Hello all.

Can you swim in the pools in December?

I thought the pools were heated, but how is it?

We are staying at BCV

Cheers for ears.

Since WDW has snuck the heater temperatures down we have found BCV to be the coldest of all of the DVC pools. Water is like in the upper 70's there.

If you hit a warm spell you could be OK but not like it used to be when we'd swim even when the air was in the 60's. :sad2:

Good luck and I'll think warm for you. Update us when you return.

We just got back last night from a stay at BWV. There were people in the pool every day, even on the days when the air temperature didn't make it out of the 60s! We went swimming twice during our stay, on the days where the air temperature warmed up to the low to mid 70s (Mon and Tues of this week). The pool was not quite as warm as previous winter trips. I will guess that the water temp was around 82 degrees on Monday and a bit cooler on Tuesday. It was fine once we got in and started paddling around. I would have preferred the water to be a few degrees warmer, but it was warm enough that I had little hesitation about getting into the pool. I went down the slide a couple of times. After standing at the top of the slide, soaking wet in the cool breeze waiting my turn to go down, the water felt positively balmy when I splashed down into the pool.

We also used the hot tub. It was wonderful -- nice and toasty! We had to ease in because it was quite hot but wonderful once we got adjusted.

We also checked out the water temp at both the main pool and DVC pool at VWL when we stopped by to see the Christmas decorations. The water there felt nice and warm! It was a chilly day however so the ducks had the pool all to themselves that day.

Every time we have gone in December, we have been able to swim for at least a few days out of a week long trip. But then again, we are from the northeast and what feels warm to us may not feel so warm to others.

It depends on your comfort level. We picked our day to swim at BCV the coldest day of our trip in early November. The high temperature for the day was about 70 degrees. Kids loved the pool and were in it for hours. I never warmed up and settled for a book and a beach chair after about 20 minutes.

But definitely warmer than summertime swimming in the Puget Sound. :-)

Swimming in December?????

Well we swam here in Texas yesterday, today and we'll swim tomorrow as well.

By the way Dumbo's pool is kept at 85 degrees. Dumbo is not cheap with the heat. :thumbsup2

I should post some pictures. How do you add photos? I'd love to do some before and after photos.

y pool is being remodeled soon (2 weeks) to include a huge waterfall with sunk in grotto, waterslide and I'm adding 10 feet in length as well as a deep end. Can't wait.

Look out! Dumbo has gone third-person on us.

HBC is intrigued! :offtopic:

You guys are kiling me with this third person stuff. :thumbsup2

I didn't want to open this can of worms but Dumbo71 was the victim of identity theft. NOT from the Dis, breathe easier now. :teeth:

Luckily I'm so anal when it comes to money that I check all of my accounts daily. I caught it right away but it was still a mess to clear up.

This is why I'm so hesitasnt about sharing personal stuff. I would have even used an anonymizer to post to this site if it was allowed.

Sorry if Dumbo71 is so out there sometimes. I'm really not that crazy.

How can I post pictures of my pool? It would be cool to do a before and after shot.
