For pete's sake, in this economy tearing out perfectly good landscaping is nuts. The sidewalks are in need of repair. Only one of the roofs has been replaced. There are about 8-10 buildings.

My daughter went to Southern Maine Community College to take the Accuplacer today. You take the test on the computer. They see the results right away so they immediately told her that she was accepted. Then the lady said that b/c it's early, she will get housing. Housing is not automatic, it's 1st come 1st serve. That's a load off our minds b/c we were worried about her getting into a dorm. Though I will feel better when I see on paper that she has a room.

AWESOME!!! Congratulations.

hope everyone slept well.

well the saga of my 15 yr old continues

last night at 10 till 10 she wanted to go to her bf's house and watch a movie when he got home (which meant he wasn't home yet and she didn't know when he would be) but she thought it was ok to go over there even that late and come home after midnight when her parents have to work the next day and she is 15!

geez all of a sudden she wants to do all this stuff? she never asked to do things like this b/c she knows I would say no.

Teenagers. They either make us stronger, or they drive us insane. She is testing her boundaries...just keep saying no. And then before you know it, the day will come when realize that you have this very special best friend. (And this doesn't just pertain to girls. Sons make wonderful best friends too. And i know that for a fact. )

Hey ya'll. I'm a little behind on my posts. The new hours are a bit of a drag. I get up around 8 or 9 to have some social time with hubby. He goes to bed around 10 or 11 and I still have 3 to four hours before I head to work. It's weird but better than being unemployed, right?

I've been spending a lot of time on the Vegas boards - 39 days. Woohoo! The hotel we're staying at is awesome!

You know, half my family is about as Irish as they come, and oddly enough, I have never had green beer.

The doesn't mean, however, that I don't have my corned beef in the crock pot with some good old carrots and potatoes, soon to be accompanied by cabbage.

And my great-grandmother's Irish Soda bread baking in the oven.

I love St. Patty's Day.
