switching resorts mid vacation

I'm currently booked at the AKL for 4 nights and want to add 3 nights onto the beginning of my vacation. I don't really want to pay the AKL rate and am considering booking a moderate resort. If I do this and switch resorts in mid vacation, how does check out and check in work? How does my luggage get transfered from resort to resort? I don't want to waste a whole day moving from one resort to another!

Disney will move your luggage for you to the next resort that you are staying at as a courtesy. You can call bell services and just tell them that you are switching resorts and would like your bags transferred. Unfortunately, you will have to check out at the old resort and then check in at the new resort. Ultimately, not really a long arduous process. Have a great trip to the World!
