I'm back after a stint of end-of-semester paper carp and weekend wedding hoopla (not mine, I was the MOH).

I'm so very far behind, so if you don't mind, I'm just going to eeeaaaase back on in and not really review what I've missed. My subscriptions are out of control.

Anything crazy happen in the past week or so? Any new tags to be had? Alas, I'm still nekkid. Someone get this girls some clothes...er, tags!!!

Anyway, "tag" always makes me think of my oldest DD, who up until a year ago made me cut the tags off of any shirts, pants, or stuffed animals she owned!

Well, I called my Dr. yesterday to see why I wasn't checking my blood sugar levels. They want to wait until July when they take blood again. After the results come in they'll decide if I need to test daily.

But of course! Some of us have gotten tagged since we started this thread, but it's always nice to have a few more tagless join. That way we can renew efforts for a tag, just for someone else.

I hope your kitty is ok! And that you get some rest. I also feel bad for Davey. I hope he is able to break free from his dad, but I doubt that will happen.

My cat, Gimli, has 2 puncture wounds on his back leg. We have a stray cat around that has been causing problems. He comes onto my entryway to pick fights. The vet gave him another rabies shot even though he had one in Oct. He has antibiotics for 10 days. He is pretty difficult when trying to get him to take pills. Twice a day for 10 days is going to seem like a long time.

I hope I can stay awake for American Idol and Hell's Kitchen.

Our roof is coming along nicely although I don't currently have TV since the Dish antenna is down.... Hopefully it'll be back up by tonight. And hopefully we can get it re-aimed without have a service guy come out! Ugh.​

Morning all!

Welcome newbies from a newbie-ish one herself!

I handed in my final exam and final paper last night for my Research Methods class. I woke up feeling profoundly relaxed this morning now that that (and my friend's wedding) is over. I'm not taking any summer courses and feel like I have all the time in the world just for myself!

Of course much of that will be consumed by the DIS and trip planning/pre-trippie writing for my fall trip, but really...no complaints here.

SadieDog - I hope Gimli gets well soon. I hate it when my babies are hurtin'. Also, I love the name! A Lord of the Rings fan, I see.

PaMom - Hang in there. We're here for you!

Ah, nice to see another fan. We are Lord of the Rings obsessed in this house. My black with white female cat's name is Moria, named after the Mines of Moria. It was more difficult to come up with an easy to pronounce female LOTR name. I was was pretty pleased with myself when I thought of Moria. I once had a foster kitten that I named Smeagol b/c at 4 weeks old, his eyes bugged out of his head. We ended up adopting him but he died about 3 months later. He become suddenly sick and when I brought him to the vet, they suspected he had a blockage. Right before emergency surgery, he died on the operating table. The vet asked for permission to autopsy him b/c he wanted to understand the cause of death. Come to find out, his organs did not develop properly and he was destined to have a very short life. Though his life was short, he was a happy guy who brought us joy.

Gimli is already feeling a slight bit better, thank you. Now to struggle with giving him his pill.

Good to hear your baby is doing much better. Have you tried giving the pill in a bit of peanut butter?

That's much nicer than what I do. I shove the pill down my cats throat, hold their mouth closed, then rub their neck to make them swallow. They don't like people food, so I don't have many options.
