I usually rent national EA- I love to just walk to the car and go, but I have been looking for a good rate for July 23 to 31 for over a month now and with the Priceless code and a $20 coupon my best rate is 206(total). Dollar, my next choice, is even higher.

Thrifty is at $145. I also signed up for their Blue Chip which I hope will help shorten the wait.

Can someone tell me good things about Thrifty- is the bus ride long and are the lines short? $60 is alot to save, but I don't want to lose an hour just getting the car!

We used Thrifty 12/04 and it was great. The Thrifty shuttle buses run continuously from MC0 and are a quick trip. The shuttle buses are nice and clean. We are also Blue Chip members and could bypass the regular line and went to a counter at one end of Thrifty and were the only ones there. They did NOT pressure me to get the extra insurance etc. and we were on our way quickly. Hopefully others will give their opinion, but to save the $60 I wouldn't hesitate to book with Thrifty. We had booked an economy and were upgraded to a nice mini van for the first week (without ASKING at all). We were using a code (has since expired) that gave us the rental for 79 US/wk plus taxes and fees. So for a mini van for a week we were thrilled.

We had to come back after the first week and switch rentals since the code we used was not good for a two week rental and when we came back we tried to keep the mini van. NO GO. The manager was serving us at the Blue Chip counter and seemed upset that we had such a great price for the mini van. So for the second week we were given I'm sure their oldest, MOST dented/scratched up car on the lot. We just laughed it off and thought it was all part of the adventure!!!

Happy travels

save and extra 10% with the magic card rate - its on mousesavers.com or allearsnet.com - and keep checking your rate. check different size cars too - the little kia was 210 a week and a fullsize was 98.

I am renting again from them in a few weeks.

I've rented from Thrify alot at MCO. Buses always came quickly and drivers helpful with my luggage. Having the Blue chip card puts you in a no line area and off you go!!
Have fun!

I changed from Dollar to Thrifty. $80 savings...couldn't pass that up.

We also are renting from Thirfty and I am glad to hear that you all have posted some thoughts on them..We got a very very good price for our midsize rental for a 10 day stay and we are picking it up in Orlando and dropping it off in Tampa as we will be flying home from Tampa as we are including a week at the beach after Disney..We did our rental through AAA as our air.. Very pleased with both prices except the trip home is a very very early flight.. It will be back to realty that day..Have a great day.... :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped:

Why not hold onto the National ressie and see if it goes down before you leave. If there is no change in price, then cancel it.

We have rented from Thrifty several times and found it to be a pleasant, hassle-free experience. Last summer we had a fullsize reserved but they ran out of Dodge Intrepids. They upgraded us to a mini-van at no extra charge. My DH actually got to Thrifty and picked up the car before I was able to get our luggage.
This past Christmas we rented a mini-van with a special code. We paid $275 for 11 days with the code and using two free one day rental coupons. I know that some other posters have had problems but we have not. I just wish that I could use them again this summer but so far their rates are higher than National's with the Priceless code and Ent. Book coupon. I check everyday and today their rates finally went down but still not enough to bet National.

Last june we used Thrifty and the bus was there waiting, but the Blue Chip line was slightly long (nothing compared to the other line though) and they didn't have my reservation papers done up ahead of time like they are supposed to. So it was not a fast process. Then I got a dinky car (yes, I did go cheap, but I thought it would have at least power windows!) and proceeded to get lost getting to WDW. I drove back into the airport, somehow missing the 417 exit. How embarrassing! It was also embarrassing pulling up to the Dolphin in my little rental special. It worked out OK, but I much prefer Budget which is on MCO site and they let you pick your car
