T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

This is our 3rd Thanksgiving cruise - a new family tradition. Have been counting down since day 721.

DH thought I was crazy to wait up and make my reservations at midnight, but glad to know I'm not the only one.

Totally new to DIS and FE, and would love to join in the fun if you'll have us.

Welcome aboard! The FE is a lot of fun for the kids and adults.

I hope I'm not the only parent who is looking forward to the opportunity to get away from their kids for a bit on the cruise. DD12 wants to get on her own the minute we get on the ship and DD5 looks through the navigator to plan out when we need to take her to the club. So they seem to equally want to be away from us. We still get a lot of family time, but for DH and I it's the rare chance to get a lot of couple time too.

Know how you feel. Love time with the family, but do still need some adult time to recharge and reconnect. DH and I booked dinner at Palo's for Monday night. We tried on our last cruise, and almost made it through the entrees when the pager went off. The food was great and they packed up our desserts to go with us.

DS11 is wanting to run free as soon as he boards. My little ones just turned 8, and are just as excited.

Just checking back in. We booked Palo for brunch and dinner without problems. Availability seemed to be very good. We also booked a kayaking excursion for St. Thomas, as there are going to be 8 ships in port that day .

I'm surprised how many staterooms are still available for our cruise, especially considering it is a holiday sailing. Is anyone sailing we extended family? We're going solo, but I'd imagine there are many large family groups on this cruise.

We are travelling with a group of friends that are our extended family. I'm leaving the legal relatives at home. I'm also surprised it's not booked. I really thought it was already full. I hope this means upgrades!

I'm glad you stayed up....rofl........I set my alarm for 11:50 (MST), I logged in, the website was busy and I fell asleep. I woke up at 1:40, tried to log in and it was busy the 3 times I tried it.....I fell asleep. I thought when I woke up at 6:40 am that there wasn't a prayer that I was going to get anything. There was tons of Palo reservations, and the only thing I could see gone was the family cabanas on CC.

School starts for the kids in 2 days....I can't wait!!!!!

Here is a magnet DISign for Mel. I just put my last name on it, but I can customize it for our last names, or just do a blank. Let me know which everyone wants.

Also, I've just found a few MM Thanksgiving graphics. I'll do another with some characters in it. Here's the first.....





BTW.....this seems like it may be a cruise that is not very full. Does anyone think so???

I think I had better get started on FE gifts before too long or I will be scrambling at the end.
Tomorrow is my birthday and we are going to Texas de Brazil for dinner. I am so looking forward to a meat fest with my family and friends, it should be a fun time, I have never been there before!

My DH and DS11 are going on the kayak and hike on St. Thomas. It looks great.

Oh good, so now we know they'll run it with at least 6 of us. It will be me, DH, DS 17, and DD 14. DS and I will now be doing the snorkling part.

We will probably go to a beach on St. Maarten, but haven't decided which one yet.

The cabins available will probably still increase in the next few days, as we get to the 75 day mark, the last day to get a full refund. I keep checking as we have two cabins, and would love to switch to connecting ones.

While my DH and DS11 are doing the trip with you, I'll be taking my DS8 and DD8 to the Coral World and doing the submarine tour. St. Maarten we are all going snorkeling in the afternoon.

Wishing you luck in getting your cabins together. It really helps. Just wish they can code the keys so that I only needed one to open both doors.

Sorry, we just got our power back from Irene. I don't think we're going to participate in the FE for this cruise. But I may be interested in your cool graphic for the cruise. Okay, no problem. I get it about the FE stuff. It's a lot of fun, but a pain to get it together and on the ship sometimes. We didn't do it last time, and our whole family really missed it. Even as adults, it's fun to see what the surprise is when we get back to the cabin. This is the first time I'll be really excited....our group is so small, I'll be able to do more.

Thanks for the design. For our family, it's band season up until we cruise. It takes over our lives. Plus DS is applying to colleges this fall. Not alot of time to get FE goodies together. We travel at Thanksgiving so the kids get a break from the season. They both usually have lots of homework to do on the cruise too, but better to be doing it at sea than in the cold at home.

My goodness... gone for a couple of days and had a lot of catching up to do... This Hurricane really hit us hard. We just got our power back on and have had a bit to clean-up. Our basement got flooded a bit and we have had to get that dried up and cleaned up. We built this house not but 10 years ago and have never had that happen before. Not as bad as alot of people, but none the less not fun. Hope everyone faired well through the storm.

My daughter saw that she can come and go on her own on the cruise and is so excited. I am, on the other hand, apprehensive. She will be just 11. Diana, I see your DS will be 11 too. What are your thoughts? Any suggestions anyone?

How do you guys know how booked our cruise is? Am I missing something? Also, when do you think we will get our room assignments for our GTY rooms. Any idea?
