I've also been sampling some of that good English chocolate lately! YUM!! Went to some Hertford and Edenton, NC, over Easter weekend just to go on an adventure, and one of them had the cutest little tea shop run by a lovely Scottish lady. She had quite a selection of Cadbury's so I had a Flake (divine), a Dairy Milk (also divine!), a Carmello (also divine), and there are still some Buttons (I think that's what they were called) waiting for Abbie and me to sample!

DH brought back some German chocolates for me...one was a hazelnut creme cookie thing that was fabulous and the other was little tiny bars called "kinder chocolat"...kids chocolate....and I think the packaging was bragging about how much milk was in them....imagine one KitKat section, about half that size, though...and divided into 5 smaller sections...and the little sections had a creamy center. They were quite good OK OK...anything chocolate is good

Morning all, just dropping of a healthy breakfast of fresh fruit salad and cereals on the way to work. I've quickly read through the posts I have missed (you guys are really chatty whilst I am sleeping!!) but will reply to QOTD's etc when I get home.

Sam got a date for the senior prom. She is so excited. He is a real cutie too. But they are "just friends" yeah right!!

Lauren has her IEP (individual education plan) today at 10 so I'll be busy here with her therapists then she has speech at 1pm. Mondays ae crazy. Gotta get ready for the day. Hugs all around

Good morning!


I up early this morning---couldn't sleep past 4 am-even though it was NC Beast's night off. I am currently guarding the kitchen--no breakfast for NC Beast until he has his physical this am. He also has to stop at work on the way home. I might tag along this morning and wait in the car while he does some stuff at work.


Jessie was barking in her sleep and making other wierd sounds. She was a handful last night--I had to get off line to play ball with her. She has been attention needy this past week---she gets way off schedule when NC Beast does a weekend 12 hour shift.

Good morning guys!

Sounds like everybody had a busy weekend. I know ours was, but it was a fun one too.

I'm so glad that FIL's sister is coming down today to start watching over MIL. I think we have gotten to the "dangerous" part with her. The rain has ended for a few days and she'll be getting that urge to dig again.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_104.gif' border=0></a>

She and FIL came to the local center where Holly has swim lessons and they are members there. FIL walks around the walking track for about an hour most days. She came with him, ready to walk too. She only walked about 5 or 6 minutes and looked beat. She is so full of life and energy and I know it's hard for her to be down like this. She needs to take is s-l-o-w-l-y and that is why I am so glad Aunt D is coming. Anyway, it is so easy to forget she is going to be 64 next month because she acts so much younger and she is so proud that she can still do so much.

Don and NP will need to be told the very next time they ask her to do any extended watching of the kids. This I have decided. MIL will not say "no". She is always so willing to help and she just won't say it. She's said several times before that she can't do it anymore, watching those 3 over night. But she goes right back up when they ask. Enough is enough. After the way Don was MIA while she was sick, I can't take it anymore. I'm done with them.

And, I'm done with my rant.

NUTBALL, UncleOhana gets carried away and has admitted to that. He's a very caring person obviously. Just don't come in here naming names anymore and I'm sure he will be quieter - for a while....

Time to shower, shave and shampoo. Wal-Mart needs more of my money today.

Good morning. Just got back from our morning workout. It was a little on the cool side, but so nice outside. Thanks for breakfast Danauk. I'm so ready for it after the walk.

ohanafamily and I were up too late last night. He wanted to get at least a few of the swap bags transfered to boxes. I'll get those out today and the rest will go out tomorrow. I know everyone is anxious to get them. I promise it will be worth the wait.

I found that gray hair as I was looking at my roots trying to decide what color I should make it. Or as I like to refer to it as "going back to my natural color"!

Oh and to top it off I will probably be laid off June 30th but what I've been thinking about is not be out of work but what I want to be when I grow up. I have no idea what I want to do, well except go on our trip in Oct.

s&k'smom--I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be---I used to babysit during college, worked with developmental disabled adults, retail at Lane Bryant, and I was a lab tech making glasses in an hour. I do have a degree, but want to spend time with hubby and we have only one car. His schedule is settling down where I mostly likely be retail--so I can have flexible hours.

I was soooo upset last night... I'd been sneakily reading posts all day to get caught up, and about 8:00 last night, I pulled a Robin Hood, held a reed in my mouth, and swam underwater to the Island, towing a cooler of Long Island Iced Teas for you all. (DH had taken DD11 to a friend's house to look at some baby chicks and DD15 was watching Extreme Home Makeover!) I had wonderfully clever things to say in response to everyone's posts, I had interesting questions, and in general, I was on a roll. Then... just as I was about to "submit," my Internet Explorer had an error, and all was lost, even the Long Island Iced Teas! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_5_6.gif' alt='Cry Baby' border=0></a>

I know I wanted to tell geffric that her recap of the hike painted a pretty miserable, but funny picture... I hope there are photos, and I am really impressed with the kids' and geffric's tenacity and good humor.

And I remember that I thought that Hugh Dancy guy was a cutie, and thought he could join the Island Bartender Corps. My thought is that these hot English guys, like Hugh, Hugh, and Wills, all have clear blue eyes, and high blushing cheekbones... it's that blushing that knocks me over! Speaking of English, Danauk, thanks for the healthy breakfast... maybe it will inspire me to stay off of Oreos today!!!

Lewski709!!! You have GOT to find another job... I can't chat on the weekends and you can't chat during the week. That is just not working... we should get our ex's together... mine was selling drugs unbeknownst to me, and right before I moved home to Mom and Dad, I might have been on COPS as the victim!!! I just remembered a police story that I have to share:

We had just built a new home on a beautiful wooded, lakefront lot. The lot that ran along side ours and joined at the lake was not sold when we bought ours. Just as we moved in, someone bought it and proceeded to clear the lot of just about every tree, way more so than what was needed to place a house on it. The restrictions for this developement specifically and strictly stated that you are not to remove more trees than what was needed to build your house.

We let the developer know what was going on, really all he could do was to tell him he would have to replace the trees and he warned him not to clear anymore. The trees in these woods had never been cut, it was very wooded and the trees very tall. Anything he planted would never restore the land to what it had been.

On top of that, he was a stay-at-home-dad and he let his two kids, under the age of 5, run wild everywhere and they kept getting on our dock with no one around to watch them. The water at the end of the dock was about 10' deep. And they got in our brand new boat and got it all muddy!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_6_10.gif' border=0></a> We told him not let them get on the dock, please.

Next, the guy (who we had by now affectionately dubbed "the idiot") started burning all the trees he had chopped and leaving the fire unattended.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_4_51.gif' border=0></a> This was during a drought! We called the fire department out and they warned the idiot.

Weeks passed and one day the idiot was right down by our property line clearing more trees! He was about 200 feet from where his house would be built! DH went down there and asked the idiot what he was doing. The idiot said he wanted to be able to see the lake more. What an ***! There were plenty of lakefront lots with no trees, he bought one with trees and then doesn't want them? We bought our property because we loved the woods.

So they started arguing pretty bad and it got uglier and uglier <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_124.gif' border=0></a>until DH dared the idiot to come any closer to our property with that chainsaw. Then it became quite juvenile and the idiot dared DH to step on his property. DH called him "Mr. Mom". This really pissed the idiot off.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4_3_1.gif' border=0></a>

I said "enough is enough" and got DH to leave and come back to the house.

A couple days later a sheriff's deputy<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_120.gif' border=0></a> knocked on the door and asked for DH. He wasn't home. He said he had papers to serve him and asked where he was. I told him where to find him.

Too late for long story short, but the idiot filed charges against DH and I kid you not - the charges stated "subject made threatening remarks, called plaintiff Mr. Mom,..." He actually put that in the charges.

Remember I told you before who the sheriff<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/1040v.gif' border=0></a> in my county is? We were not worried in the least.

We went to court. The developer, who was also a good friend of ours, went to stand up for DH. The judge listened to the idiot state his complaint, then DH stood up and started to say something and the judge told him to sit down and be quiet because he was dismissing this ridiculous case.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_26.gif' border=0></a> The idiot<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_4_112.gif' border=0></a> was noticably embarrassed.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_1_7.gif' border=0></a>
