Anyone have any opinions/suggestions for a nice table service (not Signature) w/ kids (specifically a toddler)? We're considering Le Cellier, but I've read about 2 hour dinners, and that's not going to go over very well w/ DD. We've got plenty of character meals planned, so something non-character is fine.
Any thoughts? Anyone have personal experience w/ kids at Le Cellier? Thanks! ::MickeyMo

We started going to Disney World when our sons were 3 - 4 yo and have always taken them to table service restaurants at DW. We've also been to Le Cellier many times and we've not experienced that long of a dinner, but I'm sure times vary depending on the waiter/waitress you get. They will bring the bread/pretzel sticks to your table early and also a coloring book and crayons for your DD to keep her busy. I'd give it a try since the food is so good and your at Disney World, there will be lots of kids at most all restaurants. :goodvibes

We just ate at Le Cellier last night with our son who will be 3 years old this month. It only took us about 1 hour to eat, and we had an appetizer, entree and dessert. There were quite a few kids there when we were there as well. I have to add this is the best meal we have ever had at any WDW restaurant! Definitely try it! The staff was excellent at entertaining our son, and he was not in the best of moods I must admit. They went out of their way to make him smile. Enjoy!

We went Nov 25 with a 15 month old. It took about 1 hour for everything. 15 month old was not in a good mood until food arrived, then was fine. He loved the Cheese Soup.
If your kid can handle a normal 1 hour meal, LeCellier will be no problem. Also the food is great :cool1:

I wouldn't bring my own daughter as a toddler to the signature places, but I would have to Le Cellier (my son could always go to any restaurant).

Here is some advice:

1. Eat early, you have the best chance with an early ADR of not having to wait to get seated.

2. Know what you want before your waiter(ress) reaches the table. Look at the menus earlier in the day (they are posted outside the restuarant). Look at allearsnet (subject to change, but it will give you an idea).

3. Let you waiter know that your toddler isn't going to tolerate a long meal and anything they can do to move it along will help. Most will jump to the task of getting your food promptly. They should also warn you if you order anything time consuming to get.

4. Order all your courses at once. And consider just ordering dessert to go. It will be lovely on your balcony while your daughter goes to sleep!

5. Make sure to bring cherrios/goldfish/finger snack of your choice. My kids were never toy/crayon kids (until about two years later) but some parents have luck with that sort of thing.

6. Finally, don't expect a quiet leisurely meal (though some kids cooperate). Ours were usually exhausted enough by their day to behave well through a short meal.

with a 9 year old and a 5 year old, and they were tired.... They did Great..
The food is awesome, we had the cheddar cheese soup and of course the pretzel breads.. I think we were out of there under two hours... almost everyone in our party did the Fillet Mignon with the mushrooms, to die for !!!!

I think it's a kid friendly place EVEN though it's fairly fancy... They have paper to color and crayons, I think kids do fine here!!!!

Enjoy!!!

We're going down in Feb. with a 6 yr. old and a almost 3 yr. old and have ressies at LeCellier. Our kids are generally fine in a resturant but we'll carry a couple of small toys just in case. I can't wait to eat there, I've heard great things about the food. :cool1:
