Switching rooms mid-stay (same resort) and fridge

We just bought our spring break tickets and flights were about $1000 cheaper if we slid our dates out by one day. We now have 5 nights in a standard view at BLT, and (due to the date change) 1 night in a lake view. We're waitlisted for the last night in a standard view, but I'm thinking we probably won't get it.

So, my question is - how does it work if you have to change rooms mid-stay? Can we just take our luggage down to bell services in the morning, and pick it up later that afternoon when we check in again? Do we have to deal with tipping several times, or can we handle it ourselves? We'll have a rental car, so I guess we could just put everything in there. But we'll probably still have some cold items from the fridge. Will bell services hold these items? What if something (like milk) is already opened?

Thanks!

Bell Services will hold your items, even anything that requires refrigeration. I would plan on drinking any opened liquids. We carry a black felt marker to mark our saved grocery bags with our name and "keep cold".

We have taken our stuff and picked up our stuff from Bell Services. Reports lately are that Bell Services is putting pressure on guests for room delivery to increase their tips.

We usually just call them for pick up and delivery and factor in tips as the cost of vacation.

We do not however tip housekeeping so there is a little savings.

When do you call to arrange the pickup -- that morning, or the night before?

How long does it take Bell Services to arrive at your room to pick up your luggage? I'm concerned about Bell Services coming slowly, and delaying our arrival at the parks and missing rope drop.

Thanks!

You call when you are ready to leave in the morning. I've had good luck with Bell services coming up quickly in most cases- like within ten minutes.

However at BWV last week, we waited forty minutes (and two follow-up phone calls) before we pulled everything down to the bell desk ourselves and dropped the bags at the station, for exactly the reason you are describing. Fortunately the park we were rope dropping was Epcot, so the resort location made up for the ridiculous wait.

To be fair to the Bell folks, I'm sure a whole lot of people call them for bags at nearly the same time, all trying to make rope drop. And they can't be quick to every room if they have a hundred calls for service in five minutes. But when they tell you three different times that someone is "on their way up immediately," and it's already 35 minutes after your first call, you realize that it's time to start walking your own bags down.

So, hope for the best and prepare for the worst if you're trying to get pickup before rope drop. I don't think calling the night before would help since I believe they would still tell you to call down when you are ready for pickup, but you could try.

At later times in the morning, I suspect service would be more efficient. At least I hope so.

Thank you for the info -- that is exactly what I am concerned about. I think I'm just going to move my luggage myself. That way I'll be in control of my schedule.

Thank you for the help!!

We are also doing a split stay in Dec, 2 nights AKV Jambo and 2 nights VGF . In the interest of having our clothing and getting settled in a room hopefully before 4pm we will probably take a cab over early to VGF and store our luggage with bell services. Hoping for as text around 2pm come from parks. Don't think that we willb use bell services...dont want to take the chance of waiting till possibly after 5 for luggage.
