[COLOR=66FF00]iluvtink[/COLOR], you asked what I was packing for this weekend. Well, DH & I are going to a wedding in Rochester, NY. The groom was the best man in our wedding. It is gonna be really fun & I can't wait to go. We are driving. Actually, we'll be driving right on through Columbus. I'll wave to you when we pass by. The reason I told [COLOR=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/COLOR] not to read this post is that she is having a hard time dealing with the fact that we are leaving the kids behind. They aren't having kids at the wedding, & we really wanted to go. We've never left the kids before. Yes, Josh will be 5 in July & we have never slept away from him overnight. I am so excited, but I'm a little nervous. The kids will have a ball, my parents are watching them & it is only for 2 days.

So, there you have it!

CourtasanSatine, you mentioned that DBF said gas is close to $2. Do you drive?

Danauk, I think you are offering a reasonable alternative. Lunch would be fun.

DHB - brain cramp relieved ... I remember you talking about the wedding. hmmm... where will you be stopping for lunch? Maybe the timing is about right for lunch. I am 5 minutes from a mall that is right on 71... hint hint. Let me know if it's a possibility. Otherwise tell me about what time to wave and I'll do it. Have a fun trip. The first time I left the kids when they were little was one of the longest trips of my life. That is no longer a problem ... I miss them still, but I enjoy myself a whole lot more!

Gotta go get Kelley, bring her home, go to elem. school to help art teacher set up for amazing art show... she has displayed over 1,000 pieces of the kids' art. I'll check back in for a nanosecond before we go back at six for the show, then again, for another nanosecond about 9, then back at 11:30 or so to see who isn't at the pool...

Hi Ho!!!! I am working from home today because the kids had a 1/2 day at school.. SO i am in the family room on my 'puter and the boys have friends over, so i have 5 kids here trying very hard to be quiet so that i can work...

iluvtink.. I think the CA cruises started out much higher too.. for that much money it is not worth it for us, we can have 2 nice family vacations for the price that they want for the cruise wo air etc.... and since early booking is over, Spring break is prob way over priced too.. I guess we will go spring break 2006..

Broken Bones... I broke a toe every year from the time I was 6 until i was 18.. love to walk around without my shoes..

Anyway, I'm still bummed, so I'll be needing more cheering up. Thanks for the cheer CMom, it's one of my favs. Do they do "Let's get fired up!" in your neck of the woods?

Got one MIL taken care of for Mother's Day. I got her a tree! She's been wanting it for a while, so I'm very excited. Her bday is the next day and I got her a charm for her bracelet and a polo for it and we are going to take her out to dinner that night.

My mom is another problem. She wants stuff I don't want to get her, like tanning bed visits and picture printing paper for her camera and a plant that costs, like, $15. Still working on her. I wanted to take MIL to breakfast but she can't go, so maybe I'll drag my mom out of bed and take her instead. Mentioned this to dad and he said just bring her take-out.

Any ideas for a mom who's simple and yet hard to buy for?

QOTD: Much to my mother's surprise I've never broken a bone....as a child! I was always hanging by my knees or swinging from something! I did break the tip of my middle finger by shutting my hand in the car door when I was 30! Cut about 2/3 of the way through the finger and breaking the tip. The doctore at the ER (probably a med student) kind of freaked when he had to stich through my fingernail....but it worked as a splint to help re-set the tip of the bone. AND...that is now the STRONGEST fingernail I have....a good weapon! It didn't hurt too bad as I had had a couple of adult beverages before it happened

Gas....two bucks
2 Liter cola...I only ever spend $ .99 or sometimes $1.09 but that's a sale price.
Mcdonalds....don't know, don't go there
Movie tickets at night....$7.50

I got my mom a Bonsai Tree. AWESOME! Oh, and I am cooking brunch for her and my dad...I told you all about that.

My MIL and SMIL (DH's dads wife), I will send a card. He can buy for them if he wants. Is this cruel? The problem with buying for his mom is that while we get a long just fine, I wouldn't want to have lunch with her or anything....AND she has problems saying thank you for anything. That's just plain rude!

Where is everyone?

Exciting plans for the evening include a t-ball game. We'll see how the little guy does there and hopefully, the bigger guy will hit a few homer's, make some outs and field some balls.
