PaMom - so, are you surviving the teen thing??.....I'm wondering, does your daughter sometimes seem like two different people? My DS can really be a nice, considerate person. Then other times he's like the Tazmanian devil from the old cartoons.....

That puppy is just adorable!! But thank goodness he isn't black with a stripe down his back.

The sunset picture is beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. How blessed ya'll are to have that out your front door. I just have no words for it.

I want to ask you about your DS 12's bedroom colors. How did the black walls turn out? I saw a master bedroom on HGTV a few weeks ago that was black. The ceiling and trim were in white. It was actually a very attractive room. Very formal because of the furniture and bedding.

My DD is a sweet kid, but man, she's annoying as all heck. Always wants to be thisclosetomeanditdrivesmeNUTS!! It's getting really hard for me to make her do her chores.

Since LegoMom shared beautiful pictures, I'll share one of the alpaca's DD & I work with.

PaMom those are SO CUTE!! I love alpacas. I love the "mop" look on their heads. Are they a generally friendly animal?

PaMom, those Alpacas are adorable!! One of my sisters neighbors raises them. He even shows some of them.

The male alpacas are more "friendly" than the females. The females worry about the babies, so they run first. The males do run too, but, they are not as quick to run as the females. The "mop" on the head of alpacas & llamas is to help keep the sun out of their eyes. The photo was taken at the world wide thingie then bentpinealpacas (then dot) com. I just took my neice & nephews to see them. My 7 year old neice and 11 year old nephew rode the Latte the llama. Here is his picture, I don't put pictures of kids on the web that don't belong to me.

So tired from this cold and crazy bounce house day at daycare. It was a fun day for the kids, but I am wiped.

His black is actually what I would call a very dark gray. It's called "Umbrella Black". It's black, but not "formal" black. I think it looks pretty good, actually! I was skeptical at first. When he cleans it up a bit (yeah, right...) I'll take a picture for you.

We figure he's a lab mix of some kind. And yes, he's a perfect "boy's dog!" DS9 is especially fond of dogs and he loves to run around with them (there's a black dog too; she's full grown...also a bit thin but not as bad as the puppy).

And yeah, where is everyone else?? This has become like the Smileybug/SadieDog/PaMom/LegoMom show!!

creativeamanda.....I am so sorry about yesterdays events at your school. I just don't know what to say......Well, I do. But I really like it here on the Dis. I'm just thankful all is okay.

I think instead of saying "ya'll have a good day". My hope is that you all have a stress free day.

Certainly need a stress-free one. . .so far real quiet today. Thank goodness!

Well for those who need it, IT'S FRIDAY!! Hang in there....weekend's almost here.

Looks like we have a chance of rain here today. Won't be anything great if we do, but any rain helps right now.

We put in place this year some new safety procedures that apparently work. This young man would never have gained entrance to the building because he did not have an official school id. Even teachers and staff can't get in without id. And I mean, you can't get in. All entrances are locked. Those girls who reported seeing the gun are to be commended. This is obviously gang-related.

But there is nothing like being in your class, starting the day, minding your business, when all of the sudden the bell rings like ours does in an emergency. Sitting there for 2 hours with the kids in the dark is no fun.

And having to let SWAT come in your room is no fun, either. My nerves were shot yesterday.

First break now today, and so far, so good. I hope people learned a lesson. Even the small town of Mullins, SC, is not an easy place to do foolishness.

I am so glad that the new safety procedures worked. But on the other hand... It is just so sad that we have come to the point of needing them to protect our children.
