Mom2twinz3, I love hiking the Appalachain Trail. Of course, we are on opposite ends of it.:lmao: How was Indiana Jones? I heard some pretty bad reviews with a couple of people saying it was ok.

LegoMom, I know it can get pretty cold camping Memorial Day and Labor Day. When we go north camping during those times, we bring winter clothes. When you get up in the morning and can see your breath, you know it's cold. Or when you leave a drink outside all night with ice and the ice cubes are still in the cup in the morning, you know there was a reason you spent the night shivering. Glad you had a fun weekend and are feeling better. I missed not camping this weekend.

The boys went to Caledonia (sp?) State Park in PA to hike. They said they met up with a guy who was hiking the whole thing and this was just about the halfway point for him, so I guess the Maryland section is just a little bit more than halfway.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL

Good morning, Smileybug! I too love the little crab. Since I am in Maryland, I REALLy appreciate crabs!

We had a busy weekend. My older boys did 3 days of hiking on the Appalachian Trail for a Philmont shakedown. We took a tractor and snow blower to the farmer's auction and took the twins to see Indiana Jones.

Yesterday I picked up my very tired sons and did laundry and cooked out.

MeanQueen always has awesome weekends, and I love reading her reports. LegoMom's camping sounds good too. I love to camp.

Mary

It sounds like you had an exhausting weekend! My awesome weekends are coming to an end. We were trying to get as much use out of our passes before the heat came. Well, this weekend the heat came. Now it's time for more indoor activities and water sports.

Today my little one has tumbling class. I also have many tasks I have to get done, getting our older DD in at least one more summer camp, making swimming lessons for the little one, and finalizing school for older DD. I figured if I wrote them down here, I'd have to do them. :rotfl2:

Well, I guess if sharing your to-do list makes you more accountable. I need to do the same thing. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

I figured someone will ask a follow up question to remind me to do it, or just seeing it posted when I check in reminds me I should be doing something else. Just seeing it already has me going to the swim class website to see their schedule. :cool1:

....

Hey LegoMom. How are you and your DS feeling today? Colds all gone? My DD came home from her week at the beach with a bad cold.

Feeling much better but my head/sinus are still full..... Swimming, anyone?!:rotfl:

Actually we usually have much better weather for Labor Day. Still good and warm that time of year! May is such a crap shoot - might be warm and sunny, might be wet and yucky. We did NOT have any ice, thank goodness....

We have also hiked parts of AT here in NH. Usually up and along Franconia Ridge. I haven't done it in years but DH and I loved to hike like that in college and "B.C.!" (before children...!!). We'll be way up in Twin Mt. over the Fourth of July and I'm really looking forward to that trip! Might even do Santa's Village...::yes::

I'm off to work....see y'all later!

.

Good morning, all. Back at work today (again). Yesterday was just such a weird day. . .which makes today feel even odder for some reason. Good news is, dd9 is back at school. (Well, not really--she's going on a field trip today to Charleston) I'm kind of jealous of her. . .I'm at work and she's playing in my 2nd favorite place in the world.

Good morning!! I'm sure your DD will have a wonderful time on her field trip. What are some of the things she will be doing?

Hi everybody! :surfweb:

Has anyone seen the movie 'I Am Legend' with Will Smith? I rented it over the weekend and loved it!! Watched it twice and can't wait to buy it on DVD. Will Smith is hot!
::yes::

It looks too freaky for me. :scared1: Plus, someone ruined the end for me. :headache: Though I heard it's a good movie for Will Smith fans since the majority of it is just him and the dog.

Ah, I see, they went north to PA to hike instead of further south. I can't imagine being a thru hiking. I have met some on the trails over the years. Their packpacks look like they weigh nearly as much as me.

LegoMom, I miss the Santa's Village and Story Land trips. My kids are too old.

DeterminedOne, is that the newer Will Smith movie where he has a DD with a German Shepherd? If so, my DD saw it and thought it was a good movie. She also said it was sad and warned me I wouldn't want to see it.

Hi DeterminedOne. I have been thinking about watching this movie. but like Mean Queen and SadieDog I'm not so sure about it. My kids have seen it though and said it was a good movie. I still haven't watched Cloverfield.

Did any of you watch the Bachalorette last night? I think I'm going to feel lost tonight. NO AMERICAN IDOL!! :scared1: Maybe tonight will be a good night to watch Cloverfield. Actually I have Enchanted and 27 Dresses still to watch as well. Could be a movie night tonight.

I saw 27 Dresses this weekend. I thought it was very cute. A bit predictable but still good. I'm also a bit lost as to what to do without Idol tonight. A lady in my DD2's gym class said the same thing. I didn't realize until today she was also an Idol fan. :rotfl2: David Cook of course!

I really do think this was one of their best seasons. Last season almost caused me to give up on Idol. But they really redeemed themselves this go around. It's going to be interesting to see what next season will be like. Do you watch Nashville Star? That starts on Monday June 9th. I really do enjoy all types of music.

We are almost out of Storyland.....almost, but not quite! I took DS8 and DS6 there last summer while DS11 was at camp, figuring he wouldn't care anymore about going there. Wrong! He wasn't upset that I took his brothers and not him (realizing the privilege of going to camp!) but he was sad that he missed it!

Santa's Village we ALL love! Last year was the first time we'd ever gone (it's quite a haul from here to there!) and it was so much fun.

So, I'm enjoying the warm weather today! Nice to have it feel like summer. The leaves are all out now, too. I've got to get the rest of my garden in this afternoon! I felt so lousy last week that I couldn't muster the energy to do that.

Oh, I just realized on my desk-top countdown ticker on my computer (it keeps track of days/hours/minutes/seconds!), that I'm 3 days from being able to do the double-digit dance!!

  It's going to be a while before I can say that.

When American Idol is not on, I catch up on NCIS.

Nashville star sounds a bit scary.:rotfl2: The name sounds like it may be focused on Country music which is not my cup of tea. I would rather watch MTV.:lmao:

What is wrong with me....

that I am AS excited about all the places we're going to eat at Walt Disney World, as I am in just plain going there in the first place...?! I mean, our ADRs are some of the highlights of our trip!!...

:woohoo:

There isn't anything wrong with you. :rolleyes1 :lmao: You have just been to Disney enough times to finally be able to slow down and truly enjoy it. And that is a really GOOD thing!!:thumbsup2 (I still don't like the new smiley placement.)
