I think that sounds like a great plan. I know how you feel. I have such a hard time envisioning our next family trip as not including any dining plan, which means I'll have to budget and save and not have "everything" paid off in advance, so it's definitely weird.

Have you thought of separating out the purchase of the tickets? Maybe 1 at a time? Because they're not active until you use them, you could get them from one of the discounted sites, you know? Just an idea.

Reason #209 why TK ROCKS!!!

:flower3:Well color me embarrassed.... no, as a matter of fact I've never thought of that. And it's perfect.....

You're welcome. I just know if I had the same issue, I'd want to spread out the spending. It might even be easier to make it part of your budget, too. :thumbsup2

Yeah, that's exactly what I need to do. The trip is still over a year away () so theoretically I should have time to do this! The campsite in value season is around $43/night, plus I should get a AAA discount of 15 or 20%. I could have that paid off in 5 weeks (one night each week plus the deposit). It's those tix that will be the bulk of the expense! We're talking around $1,300!! But viewing it in terms of buying one ticket at a time, somehow seems "easier." Kind of like the old "how do you eat an elephant?...one bite at a time!" saying.

Are you guys all ready for your trip??! The waiting at the end is the hardest part....

.

I was going to suggest the same thing that TK did. . .I'm so glad she did it.

Throwing down $1300 at one time can in no way be fun. I think it would drive me crazy. I have a whole payment plan made up in my mind for the December trip, but with it coming up so close, the $500 a month I plan on sending to Disney is going to drive me bonkers!

I am so glad you are enjoying Texas, Legomom.

Also I'm happy TK is starting to feel better.

Last night I learned a valuable lesson. DD10 is allergic to latex, which also can manifest itself in allergies to banana, kiwi, pineapple. Lots of food contain that same protein. Now, I've noticed recently when I put a bandaid on, a rash sometimes forms around it. And I can't use the gloves at school for changing diapers. I had to order powder free, latex free. I thought it was the powder that was the problem. Last night I ate something I have not had in a long time--fresh pineapple. I broke out in the worst rash I have seen in a long time. Apprently, I have the same allergies dd10 has, just was too thick to realize I was developing that allergy. My tongue is still so raw, I can't eat much today--my tongue even has a rash. Long weekend. . .and I guess a Lapu Lapu is out of the question. . .

Hi-ho, Hi-ho, off to work I go....man, I forgot how getting up early sucks.

It does feel like so much money. I would just think of how much you're saving by camping, and try to look at it like that. You're going to have such a great time, I can't wait for the next LegoClan trip. :goodvibes

For the most part. There are very few loose ends to tie up. Ever since I bought my new car (you knew that, right?), I've completely gotten rid of extraneous spending. We don't buy anything unless we need it. Food, gas, groceries. That's it. That being said, I will need a booster seat for DS to have in the towncar, and I still need to get his Wall E costume. While I was sick, I missed out on bidding on one on Ebay that went so inexpensively, I could kick myself. Ah, well. Other than that, we'll have the little things like glow necklaces, camera batteries, and I'll probably make a few more tie dye Mickey head shirts.

Have I told you how much my DS loves those? "Mama, I can wear my colored shirt?" :goodvibes

It's good to have a payment plan set up. I agree, it really helps soften the blow.

Thanks! I'm still tired, but I'm definitely on the mend.

I had absolutely no idea that latex allergy could be related to fruit allergies. You learn something new every day.

I am bummed for you that you can't have a Lapu Lapu, and I hope your tongue/mouth feels better soon!

Hi-ho, Hi-ho, off to work I go....man, I forgot how getting up early sucks.

Ah, hon, I hope you have a good day.

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

I hope its a good one for all of you. :grouphug:

Morning, Smiley!

Love the big ole hug, thanks. :goodvibes

I still feel like crap. I have an appt tomorrow morning for OMT for my sinuses. I'm afraid I may be too late. I am on the verge of a sinus infection. This has been one doozy of a cold. Everyone at daycare has it. There have been a handful of colds that I fought off, but this one stuck to everyone.

Saturday my daughter moves into her college dorm.

TK, glad you are feeling better.

creativeamanda, sorry about the allergies. I didn't know latex could relate to food either.

Guess what, y'all!!

I just officially booked our next trip!

At Fort Wilderness!!:banana::banana:

For Thanksgiving next year!!!:banana::banana::banana:

.

SadieDog, I am SO sorry you're feeling so awful again!! Working at a day care cannot be good in that respect....:sad2: DH had a sinus infection last March (in the midst of packing and moving) and it didn't look pleasant. Take it as easy as possible and get better soon!

.

LegoMom....WOOHOO!! :banana::banana::banana: On the trip!!!!

SadieDog....I'm sorry you are feeling so bad.

TK.....:woohoo:Sounds like things are returning to normal in your world.

creativeamanda....I guess you have taught us all something new about allergies. :goodvibes

Where has Mean Queen been? Maybe I just keep missing her. :confused3 I know most of you chat on your facebook accounts. I'm glad you all still drop in here. :goodvibes

I have been wondering the same thing myself. I see her on Facebook but only updates to games she's playing and such. Actually, with my DIS friends who are on FB, we don't usually chat over there! So don't worry, Smileybug, you're not missing anything.

Oh Meeeean Queeeen!......where ARE you??!

.

I don't even have the energy to multiquote. I still feel pissy and need rest, but even though we have the kids' homework done, mine isn't, dinner is not finished (though it's on the stove), the dishes aren't washed, the laundry isn't folded, and I have three blisters on my feet that need attending to.

Legomom, congrats on booking your vacation! I know you are super excited and I am glad! I can't wait to read a Ft. Wilderness PTR/TR!

PAMom001--Hope you had a good day today. My first day went smoothly, and I hope it did so for you. Today, the 6th day, however. Well, I'll just leave it there. Is that a dangling participle? And who really cares?

The food allergies--well--latex is a plant product, so it is natural that plants containing a similar protein would cause a cross reaction at times. I can still eat bananas (thank heavens), but I will never touch pineapple again. I still can't taste stuff.

Smileybug, Smileybug, Smileybug! Yeah, that's about it.

Haven't seen Mean Queen except on FB, either. And come to think of it, Anna (seewhattimesdone), either.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. It is difficult working in daycare when you feel awful. I still give the kids lots of time and attention just at a slower pace. I am normally very active. My slower pace is still more involved than other caretakers I have come to view over the years.

LegoMom, a camping trip planned for Fort Wilderness is SO ECXITING.

Evening ya'll. :goodvibes

Well, supper is done and the kitchen is clean and closed for the night. I finally get to sit down and put my feet up. I hope everyone finds their restful spot tonight. I think we all need it. :flower3:

Oh, hon. I feel very grateful that mine didn't turn into one, and I'm sorry that yours seems to be. Sinus infections stink. Big time. I hope you get some good drugs to help make it better. :goodvibes

Wow!

TK, glad you are feeling better.

Thanks! Being active today really wiped me out though, so I'm off to bed in a jiffy. :thumbsup2

Hey, did the position of the smilies change again? I thought the babnana was somewhere else :scratchin

Hon, I know how you feel. Those days are not fun. Have a big ole :grouphug: from me, okay?

Sounds lovely! I'm off to go find my restful spot. :cloud9:

TK, when you find your restful spot please let me know. Maybe you could provide hints as to where mine is. :goodvibes

Today I personally didn't get much done. All I got accomplished was combining 3 cabinets of files into one vertical file. We had about a 2 hour or so meeting. What with 3 teachers and 11 aides, it took awhile for introductions. I don't get paid if I show up tomorrow, so I won't go back to school till Wednesday which is when the kids come back. Some stupid man must've thought this up. Why not just have the aides off on Monday & have us work on Tuesday. :confused3:sad2:

DD & I got our hair cut. It was the first time for me since before school ended in June. DD got hers cut sometime in July. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH, short hair again feels sooooo good.

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

PaMom....enjoy your day. :thumbsup2 I just got my hair cut to. Its a little to short. But it sure needed the trim. :)

I hope its a good one for all of you. :flower3:

Turned out my most restful spot was my bed. :lmao: I went to bed at 9:15 last night, and that felt really good, since I've been sick. I feel even better today, but still have a lingering cough which is so attractive. ;)

Oh, I love a good hair cut. :goodvibes I'm due for one soon, but I'm trying to plan it around my upcoming trip so my hair isn't too short when I go.

Morning, Smiley! Hope you have a nice day, too.

I'm working on some more Mickey tie dye shirts, and they're currently in the wash, so I can't wait to see how they come out. :goodvibes
