I would like a new swimsuit for our upcoming cruise and thought it might be fun to wait and buy one onboard. Anyone seen the suits for sale on board or better yet...bought one? Where would I purchase one on the Wonder?? What are the prices like? Does anyone know brands they sell?

thanks for the info!! :beach:

You should definitely have a back up swimsuit packed. Unless it has changed alot since last summer, the selection is very limited and IMHO overpriced. I don't remember the brands and I think there are more kid sizes that adults. The ports is a different story, there are many opprtunities to buy swimsuits in port. HTH. Donna

Selection was very limited. If you are arriving early, you may want to check out Ron-Jon's surf shop. They had many different styles to choose from.

Definately stop at Ron-Jon's surf shop!! I believe it is open 24/7 ... and definately worth the stop. Expect to spend a couple of hours there ... my DW and DD9 are 'professional' shoppers, and I do not normally enjoy shopping with them, but was able to 'hang in there' at Ron Jon's ... lots to look at.

Just got off the ship a couple of weeks ago. There are about 6 different ladies' swimsuits to choose from, and I think they were all Tommy Bahama. Very expensive.

That's the one thing I did like better about our Norwegian and Princess cruises, they have a lot more shops, more variety, and you can actually buy clothes if you need to.

Ditto

Pretty much everything is overpriced in the onboard gift shops. But then again there are somethings you can only purchase there (or eBay).

If you are looking for Disney themed swimwear and don't mind getting it ahead of time www.disneyshopping.com has all their swimwear on sale for great prices. (their sizes do seem to run big in the swimwear). Or if you just want a great classy suit to have ahead of time, I love the stuff that www.landsend.com makes!

I also vote for Ron John's! If a person can't find it in there...its not made...well not quite. BUT you should see everything in there! Amazing.

Wow! :scared: Am I the ONLY one that has to spend about 400 hours to find a bathing suit that doesn't make me look like a beached whale in lycra?? I can't imagine being able to wait till I boarded to find a suit!!! :faint:

VERY limited supply. And even for kids- no Disney swimsuits- what is that about?

Just got off the ship today! Very limited selection, def. recommend buying beforre hand. Glad I did, they had nothing worth the money.

BYOB! (Bring Your Own Bathing-suit.)

The selection for women's bathing suits is very limited. You might be disappointed.

kecall-I'm with you!! I carry my swimsuit with me not because I want to swim right away, but because the thought of having it lost is absolutely horrifying!!! Shopping for a bathing suit is the absolute last thing I want to do on vacation! Save that miserable past time when I'm not trying to have fun! ;)

I'm the OP and I am bringing my own bathing suits..plural...would never travel without especially since we will be in Orlando prior to cruising.... BUT I want a new one too!!!!!!!!! Just wondered if I could find anything onboard but it doesn't sound like the have anything worth waiting for. We always stop by Ron Jon's so I'll check there too!! Thanks for the tip!! Never fear though I will be prepared with my other suits!

Anyone else find themselves spending a lot of $ prior to the cruise....to "get ready" for the cruise??? I must stop this!!

Ahhh! I feel much better now, Barbmouse, knowing that you will have a bathingsuit before you leave!!!! :dance3:

As for spending money....it IS a real problem, isn't it?? I have to remember to tack on quite a bit to our vacation budget because, after all, there are sooo many things I have to get before I go......For example, I can't be expected to wear the same sunglasses, can I????? :cool1:

barbmouse, it's kind of like saying the price of the cruise is only________. At first you don't count all the extras, pictures, airfare, hotel if you go up early, excursions, drinks, CLOTHES CLOTHES CLOTHES!!!

Pretty soon what started out as a reasonalbe cost doubles by the time the cruise gets here. With our cruise a few days out, I keep finding myself picking up this or that, oh I NEED this (yeah right ;) ).

I have 3 suits I'm taking! A girl has got to be prepared AND have choices!
