Welcome M&N! :goodvibes

I made a big pot of chili today ... great food for cold weather. ::yes::
Not as fun as a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks, but yummy still. :p

Yummy! Though if the chili has beans in it, that's not too fun for whoever sleeps with you. ;) Beans, beans, the musical fruit...

So, I'm wondering if husbands really realize the impact of their words on their wives when it comes to Disney promises....

Today DH came grocery shopping with me. Since I don't live near anything, it's a chance to take a nice ride and chat. We got to talking about his job, the money he makes, the benefits, etc., and the fact that next year he gets three weeks of vacation time! (one of the perks of sticking with a job for a while) And since the topic of Disney is never really that much of a tangent off anything we discuss (I have the ability to tie it in to almost any conversation!:thumbsup2 ), we started talking about the trip I'm planning for next year. He knows I'm serious when I say I'm putting money away and already planning it in my head, and he gives me free rein to do so.

So HE says, "You know, if I'm still at this job, let's go for 10 days next time."

:jumping1:

It has been said!! The words have audibly come forth from his mouth!! There ain't no way in God's green earth I'm lettin' THIS go!!!

WOO-TASTIC!!!!!!!!

10 days at WDW! Sounds like a dream come true. I may get to go often, but it's always short trips. 10 days in a row would be so nice.

Will your DH still be at this job when you move to Florida?

I had ham and beans for lunch from Nutrisystem. It was yummy.

now I am steaming some asparagus and then I will decide on my entree.

Love this thread. Read the last servral pages and trying to catch up..on p 26..so lots to read. Glad to see many of you did get tagged. If this thead doesn't make you laugh, you must be laughless!
Love Smileybugs graphics.:yay:

:welcome: Where in PA are you? I'm near Harrisburg.

I so know how you feel! We take mostly one day trips (tomorrow I'm spending the day at Epcot... ), sometimes two or three at a resort. DD and I are planning a 6 day trip next year with my MIL.

For anyone who is intrested, here are the two posts I made about our trip to Salem/Boston/Concord/York, ME. The first post is from while we were there. I just don't feel like retyping and reformating everything! ;)

This is from when we got back:

I finally got the pictures sorted, but haven't uploaded any other than to Walgreens to print. I printed 212 today. There are 200+ more to print. We had a total of 1360+ pictures.

Fun reading your report! I'm from that area so I'm quite familiar with all the places you went. The reason for the traffic on Sat. was due to the holiday weekend - people flock to NH over Columbus Day weekend to see the foliage! I live in NH now and we pretty much stay off the roads as much as possible in early October!:rolleyes1 "Leaf peepers" they're called...

No, there's no transfer involved so whether or not he's still at the job will depend on if the house has sold. While I'd like to think it will have, I have to say the market is horrid right now so I'm open to the possibility that it will still be for sale next summer...:sad2: BUT, the trade-off is that we will have a 10-day trip to the World! Once in Florida I'm sure we'll be like you - more frequent but shorter trips.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL!!

Sorry I have been absent lately. Life has just gotten really busy lately. :confused3
Hope you all have a wonderful day!! :goodvibes

As you all know I recently moved to third shift. It was a voluntary move- well, sort of. The supervisor on third left so my boss asked if I would move to third. I had the choice to say no, so that's why I consider it voluntary. So anyway, before I said yes I asked my boss if I would get a raise. The way I see it, hourly employees get shift premium pay for working third shift -salaried employees should too. I didn't think I would get it, but what I have learned is when you want something, ASK.

As of last night I still hadn't heard anything. My plan was to follow up at the end of the week. So this morning I was having a casual conversation with the HR mangager and he says to me "So have you seen your raise?"

He asked if my manager had discussed it with me yet I said no. He says "Okay, I'll send you an email. By the way, thanks for stepping up to the plate and moving to third shift. You really helped us."

I was shocked!!... Not only about the raise, but how apparently it's a big deal I took the job. My boss made it seem like a big deal, but I thought only to him 'cause it's his department and I saved his butt. And isn't it funny how the Tag Fairy picked "I need to go with my gut on this one" as one of my tags since that statement was in reference to taking the job on third? Thanks again, Tag Fairy! :flower3:

I am very happy about the raise. I don't even know how much it is yet, but I'm still happy. :woohoo: It pays to ask for what you want!! I used to be the type of person to not push things or make waves, just go with the flow. But I have learned well from my DS who always pushes back and never goes with the flow.

One year she took my niece to see Dora the Explorer. It was a last minute decision so she bought tickets at the box office. The theatre was packed and they gave her seats way in the back. It was what she expected having purchased the tickets day of the show, but being the person she is, she asked if there were seats in the first row. They said YES!!!! My niece got to see Dora up close and personal. We got a good chuckle out of the story, but more than that it was such a lesson for me. From then on out, I started asking for stuff even when I don't think I'll get it. The only thing that can happen is that I get a NO. :rolleyes1

Sorry to go on a tangent. I'm just really happy and wanted to share that with all of you. :goodvibes

SmileyBug - we miss you!!

DeterminedOne - Way to go! Just think of all the Disney trips you can take now! (or, if not more trips, you can buy more stuff or stay in a deluxe!!)

I'm sitting here this morning realizing that starting next Monday I won't be able to sit here after the kids go off to school and catch up with the DIS...! But, I do keep thinking of that next trip and it keeps me going!

Have a great day everyone!

I am impressed...new to this thread...I did not realize tag fairies were that powerful. No wonder everyone wants one! :woohoo:

Morning all!

Nothing much planned down here today. :confused3

DeterminedOne it sure sounds like your screen name fits your personality. :cool1: Congrats on the raise. I hope it's more than enough to help send you back to WDW!

I have a fun toddler story to share with you. Ok, not so much fun, as funny. My 18 month old is obsessed with baby dolls. She likes to gather all the dolls in the house and hand them to me. Last night, I was doing important work on the computer. :surfweb: Ok, I was on the Dis. But it was important to me. DD came up and laid a baby doll in my lap. She walked away, laid a bed for the baby on my lap. Then wondered away again. At this point, I stopped paying attention. I just kept saying "Thank you" after each thing she handed me. My lap got full and a bunch of the stuff landed on the floor. When I was done, I grabbed what was in my lap and walked off to put it away. That's when I realized all that was left in my lap was a diaper... a very wet one my DD had got out of the garbage. I had been sitting there with this in my lap while I typed away happily on the Dis. I guess my DD decided the dolls needed to go to bed and have a diaper change. :lmao: I'm just glad I put the nasty diapers in a diaper pail, or I would have been in real trouble. :scared1:

Hi all!!

SmileyBug -- I hope life calms down for you soon... I'm glad you were able to stop in and say hi!

DeterminedOne -- That is AWESOME about the raise!! Congrats!!!

LegoMom3 -- Thinking of that next trip is what usually keeps me going, too. :goodvibes

Mean Queen -- Your story almost made me spit coffee on my monitor. I just keep picturing you sitting there with an icky diaper in your lap!

M&N -- Welcome to our little party!!

I'm sitting here feeling kinda sad because nobody at work seems to have remembered my birthday, so I had to come :grouphug: all my formerly-tagless friends here and now I feel better. :)

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

since we are talking about toddler stories listen to this....

Yesterday morning, I went to get my youngest DS (2) up to go to the day care. So when I get in his room, I can smell the smell. :scared: He said "Ewwww" I said come here and let me change that daiper. He didn't move, I said come here again, still no movement. So I go over to him (he is sitting up in the bed) and I see his hands :scared: :scared: are covered in you know what. Then I realize that there is a huge pile in the bed, then to my surprise, I realize that he has taken the diaper off and pooped right there in the bed. :scared: :scared: :scared:

I must say that was about the most disgusting thing I had seen in a while. He is in the process of potty training, and he pretty much has #1 down, but #2, I don't think has ever made it in the potty.
