Already drooling just thinking about the wide array of food, but I'm not seeing (maybe I'm not looking hard enough) many threads on desserts. Isn't that the most important part of the food pyramid? Where are the best places for dessert, or snack sweets? French Pavilion pasteries, Hollywood Brown Derby Grapefruit Cake, Ghirardelli Soda Fountain, Beaches and Cream? Are these equal to their billing? Is there more?

Lots of great places for dessert in the World Showcase. The bakery in Norway (lefse, schoolbread, etc.), Germany (German chocolate cake), Italy (tirimasu and ricotta cheesecake), Mexico (churros, mmmmm)...basically anywhere in the WS you can get some really great desserts. And CAN'T forget abou the icecream at the plaza and the dole whips in Adventureland. :thumbsup2 Oh yeah and did I mention funnel cake in the America pavillion?? :rotfl:

In terms of desserts at TS restaurants, the milkshakes at Sci-Fi are great. DH has had some Jack Daniels cake (can't remember where from--either Yachtsman or Coral Reef) and we had creme brulee at a restaurant that used to be in the Comtemporary (Concourse Grill) that was really good as well.

Probably the only dessert I had and never liked was the flan in Mexico's San Angel Inn. I took a bite and didn't even take a second. It was flavorless, not what I expected at all.

i loved beaches and cream. and also the brownies at 50's prime time. don't forget the main street bakery and goody candy as well. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy

School Bread in Norway
Kaki Gori in Japan
Daim Bar - Norway
Curly Wurly - UK
S'more at Prime Time Cafe - DHS (We have ordered this in the bar instead of taking a table)
Chocolate Moose - Canada (Sometimes they will do a to go order.)
Dole - Magic Kingdom
FREE chocolate at Ghirardellis - Downtown Disney

We did a "Desserts Around the World" one year in Epcot.

My favorite dessert at a restaurant was the bread pudding at Ohana. Yum!

2 of my favorite places are the bakery in France & the bakery in Norway...here are some pics to make you hungry:

I'm not sure if it's my absolute favorite, but I loved the Maple Creme Brulee at Le Cellier. (and I'm actually a chocolate fanatic)!

And now that I think about it, I had a fantastic dessert sampler at Tutto Italia - I think it was a canoli, a piece of tiramisu, and something else - maybe a coffee flavored brulee?

I didn't really enjoy the grapefruit cake at Brown Derby, but I know it's pretty popular -- just not my thing, I guess.

HBD grapefruit cake - I don't need to have it again either!

OMGosh!!!!! What is this?! Was it good?!?! Whats in the middle?!?! OMGosh it looks delish!!!!

I don't know exactly what it was - can anyone help us out? It's called Raspberry Shuss, and it was HEAVENLY. It was almost like a cheesecake - tasted just like cheesecake but not as heavy...it had a layer of thin dark chocolate on the bottom, then the topping was a very tart raspberry jam-like filling. It had 2 thin layers of what tasted like a pound cake. It was dusted with powdered sugar. It was very rich, I couldn't have eaten another bite. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten in WDW!

Two of you have mentioned Dole Whips. I have no idea what that is.

Ask & ye shall receive....Dole Whip...

This was my 1st one....and possibly my last. It was good, but nothing great. It's soft serve vanilla & pineapple ice cream (actually isn't it low fat non-dairy or something like that?) in a dish.

I love the Main Street Bakery for the ice cream sandwich made with the cookies.

I also love the Bakery in Norway.

Ok, you asked, I deliver the motherload of sweet treats!

Tinkerbelle -- I love you. Can we plan a trip together?

In the meantime, I found a photo of 2 desserts from Tutto Italia -- I didn't even remember taking these (I have had no time to review my photos since we came back!). If I find any more, I'll post, but I'm usually not a food photo taker -- these must have seemed more worthy to me!

One is the trio sampler I talked about in my earlier post, the other was my kids' dessert. I can't really remember what that 3rd item in the sampler was - maybe a marscapone-based pudding?

I like the glazed walnuts from the snack cart in Epcot, churros from Cantina in Mexico, napoleans from the Boulangerie Patisserie and rice cream from the Norway bakery.

my fav. sweet snack was the sweet pretzels with almonds from norway. Me and my mom prob had 4 of them on our week long trip in 07.
