Swimming pools at other resorts?

When we camp at FW, do we have access to any of the swimming pools at any of the other Disney resorts?

It's referred to as "pool hopping" and has always been against Disney rules, but never enforced. The new fencing system at the pools is supposed to help with this, but also to help with local freeloaders who were coming to the resorts for "dinner" or to "visit" a guest but we're actually just there to take advantage of the pools.

That makes sense. If it were allowed, I was thinking it might be fun to check out some of the other resorts and swim in one of the really nice pools. I was reading on the DisAbilities forum and saw a post describing all of the pools that have the zero edge entrance that people can walk in (or roll in with a wheelchair) and the photos of the other pools looked awesome. We have a big pool on the Air Force Base where I work, but it only has ladders for people to climb in and out. There aren't even any regular pool stairs, and the vertical ladders are too hard on my knees. I'm sure the Fort Wilderness pools would have stairs, though, right? I can't imagine that they wouldn't have stairs.

The pools at the Fort do have the ladders, at one end of the pool, closest to the snack bar there are I believe 2 or 3 steps with a hand rail to get down into the pool. There are also the disability lifts at the pool and hot tub also for assistance.

DVC members do have access to some of the other pools. IIRC.

That's cool. We're not DVC members, but that sounds like a nice benefit for the people who are members. We only have one full "resort day" and maybe almost another day, depending on how early we can make it to Orlando and get checked in to the Fort on our arrival day. And we might have some time to swim on the day we visit Animal Kingdom, depending on how long we stay in the park that day.

The main pool at the Meadows Trading Post area has stairs coming out of the shallow end to the pool deck so you should be fine, DKSABS.
