This is true. The first shop owner I worked for (actually the only one until I opened up myself--alone) had no business knowledge but she married a college graduate with a degree in business. He came in and tried to run the salon as he learned and that didn't work out perfectly either, lol. A salon is different--I have no idea why, but it is...maybe it is the egos and the drama and the skill levels you have to work with.

Maybe it is because the stylists can walk away so easily and quickly.

I'm not sure but after working in a high end salon, I knew I no longer wanted to own one myself, THAT was for sure!
My ex-boss had to ask her DH to step away and she's still going strong 28 yrs later so I guess she figured it out as best as anyone can. It was nothing like those salons Tabitha goes into! Ugh!!

For the most part, she ran a tight ship.
