I just want to warn you to not bother wasting your money at this tourist trap it was horrible and after leaving needed a bathroom.:furious:

Oh no! We are eating there in Dec. my 2year old loves dinosaurs & we have a $50 gift certificate. What did you eat?

Layers of the Earth Lasagna - Fresh pasta layered with homemade tomato and meat sauce, Ricotta, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, baked to perfection
and for would let us get the dessert we wanted saying you need 4 credits.I was like its the same price of 2 and the waitress said you can't. So got this instead Ice Age Indulgence - Layers of ice cream sandwiches, fudge sauce, whipped cream and Heath Bar Crunch $8.99

We were there in June and loved it. We had 3 kids with us that love dinosaurs, ate every bite of their food, and have already asked if we can go back again. What we don't like are Coral Reef and LeCellier... to each his own I guess...

We ate there last week and we all enjoyed our appetizers and mixed drinks. The entrees were the worst entrees we had during our trip.

I've been thinking about taking our 3 boys there, but the menu doesn't thrill me..... they would love the place but maybe rainforest cafe or another place would be a better value or more enjoyable?

Never been there but throwing all that ice cream on top of massive amounts of cheese would probably do me in.

I usually lurk around the boards but when I seen this and read that you didn't enjoy T-Rex I have to say we loved it!!! I had the layers of earth lasagna as well and thoroughly enjoyed it and will be going back. Sorry you didn't enjoy it.

It is what it is....a place that your kids will love with average food for the money. I'm not fond of it or Rainforest cafe (actually both are pretty neat but once was enough for me) but my daughter loves it so I'll continue to go and from the lines I always see at both I would say most agree. If you want great food there are better options but if you want a meal that will entertain your children it is the place.

We ate there in the summer and I was surprised that we enjoyed it. I had the lasagna as well and liked it.

I already knew the limits with the dining plan so I wasn't surprised about the big dessert not being available and we were full anyways.

You could just take them to see the Lobby and Gift shop? they also have a build a dino shop owned by build a bear where you can make a dinosaur....we're doing that this trip and my 6yo and 2yo are pumped!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

To each their own is right! :thumbsup2 Im not fond of Le Cellier either, or Ohana for that matter. We've been to TRex a million times and LOVE IT! My son adores that place. We both always had great meals. Never a bad one. Everyone's taste is different.

We eat here a few times a yr it is a tradition to drive down the day before we check into out WDW resort and eat here, it is one of my husbands favorites.

He gets the chicken fried steak, its huge and he will compare it to every chicken fried steak he ever eats.

I always get the footprints flat bread off the appy menu(so big I can share with another person as a meal) and DD gets the hot wings of the appy menu

Now I will say we did have 1 bad experience where DH chicken fried steak wasnt cooked enough but the management made it rights and even offered for us to come back "on them" which we are next month!

Every restaurant has its off days, not every dish agrees with everyones stomach and every ones tastes are different. The only time I really say Oh Oh maybe I better not go to this restaurant is when it consistantly get bad reviews.

The volcano dessert is absolutely huge and can feed a family of 4 or 5 that is why it requires 4 credits, this was discussed on the boards when Trex was first put on the DDP.

I do think wait staff should be required to tell ppl up front or have it noted on the menu as to avoid the confusion..

OP Im sorry you didnt like it, I hope it was just fluke stomach thing but.. you never know..lol

If you have eaten at Rainforest cafe, you have eaten here... same menu different names.

The atmosphere is awesome...and for any dino loving kid it is SUPER AWESOME

Remember you are there for atmosphere, not the food

The only problem with the T-Rex is the noise. It is not the place to go if you want to have conversation during dinner. It's probably a good idea to pack some aspirin or such with you when you go :)

we have eaten there twice this year, and enjoyed the food, specialty adult beverages & the atmosphere both times (all adults).

I will say the service was very slow both times...75 - 90 minutes without appetizer course is too long IMO. The servers did not go MIA or anything...just seems to be the kitchen that is slow (plenty of refills on soda & ice water while we waited.) And we did get plenty big appetites waiting for the food, lol. The serving portions are huge. We were not in a hurry either time so that slow service was acceptable for us. Don't think we would have enjoyed it much if we had little ones who were getting antsy, as some tables around us had. Though we were totally entertained by 2 little girls at the next table who decided the best way to beat their fright at the show was to roar back at the dinosaurs...they were hilarious.

This is the thing i find most amusing...ppl complaining about the noise at TRex. Its like going to an indian restaurant and complaining there's nothing but indian food there. What do ppl honestly expect? Even when youre checking in at the podium, you have a feel for how loud it is. There's your chance to back out, unless Trex charges for no-shows, then you dont have a choice but to stay (unless you wanna swallow the $10pp). But anyway, i just find it amusing. :upsidedow

These posts are encouraging. I'm not a fan of cheese, especially ricotta, so no lasagna for me! I hope we enjoy even if just for the atmosphere! I think the kids will love it! Does anyone know if the build a Dino takes gift cards? We have landrys select club plus the gift card!
