Having children is very rewarding.

This might sound a little weird, but while i'd love to have kids i'm not sure I want to be married. I know that goes against society and everything but I don't know if marriage is right for everyone. I mean, if I found the right person that would be great but I don't want to get married just because that's what you're supposed to do. I think my mother would have fared a lot better if she hadn't married my dad...Does that make any sense? Sorry, i'm getting all personal and philosophical :rotfl:

yeah, you get rewarded with high blood pressure, no sleep, a nagging feeling that you are buying the entire store, a loss of plesent memories of high school, the in ability to talk to them without yelling above the music, no sleep when they turn teens,...

I know I am forgetting something...

(oh yeah, loss of cognative ability!!)

OH and the need fer a LOT of RUM!!!!

hehehehehhehe

Sweetie the only thing I can say is to follow your heart. But when marriage works it is a most wonderful thing. And it does make raising children that much sweeter.

I would love to have a great marriage and for my kids to have a gerat dad but from what i've seen a lot of people get locked in relationships when they aren't happy. I'm a free spirit and I don't want to be controlled!

Grumpy Pirate stop being so grumpy. After all you were rewarded with the need for a lot of rum. Or is that the problem....A lot of need and no rum? :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Sometimes you have to take a deep breath and take a chance. And knock down a few walls.

It does make sense, but at the same time if you can find a good person to share your life with, it is also very rewarding. I had decided at a young age that if I did not find a partner by the time my biological clock was running out, I would have kids as a single person. I do understand what you are saying.

Yeah I guess. I just don't think someone should stay in an abusive relationship just because divorce is looked down upon. I'd rather just do my own thing and not have to worry about what my husband will say or what he'll want to do. Like, for example, I see women on the DIS all the time saying "I really want to go to Disneyworld but DH doesn't want to". Seriously? That sucks, you can't do something because your husband doesn't want to? Why do you have to be exactly alike on everything? Obviously I won't take my husband to the ballet and he won't take me to a football game :rotfl: I wan't a relationship that's open and not controlling. I certainly don't want to offend anyone, i'm sure many marriages are great but the everyone in my family is like on their third marriage. The only people still married are my dad's parents and they hate each other :confused3

Sorry, i'm having one of those moments where i'm trying to figure out what to do with my life!

So i'm really new around here, (see post numbers) but hey that doesn't take away from the fact that I want a tag! I actually had one of these a few years ago but my old name was ransacked, stolen, and taken over by non-other than my mom....so now I have to start all over again...so can I join over here please???:worship:

Then you won't pick a controlling guy. ;) Families come in all shapes and sizes. You'll find the right one for you one day.

And Grumpy Pirate, what good memories of high school? I can't really think of any.

But of course! You'll have a lot of posts to make sure you say something stupid enough to become a tag.

Absolutely no one should stay in an abusive relationship. You never know, maybe someday you will meet the right person and you will want to try marriage. Somethings you just can't plan on. However, if you decided that marriage is not for you, that is fine. Just don't completely shut your mind to it as you never know what your future might have in store for you.
