T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

Thanks, Melody! How old are your DD's, and do they like the Oceaneer Club/Lab? I'm really hoping it isn't overly crowded. Both of my DS's get sensory overload if it's too wild.

When my kids were younger, they loved it. The very first cruise they were a little shy, but there were lots of times when the CM's were playing video games with two of them, and there was only one or two other kids even in there.

Just a note....If the cruise is full, and it looks like it is, make sure you sign up for the kids clubs right away. They can fill up. If it gets full, and you're signed up, it's nice to have that option to put them in if you want to, but they don't necessarily have to stay either.

In the "old" days, you had to sign up once you were on ship. I believe now, you sign up just to the right side of boarding the ship. These other cruisers with younger kids could tell you for sure.:cloud9:

Here is a link to FAQ, a ton of great info.

Forgot to say, this is not only our first Disney cruise, it's our first cruise- period!! So I'm not exaggerating when I say I have no idea what I'm doing!! I am usually a super-planner, but this time, I'm trying not to over-think things. We aren't going to try to do everything; we just want a nice, relaxing week with (hopefully) a few breaks from our kids!! And, of course, a leisurely Thanksgiving with no cooking, cleaning, or dishes to do! I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

Welcome aboard. Many repeat cruisers on this thread .. Ask away with any questions.

Actually you can do the pre-registratio online now and then either wait in line at the terminal to get the wristband and pager or we just go to the club if the line in the terminal is too long and they will do it right there.

Also remember that there is no longer the age groups. It is by programs and they pick the program they want. The CM's will transfer them if they start in the club and want to go to the lab.

Hi, my DD's are 14, 12, and 9 at cruise time. The oldest definitely gets sensory overload, the middle one likes the edge a lot, and the youngest does not like the clubs, she wants to be with her older sister (she hangs with her a lot at home, and her friends too). She thinks she is too old for the oceaneer club (it is 3-10 year olds). I think the clubs are great of course, I like having adult time!!:cool1: It all depends on the kid. MeanQueen's 5 year old loves the clubs and can totally entertain herself when she is in there. Hopefully your kids will love it enough to let you and your hubby relax a bit. It is top notch all the way!!

I have a problem we haven't encountered before on the cruise. We changed our room after we got our luggage tags. Should we write in our correct room or just assume that DCL will get it to the right place?

Yes if you are using magical express. Vif you are coming to the port with your luggage they can give you ones at the port. we had to do that two times

We are driving up that morning and generally drop our bags off at the curb. Where would we get the new luggage tags and would we still drop off at the curb?

The people who take your luggage at the curb have them. They were blank and they wrote the number on them

Through the Magic of disney, you will get your bags even with the incorrect room tags on them. When we've upgraded at the Port, our bags made it to our new room without any problems. You can always cross out the old number and put your new one in it's place.

Too Funny... I was at the local Christmas Tree Shoppe yesterday and they were actually selling cans of snow... Can you believe it... I almost got them for additional Fish Extender gifts for our fellow southern cruisers but don't have any more room in the luggage.

As the cruise draws closer, the excitement is overwhelming me and all I can think about is the cruise. Seems everything can be manipulated in my mind to be about the cruise. :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Next Saturday is the big day!

Since my computer crashed, I am on a mad hunt for more magnets! Wish me luck!! Thanks!!!!

We are in totally excited also. We will be at the port this time next week.

Looking forward to making new friends and seeing new ones.

The long awaited trip to Target for more stuff I probably do not need.

We will be staying the night before at the Hyatt as well, then catching the DCL bus in the morning. I love the convenience of it all!pirate:

Good Morning Cruisers...

Is anyone else staying at the Hyatt MCO the night before the cruise?

We are arriving on Friday evening and will take the DCL Transfers to the port.

We stumbled upon a Rapunzel dress yesterday. My daughter now has a dress for every princess and a few extras.

she is super excited and is planning out her costume changes....we are gonna need to extend this to a 10 night cruise :rotfl:

You would think by 7 she would grow out of her love of dressing like a princess....guess not and that is ok with me.:lovestruc

Im so excited about our upcoming cruise.

though earlier i mentioned i wanted to do the FE for some reason i have not been receiving emails for updates to the thread. so I need to know if I am on it please.

To be honest I am not sure i would be able to pull it together by Friday when we arrive. Its been crazy here and I know the week will be just as crazy. My husband was just in the hospital for over a week a few weeks back and it has totally thrown me off. Still trying to get packing done,

So if we are in it please let me know asap and i will try to figure it out

Thanks

Thanks so much!

I am glad to get the info for youBoxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney

Our boxes have always been waiting on us

Hope this helps

Wendy

Just a reminder, with all of us leaving in the next 4 - 5 days, please print out a new FE list. There was a change recently, and it has been updated.

Again if there are any changes at the port, I will be letting you know via email or text whichever way you told me you wanted. I will have extra copies with me, and my cabin number will not change (we won't be upgrading), so you can always find me for another one.

I may not be on the boards much the rest of the week, so we'll see everyone on board!

Back from a quick trip in for the last weekend of food and wine festival....that was delicious and even better since Mason was with his cousin...he hates food and wine b/c all people do is eat and drink...and it is crowded...

Weather was cold though at night, at least by Florida standards, so check it out later this week...warmed up during the days into the 70s...but nights were in upper 40s...of course none of that matters after the first evening b/c the ship will cruise in the tropics.

As to luggage issues with room switches...they will have replacement bags curb side, but even if you upgrade at the port, your bags will make it to you...we have done this several times...though I have occasionally went to the cabin stewards and advised them of the switch...but never have had a problem or a delay..
