Is there any information about whether T-Rex will be on the dining plan?

I assume it won't since it's the same company that owns the Rainforest Cafe and they do not take the DDP.

Odds are no. Its not disney owned and the owner of the RFC doesnt take the DDP either

At least one poster has received information from T-Rex that it will accept the premium and platinum plans and wine and dine, but not the regular or deluxe dining plans.

Rainforest Cafe does the same.

What is T-Rex? and where is it located?

I tried making a reservation there for our trip in late October (it is said to open Oct. 12). WDW dining said I had to book on the internet. I did a search and found a website for T-Rex in Kansas City and called there. The girl that answered the phone claimed she had no idea a new T-Rex was opening in Orlando and said "You can't make a reservation for a restaurant that isn't even open yet anyway." Obviously she is not a Disney fan or has never heard of the 180 ADR window.

So anyone know how to make a reservation here?

You can't make a reservation there. According to the information being received by posters who have contacted T-Rex, they open for business at Downtown Disney October 14 but will take only walkups until sometime in January.

They may also follow Rainforest Cafe at DTD in their reservation procedure - you may not be able to make the reservations through Disney. T-Rex is owned by Landry's, the same company that owns Rainforest Cafe. You may need to contact T-Rex directly, which is what must be done with the DTD RFC. The RFC at AK is available through the Disney reservations system.

We are trying to find out the hours of operation, my son is bonkers for Dinosaurs and it is a must do on our list. Disney res. had no info and the T-rex website has no info either. Does anyone know? Also where is the location at Downtown, is it located in the pleasure Island section?

It's right near the McDonald's and Lego store.. Marketplace side.

Great news. I was hoping it to Platinum but even the IPO office hasn't recieved any information yet. Now I just have to wait for her to be able to make a reservation.

This is a copy of the reply I recv'd from them asking about when/how we could get reservations and if being a RFC club member helped it along(not!) So I guess we will be standing in line with everbody else as this is a must do for us!!

Thank you for your inquiry into the new T-Rex Orlando! At this time our restaurant is scheduled to open in mid October of 2008 and we will be on a walk-in basis only until 2009. You may check our website at anytime for updates on our opening. If you are in the Disney area and are looking for a WILD time, don’t forget to call one of our Rainforest Café properties for a priority seating. We have one located at the entrance to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park which you can reach at 407-938-9100 and one at Downtown Disney Marketplace (a block away from our new T-Rex site) which can be reached at 407-827-8500.

We're looking forward to trying this in May 2009. We'll do it for dinner on the day DD and I do CRT for lunch (DH and DS will do CS). This seems like it will be the best "boy" themed place (most appealing to him I think, I mean). DD and I will use all 4 of our TS credits for the day at CRT, so it works out for us to pay OOP at T-Rex. I figure her and I will probably be pretty full from lunch, though, so we may just split an appetizer or something. That will keep costs down a bit.
