Tinkerbellarella I hope you don't have trouble getting tickets. Do they really sell out that fast? I was hoping to go Oct 13th, but can't purchase them yet. Need to sell a piece of waterfront property and we will be all set. I'm showing it today so maybe it will work out. Do you all feel MNSSHP is worth the price?

From what I hear it is worth the price IF you resign yourself to the fact that it will likely be crowded. I've been told to definitely not expect an empty-ish MK.

I don't want to worry everyone who's thinking about getting tickets. I'm only worried I'll run into an availability problem because our trip starts on the last day of Free Dining, like so many other people have done, and the party on the 23rd (of Sept.) is the only one we'll be able to attend. I don't have any negotiating room.

Deep down I think we'll be just find. It's just in my nature to be a worry-wart. The word "anxiety" is used so often in my therapy sessions that it's a good thing that I'm not paying by it's occurrance!! :rotfl:

I've never been, however, I know people of all ages, infant to elderly, who have been and LOVED it. From what I hear it is crowded, but still fun.

If Tinkerbellarella can't answer your question I know Mean Queen can. She is our resident Disney expert. She answers all of our questions. :thumbsup2

I shall wait for the Queen's answer. Is she like the Wizard of Oz here?:wizard:

No, but I find it very interesting and my daughter is considering it for a career. We are trying to sell the piece of land on our own 1st.

I truly wish you the best of luck and will send some pixie dust your way! pixiedust: We just took our house off the market because it just got too slow around here. Prices of homes in town were considerably lower than ours (we all started out in the same ballpark but they all kept dropping!), and despite the fact that our property has several things that the others don't, which justify the higher price we were asking, people don't seem to see those things and they just look at a price. So, rather than lose our shirts we pulled it and will wait and see what next spring brings.

And we're escaping New England and heading to Florida when we do sell!

:rotfl2: No, I'm just a Florida resident who goes to Disney a lot. Even though we're passholders, we still pay for MNSSHP every year for the past 5 years. Though with rising prices, this may be our last year for a bit. But probably not. Normally I would say you'd have no problem getting tickets for the end of September but free dining could cause you some trouble.

Here are the reasons we go every year:
Cool parade, amazing special fireworks, shorter lines, big bags of free candy (we usually give the extras away to our trick or treaters), and costumes.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer. But if you love Halloween, this is not to be missed.

I had actually considered it for our trip this year.

Then I looked at the ticket prices.... :scared:

It would be around $250 for our family of 5....!!!:scared1:

I just don't have that kind of cash kickin' around, y'know?!! (well, I would but then we'd very little spending money! :rotfl: ). I dunno, I guess for me, I feel I've already paid to be in the park, so it's a lot of cash to fork over for candy, a parade and some fireworks, no matter how spectacular any of it is. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to do it, just once! Maybe when we're AP holders...

Thanks for the pixie dust. We may need it. This is waterfront land, no house. I really don't know what to expect as far as a time frame for selling. It took a year to sell my grandmother's places after she died. She lived in one home that has an apartment above and there is also a small old house beside her. It took dropping the price and finding someone who wanted to buy them to use as 3 rental properties. The closing was just 2 weeks ago. Just in time b/c the estate ran out of $ and couldn't pay the taxes.

Sorry the housing market is so poor and you have to wait till next spring to try again. That must have been frustrating. Better luck next time. I can't imagine leaving Maine and moving to FL.

Dear LORD. If I have to hear the "All circuits are busy" recording one more time, I'm going to lose it. Still no tickets because I still can't get through.

Wow, it's that difficult to get through? Sorry to hear that. Hope it doesn't drive you crazy.

One word: winter...

Good morning, Babnanas (both tagged and nekkid).

Just wanted to stop in and wave hello before heading out. Hope everyone is doing okay and has a magical day today!

Mary

:rotfl2: I get it. You are sick of cold, snow and ice. We had so many storms this year, it did get old.

I have actually been sick of cold, snow and ice for many, many years...!:headache: This past winter just about killed me mentally. I enjoy NH for about 4 months out of the year - June through September. May would be ok if we didn't have Black flies come out in swarms, but it's like just when it's nice enough to finally spend time outdoors, those nasty little things drive you right back in!! I figure in Florida, those same 4 months are the ones we'll be inside, leaving 8 others to get out and play!

I am so in the wrong climate....:sad2:

I so totally understand what you are saying about black flies. Horrible creatures! They can drive a person/animal mad. When the cloud is so bad around you that you have to wear a bug net, it's time to flee. That's why when we are camping Memorail Day weekend and it's colder then normal, while shivering I keep telling myself, at least there are no bugs.

Mosquitoes are bad, but with a good swabbing of bug dope, you can pretty well keep them off you. Black flies, on the other hand, don't seem fazed by Deet (we use something called White Mountain on them; comes in a little bottle and smells almost minty) AND they try to fly up your nose and into your ears!!! :scared:

I am now at peace with Disney Travel.

I have my tickets. Two adults with shipping and handling was $107 and change.

Know what? This trip is actually starting to feel a little bit real!

Black flies are nasty. We don't have them but we get these funky looking bugs, that are completely harmless, that come out as winter starts to break into spring (read: last week). They look like a cross between a dragonfly and a mosquito. :crazy2:

I'm not a bug person. Keep the bugs.

Tinkerbellarella: YAY:cool1: You have your tickets! That's so exciting.

Normally I think bugs are cool. Not the ones that bite and pinch though. Black flies can really do a number on you. I've come out of the woods looking like I had chicken pox before. They like to get in your eyes too.

Congrats on getting the tickets Tinkerbellarella. You can arrive for MNSSHP around 4, though the party doesn't start until 7 (check close to the date to see if this changes). I'd recommend not doing a full park that day because it will be a late night. Are you going to wear a costume? Some people go all out. My group just wore matching mouseketeer t-shirts and mickey ears with our names on them. We may wear the same thing again. The kids change every year.

These black flies sound like a pain! Glad we don't have them here. While our lovebugs can be annoying, they don't hurt (unless you're paint on a car.)

Happy afternoon everyone!! And congrats to Tinkerbellarella for getting those tickets.

Very best of luck to you! I hope it sells! :cool1: :cool1: And I know it is not the easiest time to go into the business but if it matters, I love my job. And if your daughter is thinking of going into it because she would love the job, tell her to go for it! But if she thinks she will get rich... well... she could have rich months but...she can have some very dry ones too.

I am hoping things pick up soon. But are you really going to Florida????? :surfweb:
