Goof morning ya'll. :goodvibes

SadieDog...I'm sorry your daughter is not feeling any better yet. I hope that changes as the day goes on. :goodvibes

Mean Queen...Your job does sound like it can be a lot of fun. Ad i have to ask...Do you really want to go near that ringtone? :lmao:

....

pixiedust:May we all have pleasant dreams of Disney!! :) :thumbsup2

Ummm.....

I had a sort-of Disney dream last night.

It was about Zzub (Tink knows who that is...!). Which is made even weirder if you consider the fact that I've never seen more than an arm or a leg in his pictures....:rolleyes1 Boy my imagination was active last night!:lmao:

It's a RINGTONE??!!!.......I want a Peanut Butter Jelly Time ringtone!!

Welcome. I recognize you and glad you were directed this way.

Thank you! And thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.

Mine is going ok. Trying to get the boys to calm down and get ready for bed. DH is going to the drug store for cough medicine and throat drops. I swear we just can't seem to get this cough out of the house!

.

You, too, huh?

I'm actually staying home with DS today. He came down with something yesterday, and now has a fever, sore throat, and teensy cough. He wasn't drinking a lot of fluids, and hates taking his medecine, so we're working on that.

This morning I went to the grocery store and bought three different kinds of popsicles. When you're sick, you get the right to that kind of stuff in my mind. As long as I get some fluids in, right? :goodvibes

I can't believe you had a ZZUB dream!

How is everyone doing this morning?

Hi LegoMom. :wave2: Your dream sounds...........interesting. I do know of ZZUB. I just don't know him personally. For which I think I am thankful. :thumbsup2 :rotfl: And the last thing we need is for that ringtone to be unleashed on the world. :rotfl2: ::yes::

....
How is everyone doing this morning?

Well I've got the 9- and 7-yr. olds home from school. I figure a good long weekend out of the classroom ought to at least start to shake this dumb cough thing. And I totally agree on the popsicle thing!:thumbsup2

DH is out raking snow off the roof.....because when it rains on Tuesday all that snow is gonna get reaaal heavy. Which is not good for a roof.

So. Done.

However I am pretty jazzed about the "heatwave" we're getting on Monday - supposed to be sunny and 42!!!:cool1:

Hey did anybody watch Good Morning America earlier? They featured a family that has had to "cut back" to "only" $90k/year..... Gimme a break!!!! That is not hardship!!! The "sacrifices" they've made are skipping Starbucks (yes Mean Queen I know that truly is a sacrifice!:lmao:), not eating out 2 or 3 nights per week, and pulling their kids out of some fancy private academy.:sad2: How about showing REAL families that were only making $30k/yr. to begin with and lost THAT?! Oy...

.

Good morning. :flower3: Hope your little one is on the mend quickly. :goodvibes

I had no idea it was supposed to get up to 42. Now that does sound promising. I hope the kids get better soon! I know it's no fun when they're sick.

And seriously? Good Morning America needs a reality check. Good lord, cutting back to $90,000? I wish we actually saw that kind of money. :lmao:

Good morning. :flower3: Hope your little one is on the mend quickly. :goodvibes

Thank you so much!

Guys, I'm going to head off for a bit. DS wants someone to "sleep on the couch" with him. Which basically means I'm due for some laying down and reading while he watches TV. Poor little nugget. He did have two popsicles, so I'm glad.

Catch you later! :goodvibes

I missed it and it's a good thing. I would have been very disgusted. Those are NOT sacrifices. They are cutting back on their many luxuries. I make my coffee at home, don't eat out and sure can't afford to send my kids to private school. Share some helpful information for us struggling working families. That is insulting to people who are truely struggling.

To all the sick adults and kids:

Hope you are feeling better soon. :goodvibes

I went onto their web site to post a comment and discovered that I was NOT alone!! Some comments were downright scathing! But they deserved it. Like you said, that's cutting back on luxuries, not survival. Who did that really help, showing that example??

All it did was tick people off. I didn't even see it and I am totally disgusted. Who came up with that news piece? Let me guess, people who don't truely know what it means to struggle or they completely forgot what it is like.

The horror! Giving up Starbucks!!!! :faint:  :rolleyes2

I guess to the New York producers and staff of GMA $90k is nothing. Well, live just about anywhere else and that makes you middle class. I'd be able to afford 2 out of the three of those on $90k in my area. The rest of the world is not New York, so start programming for the rest of the U.S., not the people who pay $2,000 a month to live in a closet.

I don't think the news shows need to highlight the people who are so cheap they steal packets of ketchup from restaurants and squeeze them back into a bottle at home or remove one ply of TP to make 2 rolls. But a more realistic example of people struggling would be nice.

I have today off so I am relaxing around the house and reading a book. :coffee:

Hey ya'll. Just checked in and caught up on all the chatter. Couldn't help to notice the vent about GMA. I didn't see the piece but I'm with you - give me a break!

It just so happens I need to vent about something I saw on TV ...

Just saw the preview to the new Friday The 13th movie. The premise of the movie is a guy goes up to Camp Crystal Lake to look for his sister who has disappeared. What I want to know is -WHY- after 20+ years and umpteen Friday the 13th movies -- hasn't that guy figured out there's a crazy man at the lake murdering people??
:sad2:

:joker:

:rotfl2: Oh my goodness I can't believe they're making yet another installment of that movie! One was enough!! I saw the first one (I was too young but back in those days all you needed was an adult to bring you to the ticket counter and say it was "ok" for the 13-yr. olds to see the R movie...!:scared: ). The very end scared the CARP outta me!!!!!!!!!!! Just when you thought it was over....

.

Hey ya'll. Boy it has been a busy day around here. The thing is...I'm not sure why. :confused3 :rotfl2:

I'm with ya'll on not believing they are making another installment of the Friday the 13th movies. I haven't seen one yet. Slicing, dicing and screaming is just not my thing. Unless it involves dinosaurs. :rotfl: Now I wouldn't mind a Jurrasic Park 4. ::yes:: :thumbsup2

I like Jurrasic Park and horror movies. Can't believe they are making another Friday the 13th though.

I LOVE Jurassic Park!!!! :lmao:

Sorry, just had to get that out of my system. And I have this weird thing for Jeff Goldblum. Don't ask why. Have ever since I was a kid. Primarily intensified upon seeing the first Jurassic Park film.

What is it about this thread that makes me spill the deep dark secrets? ;)

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. DS seems to be doing better, although he still feels quite warm to the touch. We had a little wrestling match over his medecine in the afternoon. No joke, I was sweating. :lmao: Fortunately, DH found the ultimate distraction this evening. In the form of the Nintendo DS. Whatever works, right? So he took his medecine, no problem. Hopefully DH can continue giving the doses since he's so good at it! :goodvibes

Hope everyone has a great night!

Don't know but you're not alone. There are others here who have weird things for celebrities.....:rolleyes1

Glad the lil' nugget is feeling a tad better, at least. My DS7 isn't feeling great, either. But he takes medicine. With abandon! DS9, on the other hand, could be oozing blue goo from his fingernails and wouldn't take a thing....At. All.

.

I was directed here by the AWESOME Tinkerbellarella ;)

I'm AWESOME.
Whoda thunk it?
;)

And on a side note...do any of you have any idea where the peanut butter jelly time came from? When my husband first saw the bananas on the DIS boards, he told me about that song, and I have no idea what he's talking about. Please don't disown me. :lmao:

Ahem.
My dearest.
Go here.

And dude. Tinkerbellarella has the same number of syllables and so can be substituted. How 'bout that?!

TK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aren't ya glad I sent her over? :thumbsup2

Thanks. She already had some jaw issues too from when she had her braces and they enlarged her mouth. This sure doesn't help.

Ugh. Well, I can relate and I SO hope your daughter is feeling better. It took 6 months after having my wisdom teeth out to be able to open my mouth to the "normal" width, thanks to my lovely jaw. In addition to the ibuproferen to bring the swelling down, tell her to try moist heat. Think a face cloth soaked in a hot tub or doused and heated in the microwave for a few seconds. The moist part is very important. It helps the body to actually absorb the heat. Probably the best advice my oral surgeon ever gave me.

Ummm.....

Did your dream take place in Canada?
Teppanyuki?
A nook in the Lodge?

;)

What is it about this thread that makes me spill the deep dark secrets? ;)

Well, not ALL your deep, dark secrets. ;)

::ahem::

But who knows, maybe soon you'll be proclaiming from the rooftops that you'll be turning.....mumblemumblemumble.....in October.

Remember.
I love you.

Hopefully DH can continue giving the doses since he's so good at it! :goodvibes

I love their little bond.

BTW - Today's high 77 - Friday's high 57. :confused3 One day wearing shorts, the next sweats.

Both of those days are shorts weather.

However I am pretty jazzed about the "heatwave" we're getting on Monday - supposed to be sunny and 42!!!:cool1:

42 is a nice heatwave. As far as GMA, I got my w-2's the other day, I make LESS THAN $13,000.00 A YEAR...........and I pay $6060.00 a year in mortgage payments. Try living on that folks. I do get child support, but, like that really makes life easier. Thank goodness for that, I know so many people who don't get that.
