Pointe shoes are like a step up from Ballet in dance I've worked SO SO hard to start on it and now I can start classes in September.

Ooooh..That's not the best picture. This is a better picture of someone on pointe. And it's surprisingly not that painful! I was scared when I was getting fitted but when I put on toepads it felt better.

Congrats! That's a huge step up in dance. Have you been using the pre-pointe shoes? I'm taking tap in my old age. My DD was in ballet, tap and jazz, but is now doing hip hop. A lot of the older girls in our dance school were learning pointe. It is so amazing to watch on stage when they have their platter tutus on. My DD gave up on ballet well before she got to that point(e.) She's like me, no physical grace.

We're packing up for our one-nighter to WDW right now. It's been storming a lot here in FL, so we may not spend as much time in the parks as we planned. Good thing we've got a savannah view at AKV, it'll make it still feel like a good trip... watching all those animals get wet.

Thanks Do you mean demi-pointe shoes? If yes, then no I haven't. I just took pre-pointe class on my regular flats. I love tap! It's a lot of fun, especially doing acapella. I'm sure your DD loves Hip-Hop, it's like the most modern-ized kind of dance I think, because there are no specific steps like in Ballet and Tap you can just go with the flow. Haha.

Yes, the demi-pointes. I always just called them pre-pointe shoes because the kids who used them were in the pre-pointe class. I haven't taken ballet since I was my DD's age, 8. And I didn't go very far either. She does love hip hop because it is more free flowing. Though I see a lot of the basic steps she learned in other classes, like jazz squares (everyone loves a good jazz square!) I love tap because it is great exercise and a lot of fun. Do you take other styles of dance, or are you focusing on ballet?
