All this talk about restaurants is making me hungry.

Kids, you are missing the boat on the TIW card, it's all about the free Valet service, well not quite free when you add the tip.

Seriously there is nothing quite like driving up to the Grande Floridian/Yachtsman/Beach Club etc and telling the valet to park the car. They say it will be $10 or so and I say "I have the TIW card"! Off we go for dinner. If you haven't done so try it. It's especially fun when you and your family/friends are in those big 12-15 seat vans, oh the looks from the staff, worth every penny!!

A bit off topic... How does it show the discount on the receipt? 20% off at the bottom? Or 20% off each item?
And if one card is good for 10 people, what would they do for 10 entres ordered by 12 people?

It works for us. We have APs so the card is only $75. Two things to remember.

Con - You can not use it on certain holidays.
Pro - The tip is already figured in, so you don't have to worry about that.

Thanks for re-posting this - saves me from working out the math (again) this year. I do this every few years, because I keep forgetting how it all breaks down!

one only need spend $469.48 to break even with the TiW card.

That's not hard to do, even for two people. That's about 8 TS meals for the two of us, so 4 nights. We usually get 18-21 nights out of our AP, so the TiW is an easy YES for us.

I just want to make sure that I am correct in my thinking. When I go to the TIW site and look at the restaurants that participate and compare them to the restaurants that participate in the DVC and AP discount, it seems as if more restaurants participate in the TIW. Is that correct? I am not missing anything am I? Thanks!

It is worth the money if you plan on eating out a lot. I find it irksome that you have to pay for the "privilege" of a dining discount at WDW. my Disneyland annual pass give me an automatic 15% dining discount for table service and 10% for quick service.

I usually travel with my three young adult sons, we stay an average of 10 days and usually do TS for dinner every night, and often at the signature restaurants. We used to do DDP but with the value declining we decided to do TIW last trip. We definitely saved money over DDP. And as someone else posted we don't need to have two desserts every day. Two of my sons are also of drinking age now so we save on alcohol now as well.

When TiW was first made available to DVC, it was set at $100 - which at the time I thought odd since the passholder disocount was $75.

But, when the new pricing came out after that offering, the passholder price went up to $100 and FL resident $125. Honestly, I think it's odd that residents have to pay $125. I get it, they're there and can "leverage" the card more. But if I'm there that often I probably have an annual pass.

Maybe it's just another incentive for FL residents to buy annual passes.

None the less, it's been $100 for close to if not over a year now.

FYI - Your breakeven point would be around $750 - give or take because of any alcoholic beverages. Your DVC membership gives you 10% at most places, so you'd have to take that into consideration as well.

Just curious, where is $750 coming from?
