T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

Holy cow. We leave tomorrow! Time to think about packing my stuff, I think. Girls have pretty well chosen their stuff and piled it up for packing into the bags. DW and I haven't even started - and she has a PFA event tonight after work. DD13 has dance and swim practice, so DD7 and I are on our own to get dinner and obsess over what we can do without the others to get ready. Fingers crossed that not another big pile of homework comes home tonight. I think what DD13 has at this moment is pretty manageable for her but if the other two subjects pile on, it might get a bit stressful and we definitely DON'T want that on this trip.

Maybe I'll move things forward by packing my bag this afternoon. Couldn't hurt.

Temp is dropping into the 20s here tonight so we are getting out in the nick of time!:banana::banana:

In about 48 hours the Cast Members will be saying " Welcome Back to the Long Family " It never gets old hearing our name announced as we get on the ship.

Looking forward to meeting all the new DISboard friends at the Meet.

ran out to target last night for an over the door shoe organizer... it was either that or steal DD's that is currently stuffed full of webkins....

the suitcases are about 90 percent packed. final sorting tonight. DD was up till 10pm last night helping before we realized it was 90 minutes past her bedtime....

work today was tough! 2 trainings in the AM and a big PBA meeting this afternoon. (and then tonight I have to pick up all the nut orders for my DD's Brownie troop. (which will sit unopenend in my living room till we return!)

the cat KNOWS we are up to something as she has been directly underfoot whining non stop for days.....

Just trying to clean up loose ends here today, and then maybe start packing tonight...we will make it to the port tomorrow, but it might be pretty late.

Just boarded the autotrain. We are as packed as we will be. Will probably shift some clothes around tomorow, though. Can't contain the excitement. Have even already started planning our next trip. See everyone Saturday!:cloud9:

SAFE TRAVELS TO ALL.... We won't get to the MCO Hyatt until after Midnight on Friday... Hope to get to port mid morning to check on PALO....

DCL kicks off Holidays on 11-19 Sailings
Disney Cruise Line kicks off its holiday season Nov. 19 with the first of three Thanksgiving voyages. All three ships will offer traditional Turkey Day activities with feasts and football games broadcast live on the outdoor jumbo screens by the pools. Mickey, Minnie and friends will also appear in their Thanksgiving attire.

The Disney Magic sets sail Saturday on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise. On Sunday, the Disney Wonder heads out on a seven-night Mexican Riviera cruise. And on Wednesday, the Disney Dream goes on a four-night Bahamian cruise.

During these cruises, the winter holiday celebrations begin as well. Guests can experience:

** Nightly “King Triton’s Tree Lighting” in the atrium lobby, where a child is chosen each day to help Disney characters light the three-deck-tall tree.

** Holiday storytellers sharing tales of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Plus, there’s a story tailored to Disney Cruise Line guests about celebrating aboard a ship.

** Family holiday crafts, such as decorating stockings, building gingerbread houses, making holiday cards and creating holiday animation cells.

** “Til We Meet Again” on the Magic and Wonder and “See Ya Real Soon” on the Dream feature a special holiday edition of the farewell party with beloved Disney characters and the ship’s crew.

** Traditional holiday feasts in the themed dining rooms.

On Castaway Cay, Disney Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas, passengers will find “snow flurries,” Christmas trees, character meet-and-greets, carolers and holiday-themed activities and crafts for children.

And don't forget on CC, that the trams will likely be decorated as _______ (deliberately left blank)

:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes This has me even more excited!

I'm desperately trying to wrap up work now then it's time to pack and make arrangements with the pet sitter.

We hit the road tomorrow!

Planning to hit up Chuck's dinner suggestion tomorrow night.

Thanks for sending this!!! For the past five years we have gone on the cruise the week AFTER Thanksgiving so we are familiar with all of these activities but it doesn't make it any less exciting. Can't wait to cross that gangway and hear our names!!!!!

I can't wait to smell (and see) the amazing gingerbread house they put together. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season. Though I think next year we may plan a New Year's trip on the Fantasy rather than another Turkey day trip.

:banana::banana: I'm feeling like a four year old. I'm getting really excited. Our last three cruises on the Magic were all in early November, and the decorations were just starting to go up. I can wait to see everything all decked out!

And I just got our boarding passes. 24 hours to go. I hope the kids finish up their homework soon so we can start packing.

See everyone soon!

Lauri

I see we are not alone in the not having started to pack group...we will take of it tomorrow, but we also have only a 3 hour drive to the port after someone gets out of school tomorrow.

And I see someone was in the Banana group if I correctly recall the week after Thanksgiving group's moniker...we had some people that started Turkey week who switched to the following week that we used to speak to on these boards.

Anyway, Larry and I will be easy to spot in the terminal, on board or just about anywhere (ok, maybe not in a foxhole) as we will tower over most everyone...

That was us - we were original bananaheads. And I am assuming you are talking about tonya and trey.

This year we are Turkeys and next year moving up to first week of november on the fantasy. Variety, as they say....

See you all on Saturday. Safe travels to everyone.

jeff

Yes..it was Tonya and Trey...could not remember their names, but they were Turkeys back about 2005 I believe.

ok i just got goosebumps reading this!! I am so excited I am going to explode. My DD was jumping all over the place when I dropped her off at school this morning. she is thrilled mommy will pick her up in "car line" instead of having to go to after school care so we can head to the airport. a few hours this am at the office and we are off!

Sigh, I am still in the office....

Chuck:cool1:

Sneak out!

We are all packed and ready to drive up to Orlando. We decided to stay at Port Orleans FQ tonight. There's nothing like starting a trip off with beignets for breakfast.

Traveled back to office to wrap things up, and give out staff assignments for next week.

Larry has made it back home and I believe is lining out the College/Pro Football games for next week..

Hoping for an on-time arrival in Orlando later tonight.
