TA found a great deal...Discovery Cove....BUT....

My TA is top notch...she looks everywhere for deals to save me money on our upcoming trip. She found a great deal with American Express card and Discovery Cove...almost a $500 savings! (Wow what a relief that would be to my worry about budget due to airfare rising). The only catch is it is through American Express...doing Dave Ramsey we have no credit cards, let alone American Express. The sale for these tickets start the 12th of April...no time to even apply for a card. My TA and a friend has an American Express and so does my sister...they said I could use their cards...and pay them the cash. The only thing is reading the small print it says the tickets are non transferable...do you think they could book the tickets in my name using their card? Looking for anyone that might have any experience with using American Express Discover America Getaways.

You could probably apply for an Amec Card at Costco and at least get a number to use over the phone/internet.

Call and ask. Say you want to buy tickets for your sister. Will she have to show the CC?

Last year people bought Amex gift cards and used them. There is a small fee to buy them but you can buy them with cash.

The name on the reservation does not need to be paid for with a credit card in the same name. Anyone can pay for it.

Never mind, I just found it! Great deal, we were able to do this last year with a different Amex promotion and had an amazing time... Would love to be able to do this again... We'll see!!

SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! I clicked on it right at 11am and nothing.... now it says totally sold out I purchased AMEX gift cards for this so now I'm out the $20 for that and no tickets

I clicked non stop for 35 minutes starting from 12pm, It said it was in another person carteach time (must have done it 300 times) then it said sold out. Never said there were limited supplies either.

There goes 30 min of my life i will never get back

I was able to get 2 tickets to Discovery Cove. I think there were less than 100 even available (someone copied and pasted the info on another thread (in the Sea World/Discovery Cove forum) from the Discover America website and "Only 85 available" appeared when the poster pasted the info here; it was "hidden" on the Discover America website [I don't know if that means there really was only 85 available or what]). I just kept refreshing my page starting at 11:57 ET and RIGHT when it turned to 12 on my cell phone it was available. Very nerve wracking. I hope other deals come out soon for those that weren't able to get them.

Congrats to you! I must admit that I am very jealous!! I was doing the same thing - refresshing since 11:57/11:58 and right when it came up - it said no go. I guess I am just no that lucky.

I really wish they would come out with more - oh well

I had the same experience I managed to get Busch Garden tickets in my cart but dumped them because I will get a better ticket price if I add th $50 ultimate ticket onto Discovery cove. That will allow us to go to Aquatica also
