Wendy the weather looks great for an ontime arrival. We can step outside and wave at your plane as it lands if you like.

Happy traveling all. In one hour I pick up Jessica and we are off to get our nails done.

Hope its clear there...it has been pouring here again...which is not good b/c the ship passes by here....and the St Maarten weather is very iffy next 5 days...

Leaving soon to go home and pack up the car.

We were waving at you from the plane. On time arrival and we are safe and sound at the Hyatt...

See you soon

Wendy thanks for waving and glad you made it on time.

See everyone in a few short hours

Never mind i was able to down load it! Smart phone duh!! Lol
! Happy cruising everybody!

We are also home and very sad. There was no towel animal and my bed was not made when I got in my room. Instead, we had overflowing cat boxes (note - get new cat watchers next trip) and had to make food for ourselves.

But we did rebook two more trips while on board, one for the Disney Wonder to Alaska next June and two for the Fantasy for New Year's.

Sorry we didn't get to meet up with everyone but it was great to chat with those I was able to run into!

We decided to drive.home. We got as far as Charlotte and called it a day - will drive.the.remainder tomorrow. The kids had a fantastic time and loved participating in their first FE.

We'll be staying at the.SSR treehouses next year but did book the 2013 Fantasy Thanksgiving cruise. Hope to see some of you there.

We made it as far as St. Augustine and then spent the night in Jacksonville Beach. We are heading back to Atlanta in a few hours and after the kids find some more sharks teeth.

It was a great cruise, we had a fabulous time. We booked another cruise on the Fantasy this Summer. We flipped a coin between that and Alaska since we couldn't decide. Mexico on the Fantasy won! :yay:

We made it home at about 7 yesterday. Traffic was horrible BUT we did get to see the launch or the Mars rover which was pretty cool.
We had a wonderful trip and made some great memories. I'm going through my pictures now to post on the blog :) I took like 600 LOL.

We are sailing on the July 21, 2012 Fantasy.... Enjoy !

We are presently set for August 2012, but we somehow usually end up with the Longs and some other folks, so once school schedule comes out in December and we finalize camp plans, who knows which ship we wind up on.

we had a great week! and the FE thing was so much fun for my DD (and us!) she was thrilled to check out all the goodies when we returned to our stateroom. the christmas ornaments will make their way onto our tree when it goes up today. the coloring books got a workout at dinner each night while DD waiting between courses and for the adults to finish up.

We did have a great week but I think both DH and I have concluded that we just are not "cruisers" for a variety of reasons. 1) the size of the staterooms is really somewhat clausterphobic for me (esp after staying in DVC villas in the parks). even thought we werent in the room much when we were there it seemed we were always in each others way... 2) Both Jeff and Kendall got seasick the first 2 full days at sea. not fun. 3) i just felt a tad bit overscheduled with the set seating time for dinner if we wanted a sit down meal (I dont do buffets...) and the show time etc. there was one night I wold have skipped the formal sit down dinner but it was our night in animators palate for the whole color changing thing (we were there earlier in the week for formal night when it didnt change) and I wanted DD to be able to see that.

We may check out the Disney Dream or fantsay at some point in the future but for now we are back to the parks!

A couple of random thoughts--we loved the catamaran snorkling adventure in st. maarten. the dolphin encounter on tortola was fun to see DD's reaction but we were herded like cattle and there were so many of us in the water that it was a little disappointing for us adults who knew what it cost... Castaway Cay was my favorite part of the week--wish we could have stayed there longer. the shows were fantastic. we missed most of the post show entertainment as DD most nights barely made it through the show so we were back in the stateroom and asleep by 10:30 most nights. We even missed the fireworks because she called it a night at 9:45 at the pirate party. I probably had the only kid on the ship who didnt like the kids club. she spent exactly 1 hour there all week. she might have warmed up if she had a friend with her. but by herself she was a bit intimidated by the entire experience. the food was great but the desserts were spectacular! the football on the big screen with the grilled corn and hot wings on Thursday was a fun touch.
I thought the fitness center was nice. I managed to get in on one spinning class and did an outside run along the deck one day and an inside treadmill run and a morning stretch as well as the castaway cay 5k. i am happy to report I gained no weight all week even with ordering 2 desserts most nights! :)

I would have liked early morning yoga out on a deck some days. but it was all good.

Disney did an excellent job pairing us up with 2 other families for our dinner seating. 2 single moms with 3 young boys my DD's age. they were best buds by the end of the week. very cute.

thats all. now to sort thought my 600 digital pictures....

one last question--I am guessing that once you leave the ship there is no way to purchase any more of the photos from shutters? there is one image I am regretting not getting . it is too bad they dont give you 30 days like they do in WDW with photopass.

happy sailing!

Renee

Rats! Hoping you would choose Alaska with us in June. I missed you Sat. night. I stayed in Quiet Cove until people were laughing at me trying to stay awake....:lmao:

Hi! We're back and my body and head are still rocking . It was fun bending down doing all of our laundry yesterday. I also was rather queasy the first two days. Unfortunately, we had Palo brunch on Monday, and I was so sick on deck 10 aft that we had to leave. A very expensive brunch to have not eaten.

When we left the ship, we went to pick up our rental car. As we were leaving Dollar, I noticed that everyone had stopped and was video taping. We looked to our left and saw the rocket taking off for Mars. Between that and the horn-off at Castaway Cay, it was a very cool cruise!

Now I'm appealing to those of you who did the Kayak, Hike and Snorkel in St. Thomas. Did anyone happen to buy the picture DVD that they were selling? I had a disposable waterproof camera, which had 3 pictures left on it. I gave the camera to my DH to take pictures while snorkeling at Castaway Cay. He lost the camera in the lagoon :sad1:. We reported it to Disney, who will contact us if they find it, and the company that we kayaked with is supposed to contact me about buying the pictures. I'm just wondering if anyone purchased it to know if it's worth going through all the trouble. I don't particularly remember them taking a lot of pictures of us, but if I can get a few for the memories, it will be worth it.

I booked a dummy date cruise for us, waiting to see what the Magic and Wonder will be doing in 2013. Meanwhile, DH and I will be traveling without kids to Canada on the Magic next September.
