T-Rex restaurant at Downtown Disney

Yeah!! Do we know if they accept the dining plan. Either way, I think I might try to make a reservation for our first night there.

Im pretty sure they wont take the ddp and the dining line wont be able to help you as no other info has been released

As of late this afternoon, the dining line still couldn't take reservations yet and didn't have word of the opening date yet. I was calling for other ADR's, but mentioned I'd heard TRex was opening Oct. 14 and the CM said they hadn't received word yet.

I called the WDW Dine # last night, and was told they may start taking ADR's beginning of Sept. (usually 60 days in advance- but that would be appx 45 days for the opening in October) She thought that since it was a Disney owned restaurant, they may be on the dining plan, but nothing confirmed.

The CM was not correct...It is not a Disney owned restaurant...

I do not think that they will take the dining plan, but here is to hoping :goodvibes

Just a note about the CM - she's wrong that it's Disney owned. Not saying that it can't be part of the dining plan, just that she's wrong that it's Disney owned.

http://www.trexcafe.com/

This is the link to the T-Rex Cafe website. It's a chain that is owned by Landry's (same company that owns Rainforest Cafe)

If it does open Oct. 14, I want to try to make an ADR for the 24th which is a Friday...any idea what the hours will be. We arrive that night so we would need a late reservation (9pm). Thanks!!! Great thread by the way!!

I would guess that since it's owned by Landry and in the same location as another Landry property that the hours will be the same as Rainforest Cafe.

Rainforest Cafe is open
Sun-Thurs 11:30a - 11:00p
Fri-Sat 11:30a - midnight

From earlier posts it looks like they may be taking walk-ups only until January of 2009.

:thumbsup2 Thanks Tricia. I missed the earlier post regarding walk-ups only. We may have to pass then. I would guess with it being new the wait would be awful. I hope they will take ADR's......

I just got off the phone with WDW Dine, and they confirmed what you said. After doing some checking she said walk-ups only, no reservations. She did not say anything about Jan 2009 though. She said it will be just like the Rainforest Cafe at DTD. I am not familiar with how it works for the Rainforest Cafe. Can anyone fill me in? Is it really just walk-up, and that's it? No call ahead seating to get in line or anything? Thanks for your help!

Rainforest Cafe in DTD takes reservations if you call them directly. No reservations through WDW Dine for the DTD location. Rainforest Cafe at AK DOES take reservations through WDW Dine.

I would guess that the CM was referring to the DTD location when saying it'd be like Rainforest Cafe. At this point, without official word, we really don't know for sure one way or the other.

Disney dining will not be taking reservations for the TREX at this time and there has been no formal announcement of its opening. Now it is correct that it is owned by Landry's (same as rainforest) and the Rainforest at DTD does not use the Dis Dining reservation line.

BTW, this is the official information i received from Dis.

I hate it when I get all excited hoping that the CM's give me accurate information:rotfl: I guess we'll have to hope that they add it to the DPP in 2009:laughing: Thanks to all of you who rec'd better info than I did!

The information that is coming from T-Rex (that others have posted) is that it will accept the platinum and premium plans plus Wine & Dine, but not the regular or deluxe dining plan. This is what Rainforest Cafe does, so it's not a big surprise.
