Mean Queen, a cruise sounds like so much fun. Is it mostly families with young children? Do you see many childless couples and if so do they have any adult only areas?

I don't know if any of you here are avid exercisers.....doesn't seem from the posts that anyone is. But I wish I was!

I was watching the Olympics last night; caught the end of the men's marathon and then some women's relay races. And it occured to me that all the really fit people I see, who I want to look like, are runners.

I hate running....

I do enjoy my bike, though!

But I also seem to have zero motivation beyond seeing someone on tv and saying, "Ugh, I really need to get into an exercise routine...that's what I want to look like, not what I currently see in the mirror!!" :headache:

I also happen to enjoy food.

Quite a lot, actually.

Thus my excitement over Free Dining....

Just sayin'.... :rolleyes1

Oh well, I guess that's that. Until my schedule is my own and not my family's (does that happen, Smileybug??!)....

Musing over. Carry on with the thread.

Disney has an adult only pool with hot tub, adult only dining area (that requires special reservations and a small extra cost) and even an adults only beach at Castaway Cay. Plus, there's a great spa. So there's plenty to do for kids at heart who don't have kids with them. That's why we booked Flounder's nursery, so we could have some kid-free time. But if you go without kids, you could easily have plenty of time without kids being around. There are lots of kids on the cruise, but since they have so many activities for all ages, you'd still find plenty to do.

I know what you mean. Food wins out for me every time over getting fit. I enjoy food and I don't enjoy exercising. So I prefer to enjoy life than have a bunch of regrets.

It hasn't for me yet. :rotfl: But I don't know how to let it happen. But being a SAHM has always been my "career" I don't know how to retire. :rotfl2: One of these days I'll probably be a SAHGM. (stay at home grandma)

I need to add to that post. I do have alot more "me" time now and I love it. It's funny that you mentioned avid exercisers. I'm not one yet. But I am actively searching for programs that will work best for me. I need to stop this middle age spread.:rotfl: Maybe we can all encourage each other.:goodvibes

I know what you mean about the happy thoughts. My logic anyway is Happy thoughts = Happy Karma. :confused3 Who knows...right/wrong or loosing my mind. But it seems to work for me.:rotfl:

It sure can't hurt now can it? :rotfl:

I wondered what happened to you! I hope your week goes better and you can stop by more often. I'm always on the lookout now at the parks for LGMS's and I never see any. I've noticed people wearing lime green, but that could just be there way of finding each other. So I don't embarass myself by saying anything to them. Can you imagine? "Hi, I'm Mean Queen, are you Momsof2boys or Smileybug?" :rotfl2:

Here is how I look at it... If you say something and they don't know you from adam... they still won't! :rotfl2: So they might one day find the Dis and then say...Ohhhhhhhh.... now I remember something about a lady on one of my trips....:rotfl: i will say it for sure! Are you on a cruise board too? We had a great group and played tag and had Dis meets and wore LG Bracelets and some of us had our tables linked at dinner. It was like traveling on a cruise ship with your 30 favorite families!

Please don't feel like you can't say what's on your mind b/c you have to bring only happy thoughts. I know I feel better letting it out. I hope I am not irritating or depressing you guys when I have to get something off my chest. I"d rather be me than pretend everything is always A-OK. Sometimes I go through streaks of bad luck. If I waited till that was over, you may not hear from me much.:rotfl2:

The hole in my foot feels much better today. I am so glad I didn't have to make a trip to the emergency room yesterday.

Thank you Sadiedog... I don't find you depressing or irritating at all. That is just how I am with some things. If something is bugging me about my family, i share that... but if it is about a friend or client then I don't feel I have a right is all. We have had some builders go bankrupt and clients that were waiting to move in to those homes are now displaced. Although I could not have changed it, I still bear that feeling of responsibility. I also have friends that are having major life changing things right now. It weighs heavily on my heart. If it was my oldest child on my nerves or having problems, i would be here for all your advise and support. You guys are the best!

Oh no, those poor people. That is sad. :sad1: It is very difficult to see close friends going through difficult times. We can't help but feel their pain.

LegoMom, I walk almost everyday and sometimes add a LITTLE jogging to it. I am forced to walk b/c I have 2 9 month old dogs. Dogs need activity to be happy. If I don't have time to walk as long as usual, I will jog them a little, but I prefer the fast walk. It's also easier on your body. Hey, that's what you need - a DOG. ;)

Mean Queen, nice the Disney Cruise has something to make everyone happy. I hope I get to experience it someday.

My husband isn't as interested in meeting a whole bunch of Disney obsessed strangers as I am. I set up a meet with a cruise we did before, and my daughter didn't want to do anything that didn't involve the other girl her age. Since we didn't plan our whole vacation around those strangers, it made it a bit difficult and our DD was miserable without a "friend." My DH said never again. This time we're going with friends. But I don't want to drag them on to all my Dis meets. I will try to meet up once or twice with the Travelling Turkeys, but I'm not getting into the fish extender exchanges and all that.

I hope everything works out for your friends. The real estate market is so bad now, so many people are getting hurt.

So yesterday I went out my front door, took a few steps and stepped on a large rusty spike sticking out of the ground.:headache: Luckily I was walking slowly and it didn't go in far. Far enough to make it bleed though. Dug a little and discovered it was attatched to cement in the ground from an old deck. My husband got the spike out. Very lucky one of the dogs didn't step on it while running. That would have been a painful and expensive trip to the vet or emergency hospital if after hours.

Now I have a hole in my left foot just under the big toe where it bends. Hurts to walk. I think I will go wash it out again, put some ointment on it and try a bandaid. I wonder when my last tetanus shot was?

Ouch!

Hello, and good Saturday night, ladies! It's been an exciting day here: I was up at 2:00am (yes, 2am), and we left for Old Navy this morning to buy blue jeans for ds at 7:30. Went out for breakfast. Drove to Fayetteville. We waited in line at the Fayetteville, NC Old Navy for 2 hours :scared1: to be checked out. I knew I should have driven to Myrtle Beach.

Then, we went to JCPenney, the Disney Store (of course), Starbuck's :lovestruc , to the salon to get all of the kid's hair cut, then to WalMart and finally to a birthday party. I'm exhausted. But I wasn't so exhausted that I could not pay off our Disney trip. :dance3: I am proud to say, no part of this trip was put on a credit card. I saved the descretionary money I get each month for 7 months, and added in the truck payment once we paid it off in May to finally be able to pay off the trip this afternoon!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

DeterminedOne: I still see your splat. I have nothing to offer you about your dental work except this:  Hope you feel better soon.
Smileybug: I am in NC and we are getting no rain (I work in the PeeDee of SC, though)
SadieDog: Sorry about your foot. Ouch! You've had a rough run recently, haven't you?
MeanQueen: Congrats on getting to book at midnight for the cruise. Thanksgiving ought to be amazing! It was our first choice for WDW. Are you going to do the Land/Sea package?
PAMom: Glad to see you are excited about being back. I wasn't, but then again, I worked every week this summer except the week I was at the beach and the week of the 4th.Legomom: Are you packing yet? I am afraid to admit it. . .I determined a long time ago, I was going to pack one person a week starting at exactly 2 months out. That would give me 5 weeks to pack one person at a time, 2 weeks to pick up things I might have forgotten and recheck everyone the last week. Smileybug was kind enough to relate to me that that date is tomorrow. Am I a great planner or am I anal retentive? (Or maybe both. . .):rotfl: :confused3

I had only one week off myself. That was when we went to Williamsburg, VA. I don't even consider that a vacation since I did all of the driving, cooking, cleaning, etc.

Hey ya'll. Am I to late for the party?

Nope.

My bil and sil are forever sending 3-4 of those Ziploc big bags to the girls. They send lots of t-shirts that are appropriate for boys and girls, so those I distribute out evenly. For school this year, we had to buy jeans for ds, shoes for everyone, and one outfit for the first day of school. It really helps us out. They always ask if I'm offended when they send the kids stuff, but why should I be? Their daughter may wear those clothes 4-5 times before she is finished with them. When we are finished, we pass them on to another family. Since they are Annual Pass holders and Florida residents, there are always a lot of Disney shirts, pants, and pajamas! :cool1:

I've always had people give me clothes. I've always appreciated it being a single mom.

Hiiii!!!

Anyone around?! Hubby and I are ordering out for Chinese tonight and watching the end of the Olympics.

I started packing today!!

Mmmmmmmmm, love Chinese. YUM

I'm here. The end of the volleyball was great. That coach had to have just gone through the most stressful two weeks of his life.

I love Chinese too. But my family ordered it last night while I had the Melting Pot. I got the better deal. (That's a fondue restaurant for those that don't have one.)

Tonight we had bleu cheese burgers. I made a kahlua milkshake for dessert. Now we're watching the closing ceremonies.

Hello ladies. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Just wanted to say hello before I sart getting ready for work. Hope your Monday is as good as it can be for a Monday. :) Have fun packing LegoMom. :thumbsup2

I was going to ask you what Melting Pot was. I had never heard of it. Mmmmm kahlua milkshake. I had boring fishsticks for supper.

If you ever have the chance to go to a Melting Pot, go. It's pricey, but so yummy and fun. I went with 2 friend. We split a 4 course meal for two between us and were plenty full. Though the bottle of Spumante helped. ;)

Good morning!!!

It's Monday!
