I just listened to all of Illuminations on Live365....:cloud9:

I also just got a call from work, saying we're not working tomorrow. She didn't give much detail but it sounded like something of a personal nature. Hope everything's ok...:guilty:

Anyone else around tonight?

.
Good Morning!!!
I was in bed early last night. After watching American Idol I was down for the count. :rotfl: Are you happy about not having to work today? I need a day off soooooooo badly! I even have to work Saturday - 4th weekend in a row.
:rolleyes1

Good morning!

You sound like my DH with your schedule; he works just about every Saturday, and right now they are doing every other Sunday too (NOT this Sunday - in a plant full of males they know better than to even attempt to run on Superbowl Sunday!! :rotfl: ). I'm fine with having the day off; I'll do some scrapbooking of course, and get a jump on the picking up around the house (we have a showing on Sat.), and maybe even tackle some more junk in the basement....:scared: DH is bringing my car in for inspection this morning so I'll get some good "me" time (and likely crank some Disney tunes way up on the computer!! :cool1: ).

I had to go to the dentist yesterday....I'd forgotten how much I hate the feeling of my teeth getting picked and scraped....

Rats! I forgot AI was on. I had a movie from Netflix I got weeks ago and I finally watched it, "The Devil Wears Prada." It was okay, not great. I wish I remembered to record Idol. Anything good on it?

It was about the same as always. Lots of freaks and a few people who could actually sing. Do you remember the show American Juniors? It was a spin off of AI but with kids. We watched it and like it a lot, but I don't think the kids ever made an album or if they did it didn't do well. Anyway, one of the girls who made AJ top 20 when she was 12 years old, was back last night to try out for AI. She was horrible! I thought that was interesting. Then there was one guy who could sing but was so nervous he couldn't remember the words to the song. He almost didn't make it through to Hollywood, but they gave him another chance. But can you imagine if he was on a live show and did that?

I don't remember American Junior. I can understand being nervous, but you could never be the Idol if you forget the words to the song.

I'll have to try to set it up to record, so I don't forget it again.

Hey! We're approaching 4,000 posts in this little thread! :cool1:

Yeah! :cool1: party:

Though we do seem to be dropping like flies. Lately, it's just been me, you, Determined One, and the occasional visitor.

Where are you Smileybug, Little Blue, PaMom? :worship: (and others I've forgot because it's been so long since you visited.)

Well, then I guess that will make reaching 4,000 even more special, 'cause we did it all by ourselves! :woohoo: (well, lately anyway....!)

I guess SmileyBug is too busy in her new house. I don't know about the others. I'd say that LittleBlue is too busy having fun in FL, but you live there too so that's not an excuse, and perhaps PaMom is too busy dealing with winter but D.O. and I have that as well so that's not an excuse!

Speaking of dealing with winter we have another storm coming today, and our school district had the foresight to cancel school all together!! I was so shocked when I saw them listed in the few cancellations that have actually happened! I think they learned from the last time this happened, because even though it's fine out there right now, by early/mid-afternoon when school gets out, it will be pretty bad on the roads.

I'm heading to work but should be getting out just about when this starts.

Gotta run, have a great day all!

Your weather sounds crazy lately. It's very dreary here today. Just overcast and humid. It's going to be in the low 70's all day though. Yesterday, it started to heat up again. But it was still nice enough to sit outside while my little one played in the yard (and I almost passed out blowing bubbles at her repeated request.)

Hey everybody. Happy Friday (even though I have to work tomorrow.)

We got hit with seven inches of snow overnight. I was hoping our plant would shut down, but the new plant manager is from New York so seven inches means nothing to him. When we got to work the lot wasn't plowed and I got stuck. I was not a happy camper!!! And then I remembered we had to attend a mandatory meeting at the main facility. Of course none of us wanted to drive, especially not me. I got the ok from my boss to skip the meeting but the HR manager flexed his muscles and said we had to come and that we were just being silly for not wanting to drive over there. :confused3 So once again, I was not a happy camper. I don't think it's right how he expected us to drive there in such conditions and called us silly. We showed up to work, shouldn't that be enough? Normally I don't have such a negative attitude, but they push us hard to promote safety but call us silly when we don't want to do something unsafe. Okay, rant over.
:)

Geez, they couldn't do that much for you if they expected you to show up AND move around?! Nice. Just 'cause the manager is from a snow belt doesn't necessarily mean his employees are!

My DH stayed home from work tonight. We got very little snow before it turned to sleet, and that's to be followed by freezing rain. Yuck! When I got home from work at 1:15, it was raining little ice balls!:scared:

:sad2: I always tell my DH when his work asks him to do something unsafe that I will make a call to my lawyer so that I'm ready to sue when he gets killed. (For example, they are not allowed to spend more than $200 a night for a hotel, including in DC and NYC.) You would think a plant would be extra careful about safety. Guess only once you get in the building, they don't care if you get hurt on the way. :rolleyes1

This reminds me of the company my sister works for. They have rules like that about hotels. The one that gets me is they can't spend more than $20a day on food regardless of where they are.:sad2:

LOL! DH has a limit of $30. That's fine for many places, but not DC, NYC, or San Fran. He spent $70 on dinner alone in NYC one night, and even more the next. He takes cereal bars in his luggage for breakfast to try to save money. We actually lost money last week by him working. :headache:

Hi guys! Thought I'd better check in, before it's just you two in here! :lmao:

I'm having a pretty quiet Saturday night. DH is at work (isn't he always?!) and after the kiddos go to bed, I'll be doing some scrap booking. Since I set up a dedicated space in the den I find I'm getting at least a page done per day (as opposed to setting up on the kitchen table, then packing it all up for meals...).

Tomorrow is Superbowl Sunday! :cool1: Since I live in New England I'm sort of obliged to be excited and root for the Pats.... Actually of all the major sports, I can actually enjoy football once in a while!

ETA: Hey, who's gonna be post #4000?!...

Are you having people over for the game?

No, just us. My best friend and her husband usually come up for the Superbowl, but they are in New York City for a political memorabilia show of some sort (he's a huge collector). Yikes, I wouldn't want to be a Pats fan in NY this weekend!! :lmao:
