Longest. Day. Ever. Seriously.

It must be a bad day with something sawing into your head like that. ;)

It's always a good idea to wait to talk until you are ready. This way you can figure out exactly what you want to say and not say. I hope things go well for you.

Today is feeling long because you have things on your mind.

Thanks for the hugs. And advice. This isn't an easy situation I'm in, in terms of decision-making.

I mean really, why can't everything be as easy as, "Disney - to go or not to go?"

That's an easy one for me.

Where is everyone?

I was SO behind on all of my other threads. Caught up now, though!

How about some happy talk. New tags anyone? :goodvibes

Smiley, what are the dates you'll be at WDW? I'm too lazy to try to do the math. Is this the trip you just changed to stay at POR?

(I double posted) A WDW trip is definitely something to be happy about!

If we get to actually take this trip we will be there from Nov. 30th to Dec. 5th at the WL. Why, what's up?

Just wondering. We're trying to figure out when to go see the Osbourne Lights. It's not the Christmas season without it for us. You'll be able to see them when you're there. :cool1: Why is the trip tentative?

This is our favorite time to go!! :goodvibes Just watching the economy. As small business owners things are hitting kind of hard right now. We have to put gas in 12 vehicals. So our monthly gas bill is high.:scared1: ::yes:: But our biggest thing is we are working really hard to get bills paid off so we don't have to worry about it so much in the future. So Disney may have to wait. But that is the good thing about Disney... it's always there!! :goodvibes But we won't make a decision about the trip until our 45 day mark. :thumbsup2 We really want to go though. ::yes::

Hi all.

Just thought I would let you know I am heading to my sons baseball game in a few minutes with winter socks, fleece pullover, rain coat and blanket. Last week we had WAY above average temps and now this. That's Maine for ya.

Smileybug, I hope you can take your trip to WL. Someday I would love to stay there.

Where have you been? I hope your sons team wins their game!! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you are having to bundle up like that to go. It's HOT here. ::yes:: And thanks for the happy thoughts about our trip. :goodvibes We will probably take it. We are just being realistic. And we really want to be debt free. ::yes::

We've given up on the debt free thing. It's just not possible for us. We're not very financially responsible. Though we were close to cancelling our Thanksgiving DCL cruise. We know our limits when it comes to the credit card, even though the credit card company thinks our limits are increasing. Luckily, DH got a few freelance jobs that will pay for the cruise and I'm finding as many ways to make extra money through the Budget board.

I've heard the WL is great at the holidays. We stayed there our last trip. I really enjoyed the boat to MK.

The biggest thing I would like to stress as far as budget goes is RETIREMENT PLANNING. ::yes::

The WL is awesome at the holidays. :goodvibes

I can't believe it has been all day and we are still on the same page.

:rolleyes1 Is hoping for a great inheiritance considered retirement planning? My in-laws have set up a trust fund for us, but with the economy, it looks like we're going to have to go with the inheiritance option. My DH also has a nice retirement plan through his work. I freelance, so I get nada for benefits.

A new page, a new page!!

One word of advice about company plans. They can be awesome. But if the company sells out or goes under you lose your money. :(

Okay, we really need to find a happy topic. I wonder where everyone else has been. Moms hasn't been on for a long while. I think Amanda is on vaca. PaMom pops in every now and them. As does DeterminedOne. LegoMom is always here. Who am I missing? I know I'm missing people. I guess we are just going to have to go on a hunt and bring them back.

I'm here!!

Don't have much to chat about that's happy, though! I am taking off work tomorrow to go to the funeral service for DS8's friend's dad.

And we got the official notice today that our elementary school failed the No Child Left Behind initiative...for the 2nd year in a row!!! I was looking at the graph that was sent home, with all the district elem. schools and how they did. I'm tellin' ya, we didn't just fail, they tanked. Wow. I had no idea they didn't make it last year, either. I'm not a fan of NCLB but this is really not good news. Then, I find out that they want to combine the 3rd and 4th grade classes next year (I'm still trying to find out exactly why) but that would put my DS8 going from a class of 11 kids, to one with over 30!!! WTH is the point of that???

We had already made the decision several weeks ago, to home school all the kids next fall, but if we hadn't, this would have sealed the deal! I guess by law, too, parents have the option of sending their kids to one of two other area elementary schools next year (one of them is outstanding, too!). It'll be interesting to see how this plays out!

Dear Santa,

I intend on being a good girl this year. Can't you tell by how proactive I am being with my Christmas list?

This Christmas I would like:

1. That pony. You know, the same one I've been requesting since '84?
2. One scratch ticket. But it has to be a winner.
3. A shiny new tag. Since it seems the TF has taken a sabbatical, I figured you're my next best chance. Don't worry. I'm sure I'll say something stupid enough in time for 12/25.

'Preciate it. Stay cool. Tell Mrs. C I said, "What up homegirl!"

Love,

Tinkerbellarella

Well, since there are no new tags that isn't very happy talk now is it. :rolleyes1

Three years ago when my family and I went to WDW, I had planned on taking a friend of mine and her 2 kids to WDW with us. My friend & her kids never went. Well I got fired that August and we were due to go in December. My parents have a time share so that was no problem. My parents paid for me & my DD's plane tickets and I had to tell my friend that WDW was cancelled.

Well, my friend got remarried in Oct. 2006 and they had a baby in Nov. 2007. Now if this job works out I think that I'll attempt to go to WDW in Dec. 2009. I'll try to swing them, too. I'll probably have them pay 25% of the cost even though they will be 5 vs. just us 2. I don't know if her new hubby has ever been, I know for sure that she and her kids have never been.

This would really be a trip of a lifetime for them. Both of our DD's will be 13 then and in 8th grade. Her DD will be turning 11 or 12 in Dec. 2009. The baby would be 25 months old.

Does this qualify as happy talk? It is about WDW.
