Anyone ever been to this restaurant in Downtown Disney. We thought it looked cool but would like to know if it's any good? TIA!

Yes, very cool! I'm not sure if you have children or the ages but our small boys loved it! We sat in the back close to the ice room. Every 15 min there was a meteor shower. The dinosaurs were cool and the sounds effects fun! The food was also good. No complaints from our large group. Kids also loved digging for fossils and Build a Dino. Enjoy!

Thanks! Yes, I have a DS who will be turning 4 (the week we go down) and I have showed him pictures and he is really excited about it!

It is a neat restaurant. It can be overwhelming and even a bit scary. My ds was a bit scared when he was 4 but mostly ok. When the meteor shower occurs it gets dark and loud.

If you have ever dines at Rainforest Cafe it is the same experience but replace the decor with dinos. The food is moderately ok. I'm not a huge fan. It's fine but nothing to write home about.

I agree with PP except of the two I prefer Rainforest Cafe. The kiddies seem to like both. I personally did not like the ice cave and will never sit in there - just passing through to the restrooms was enough for me. The lights are very bright and strobe -like and make me slightly nauseous  The food is just ok so it's the experience for the kiddies that most people go for.

We have been there a few times and it was great every time. My DS LOVED it and the food was good every time and great service (one time the service was not so great, but as we had been before and had great service, we knew we just were unlucky with that one server)

We've been to Rainforest Cafe in different states, but there aren't many T-Rex restaurants, and DH is a dinosaur buff, so it was a fun experience for us.

The food isn't all that wonderful, but it's pretty much on-par with most Disney resort restaurants.

Some kids are frightened by the dinosaurs, but we've also seen a kid flip-out at Rainforest. Tho he may have had autism or other sensory issues. He started screaming at the top of his lungs and his family made a beeline for the closest exit.

We went there last October. I have two daughters - 2.5 and 5.5 years old - who like dinosaurs. We had a blast. Great atmosphere. Food is decent and expensive (as you would expect).

I could definitely see how some small children might get scared.

We are not really big on downtown Disney, but we stayed off-site last time (near DTD) and decided to go there on our arrival day (did not do parks). We absolutely loved it. We are going to WDW again in June but will not go as we are staying onsite and don't really have any other reason to go to DTD (I know a lot of others like it though).

The food is good and the atmosphere is out of this world! That being said, we will be going back this summer.

DS (13 at the time) and myself dined at T-rex on our trip in May 2010. We thought it was great! We decided to share the nacho appetizer and it was HUGE! We couldn't finish it all! DS had 2 smoothies as his drink and said they were the best he had ever had. We are going back to WDW this May and were going to do T-rex again, but decided on Rainforest this time. We are taking DD for her first trip (she will be 3yrs. in 2 weeks) and we were afraid the dino's may frighten her some. I am sure you will love it and your kids will for sure! Have fun!

I agree with you about the ice room. We were seated next to it and that was great but would not want to sit in it. It was cool to see but I don't think I could deal with the changing lights for that long either. We liked it and will be going back someday :)

It is a fun restaurant. Quite loud though. The kids like it and had really been looking forward to build a Dino. I was prepared for so-so food and was surprised that I loved what I ordered. It was a steak sandwich- like a Philly cheesesteak type thing- and it was really good. I would go back.

I have been to the T-Rex restaurant once and probably won't go back. We were in the Ice Cave Room and, while the atmosphere / decor is really cool, it took FOREVER to get our food and we just about froze to death in the air-conditioning. I prefer the food choices at the Rainforest Cafe.

We always sit at the bar...only adults in our party!! Anyway, we love T-Rex!! The drinks are good and the food is decent...no it isn't fine dining but the lava soup is delish as is the flatbread. DH had a burger this last time and said it was quite good. You can get pretty much anything you can dream up on it. And the salads are good too!! I had the chicken fried steak this last time and it was pretty good...ask for more gravy.

Be prepared that it's REALLY loud-- At least twice as loud as Rain Forest Cafe. We love rain forest cafe, but I don't think we'll be going back to T-rex. The whole dining experience just seemed loud and stressful. --Katie

I was thrilled to learn that Trex and Rainforest had been added to the dining plan :D My sister and My nephew will be going to Disney for the first time this year and Trex will be perfect for him!! My family had always wanted to try it too. We are so excited he will be 11 and this is his first time ever!!!
