How do you know which rooms at these resorts feature balconies? or a view of boardwalk, parks, etc? I can't find that info anywhere....

Do you mean specifically which room numbers have what views? Or just in general, what can you book?

S/D have booking categories (like WDW resorts - standard, water view, etc)...the view description for S/D will tell you exactly what you get - it starts at Standard, goes to Limited View, Resort View, Resort View with balcony, Epcot Fireworks View, and Epcot Fireworks View with balcony. There may be a few random categories as well, but those are the most common ones. Only rooms that state "with balcony" have them, the rest do not (with the exception of suites, most of those have balconies).

I've been in all categories at S/D if you have specific questions feel free to ask.

well, do any of the rooms have awful views? anything to avoid? I love balconies but not sure of pricing tier for those....views of the boardwalk would rock, but is that different from park views?

Yep...some of the standard rooms overlook the dumpster & convention center loading dock. I've had those views twice when booking standard! They also overlook the entrances, and parking lots.

Limited view takes one of the above & adds some partial garden or pool views.

Resort view will get you views of Swan, Dolphin, the back side of The Boardwalk or Tower or Terror at DHS, either grounds views or views of the pool. There isn't a separate catgeory for garden vs. pool.

Epcot Fireworks View are in the East wings & face Beach Club, Spaceship Earth, and The Boardwalk to the right.

There aren't any super Boardwalk Views just because of the way the resorts sit - the rooms with Boardwalk views would be looking at the back side, or far out onto The Boardwalk over where ESPN Club is. There's a large waterway separating The Boardwalk from both Swan & Dolphin.

If I get a chance later I will post the different views I've had, and what category they are, if that will help you at all.

Good luck deciding!
