never painted except at my wedding. I *do* get pedicures about 3-4 times a year (in a good year) but that's mostly so SOMEONE will rub my feet :) The nice polish is a bonus ::yes:: I hardly ever wear make-up....weddings, funerals, formal occasions, that's it. Like to camp (but sorry...never learned to like beer....learned to drink it in college, but not like it) and I'll listen to darn near anything, loud or not. I don't have any Lilly Puliltzer dresses, but I must admit to owning some Vera Bradley bags...all gifts or hand-me-downs, though! The one I bought was a $15 knock-off ::yes:: Oops...don't have any Birkenstocks. Usually just a pair of open-toe leather slides in warm weather and closed-toe ones in cool. Will those do?

Well, gotta run and find a few more things for the garage sale or DH will think I just sat around and DISed the whole time the kiddos napped! Who? ME? Never.....

Bye for now

Oh, I almost forgot. I almost always have my toenails painted. Especially in the summer. I hope I can still be in the club with you Barb.

DANAUK is Laura Ashely popular anymore in England? I spent tons of money over there thinking I would get the VAT tax off-NOT. But still have my dresses after 10 yrs and still wear them. Very lady like and classy. Love my Laura Ashleys!!

We used to have a Laura Ashley store here in Lexington, but it closed 2 years ago. Lainie's crib set is Laura Ashley. Yep, you guessed it, DMIL bought it. It is so pretty. Pastel pink & yellow, flowers. I love it.

Laura Ashley is more popular with people wanting dresses for special occasions, not really every day wear. I have a couple of pieces of Laura Ashley that I used to wear when I played my trumpet for recitals and solos with orchestras. Like you said though it is expensive.

Wait a minute wait a minute...hold the press...

I have a big black quilted bag that my DSIL gave me for Christmas a bunch of years ago that I used to use as a diaper bag. It has little designs on it. I'm pretty sure is Vera Whatsherface bag. Okay girls (we can't say ladies ;) ), I get a pedicure before vacations, and my toes are always painted, but that's because of...um...you know...the husband thing.

Although I can't live without my cover stick and blush, I rarely wear a base or eye shadow.

I think we have a club going here.

Oh, and with regard to DHB's DM paying $100 for an outfit for the kid, LOL! There is no way my mother would ever spend $100 on an outfit for one of her grandkids, BUT she always gives them a generous savings bond for birthdays and Christmas. That's my mother for ya. She's the queen of frugal. No wonder I'm a bargain hunter.

Okay, gave the dogs a bath, now I'm going for my walk. I'll check back in a few.

Well, okay, I like my tiffany necklace, and my coach purse(both were christmas gifts...andy(my sister) told *santa* I really wanted them...actually she wanted to BORROW them and had too many gifts already...but I do enjoy them NOW), but I never have anything painted, I have worn makeup twice in my life...and I don't think that third will be very soon. My sister decided I should get all 'dolled' up for one of my dances, and did ALL this makeup...I felt like if I tried to smile, my face would crack...so makeup won't be something that will be occuring very much...though maybe it SHOULD ;) !! I admit, I have had a manicure(or two) on my birthday....and they were nice then, but too impracticle. The nail polish was all chipped after my basketball game and didn't end up lasting very long...I have to say, the massage they gave my hands at the end, was by far my favorite part! Lets see, I can't drink beer or wine, but I DO listen to music...loud. I can hang out with the guys, and I'm very athletic. Any sport you throw at me, I'll try it...(and, I usually am pretty good at it...my friend hates me because I'm good at basically anything to do with sports)....do I kinda qualify?!

Alrighty...anyone left for me to talk to? Or did you all leave while I was off doing my hour of yoga....

I'm still here, just watching Queer eye UK on the TV and dising at the same time (I love my laptop and wireless connection!!)

I am a Charter Member of THAT club.. that's mee.. no nailpolish, toe polish, make up, don't use a purse, wine and beer are my drink of choice... and have Tevas and Birkenstocks and new balance..

HOWEVER, being a virgo,, the Mother earth thing is natural for me

Guess what.....I'm back!

llebrekniT Just look at what we started.....now everyone wants to start a club too! Boy am I gonna have an earful to tell RRBB and ohanafamily when I see them on Sunday....too bad you won't be there to defend yourself, young lady ;)

I have to admit it, you had me laughing out loud with the vacation pic comparison.:rotfl:....Jordan came running into the room to see what was happening......I was laughing so hard I was crying and it was a good 10 minutes before I was able to gain some composure and explain that a deluded pampered princess from Kentucky was taking pot shots at his mom and that unfortunately he was bethrothed to her incredibly cute and adorable daughter who, with a Vera Bradley bag at her age, is definitely going to be a lifetime of high maintenance! :teeth:

....... and I'm sure there must be pics of you smiling somewhere in the mansion, we must get my dear pal Deadheadbelle to post a few! ::yes::

BTW, I'll be sure to PM my address to the owner of that Rolex, please do send it to me, such a shame to leave it in the sock drawer, and I gotta try to keep up with llebrekniT, don't cha know! ;)

Christy just left, so I'm bored again!!

She also told me that last night, Adam kissed her!! She didn't want him to either, she only likes him "as a friend"!! It made him mad. Tera already had a boyfriend, and then she went off and kissed Jacob......she is in it deep now!!:teeth: :teeth: {and to think that tera is my cousin!!!} :teeth: :teeth:

How old is your son, Cadburysmom, and how old is your daughter llebreknit?? Is it Holly? Is she 7? I can't keep up with everyones children!!!

I guess I'm somewhere in the middle of a pampered princess and member of the mother earth club....I enjoy getting dressed up and everything(every once in a while)and I love my tiffanys and coach, but at the same time, I live in jeans(or shorts in the summer/sports)and a t-shirt(with a sweatshirt in the winter) with no makeup/nail polish/jewelry....I wonder what I'll be like when I'm older!!

 < me at 20
