Hi there evryone, im hoping you can help me out here, i was wondering just one thing.
Is it fairly common for people to wear swim caps at the disney water parks?
My hubby and two boys LOVE water parks but unfortunately i have a condition that causes hair loss and im completely paranoid about it, i want to be able to relax and enjoy the fun of the water parks with them but be comfortable, so really i want to know if im likely to stick out really bad wearing a swim cap or if there are likely to be others wearing one?

Any feedback willo be greatly appreciated!! :flower3:

I've seen swim caps on people at Disney but more importantly there really are all types of people at Disney. You'll see just about everything so I wouldn't expect that a swim cap would be an issue at all. Someone will just assume that you have color-treated hair like mine and that you're avoiding the "Green Goddess" look from the chlorine. LOL!! Have fun and wear your swim cap with confidence! Susan

If I were you, I go enjoy myself and wear my prettiest swim cap!! There are so many people from all over the world there and everybody looks and dresses differently... so I don't think anyone would even give it a second thought. :flower3:

Go for the swim cap if that makes you comfortable. As a previous poster said, there are all types of people at Disney.

Really, I have seen a man in a nearly see-through yellow speedo while standing on the stairs so his patoot was very nearly in my face for a long time. I could see details. If that did not bother him, a bathing cap shouldn't be a big concern for you. Really, people are caught up in their own fun and families and probably will not even notice.

Have a great time!!!!!

I agree with everyone else. I've seen everything - and I mean everything - at Disney parks, water or theme. Wear the cap and have fun. Besides - are you ever going to see these people ever again in your life?

Yeah, that is the great thing about Disney, you won't know a soul! Wear you cap and enjoy the day!

I saw a lady at Blizzard Beach with one of those old-fashioned swim caps with the big multi-colored daisies all over it. It looked pretty cool. :thumbsup2 Don't worry about what others might think. There are many who visit the waterparks oblivious to their offense on other's sensibilites. Borat has nothing on some of those folks. :scared1:

I think I saw his cousin years ago at the pool at the Grovesnor.

I've seen some kids/teens with goggles and swim caps. Honestly, I wouldn't think twice if I saw someone with a swim cap, at WDW or anywhere else. I just assume the woman wearing it colors her hair and doesn't want her hair to turn green from the pool's abundant chlorine.

I say sport your swimcap and sport it with style!!! Really, no one will think twice about a person wearing a swimcap at a water park

Go for it!

I can't say that I can recall seeing someone with a swim cap on before. . . . but more than likely I just never really noticed! I don't think its something I would ever notice more than anything else.

Now the lady we saw that was wearing a thong bikini bottom showing all of us her rear- that got everyone's attention.:scared1:

Thanks so much everyone!!
I will wear it with pride and have the time of my life with my two boys:cheer2:

No one will even notice your swim cap, and if they do, they won't think a thing about it.

My 62yo mother wears a full wet-suit to TL & BB.

She is a two-time melanoma survivor & can't risk having her entire body exposed to the Florida sun.

My hair's been thinning for awhile, so I'm especially concerned about scalp burn. I MUST have my head covered at all times during the day when outside - especially in Florida. I plan to wear a bandana in the water parks, similiar to what I do while walking around the parks. Pull my hair back and completely cover my head with a traditional bandana. So no matter what you use to cover up your head, no one will even give it a second glance - they're having too much fun on the rides and slides!
