Sweet Sixteen on the Dream! The Good, the Bad, and the Crazy!

OMG!!!! My daughter would EXPLOOOOODE, if she got to meat Ratatouille. I hope that he will be on the ship in September.

Totally enjoying your TR!! That stinks about your stateroom host...it sounds like you made the best of a bad situation. Keep those pics coming! I'm getting geared up for our Dream sailing in Dec for my birthday!!:yay:

Thanks! Yeah, we did just try to make the best of it, and certainly not let him or the situations ruin our long awaited 16th birthday celebration!!

Thanks for the mini Atlanta TR! So much of it looked so familiar, you know, since I just wrote about it myself and all ;)

I know :thumbsup2, I'm loving your TR, too!
I'm curious, how much extra was the dolphin show? DH was so irritated that it was an upcharge that he wouldn't even let me check on it

You guys look great dressed for dinner!

Thanks!

It was an extra $13 per person. My DD loves dolphins and we just had heard of the new exhibit so we were excited to go. We did enjoy it & everything, but $13, JUST for the show????? That's too much. I think the show lasted maybe 30 minutes. The viewing area where the dolphins are swimming around, is open to everyone, so the $13 is for the show only. I'm sure if we go back that we won't pay that much to see the show again, but I'm glad we checked it out. Is was an OK show, but nothing compared to Sea World dolphin shows!

OMG!!!! My daughter would EXPLOOOOODE, if she got to meat Ratatouille. I hope that he will be on the ship in September.

I hope he's there too!! He should be. It's kinda funny, that we have never even seen that movie, but I thought he was so cute, and it turned out to be one of my favorite pictures. I have got to rent that movie soon!!

Our first night's dinner was at:
DisneyDream2011186-1.jpg

We loved it!! It was so cute with Crush and a few other characters interacting with everyone. We were not close enough to a screen, so we didn't get any "attention" from Crush.

I loved how they paired us with other "compatible" tablemates. We sat at a table for 8, but there was only 6 of us, so we had the extra space/chairs, to put our purses, etc. on. Along with me & DD, there was another 15 year old traveling alone with her Grandma, and 2 18 year olds that just graduated. They were all nice and we all chatted and got along really well! I have a pic of all of us at our table on another night, but that will be later in the TR.

We both had salads.
(Tip: If you want a "house" salad, and not all the fancy stuff, just ask for a plain salad. It's not on the menu, but you can get it. I had this every night with dinner.)

DisneyDream2011201-1.jpg

DD's pasta "something"?????

DisneyDream2011202-1.jpg

Mine: This is listed on the "healthier options" at the botton of the menu. I know it looks plain, but it's really good!!! Baked chicken breast & baked potato.

DisneyDream2011203-1.jpg

After finishing with dinner (and skipping dessert ), DD wanted to go back to Vibe for some kind of scheduled activity. So I told her to go ahead, and I'd stay.
Please don't call the etiquette police on me!!!:rotfl2:

I got a dessert but don't remember what & didn't take a picture. I was chatting with the Grandma for a while.

There's something that seemed to be a common factor A LOT during the cruise: Just when me & DD would split up, either she or I would come across a great photo opportunity with characters!!:headache: We each got some pics with characters throughout the cruise, without each other!!Here's a couple examples. After dinner, this is who she came upon:

DisneyDream2011204-1.jpg

After I finished dinner, I ran into these guys:

DisneyDream2011208.jpg

I was kinda sad that DD wasn't with me for these pics!! But I was OK with it becasue I wanted her to hang out with the teens, which I really didn't think she would do, since she's kinda shy!

Since I was by myself, I decided to go back to the room and find out what my plans would be. Arriving to our room, the stateroom host had transferred the couch into a single bed.

DisneyDream2011209-1.jpg

And found a cute towel animal.
DisneyDream2011210-1.jpg

I decided to go check out the District, Evolution, etc. (Adult only areas)

Passed by D Lounge
DisneyDream2011211.jpg

These are the COOLEST bathrooms ever!!!!! If you're going on this cruise anytime in the future, you have to go check them out!!

The bathrooms are ROUND!! (Yes, these types of things amaze me!!:lmao:)

As I came to Evolution (night club), I stayed there for a while. It was pretty fun, even though I was by myself!

I really enjoyed doing stuff by myself. Out of all the cruises we've been on, this is the first time DD has actually went to the any of the "clubs" for her age group, so I was worried that I would not want to do anything by myself, but I LOVED it!!

After hanging out in there for a while, I take a few pics on my way back to the room

I decided to go ahead and order some room service so DD would have something to eat when she got back:

Coming up Next: Castaway Cay!!

You're not the only one who thinks those round bathrooms are cool!! I can't wait to see those!! I'm loving all these new parts of the ship that I've never seen before!!

I'm glad that you decided to go out for a little but by yourself and had a good time!!:thumbsup2

LOVE the updates. I am so hungry now looking at the food.
I never saw Remy as a character before. I wish we would've saw him on the ship, though I don't know if DD would've stood next to a rat. :rotfl2:

Great update! I'm glad your DD like the Vibe, Justin never even stepped foot in the door, he was too busy playing pick up basketball games on the sports deck - he lived up there!

I thought the round bathrooms were cool too! Guess we are all easily excited

Another great update. Some how I missed the Ratatouille photo, I've NEVER seen him. So cute.

I'm with you...I like to do things alone...can't wait till my kids are both big enough to stay in oceanears club by themselves...my next two cruises...my 3yr old will get to go to club and my 1yr old will be with me most of time or in nursery.

One of the reasons I am doing the dream...is to meet Remy...yes I know..but I missed the opportunity at Pixar Weekend at DHS because it was raining and rats don't like to get wet. so he was no where to be found..along with his brother. love that there's alot more characters on this ship.

Just now joining in! It's been a great report so far, and I can't wait to read more. Your DD is gorgeous!

On this Castaway Cay day, we didn't really have an excursion or anything planned. We decided to just go with the flow and hang out at the island for a while.

First, we went to Cabanas for a heart-healthy breakfast:rolleyes1 with a great view: (For anyone that hasn't been on the Dream yet: Yes, those are ACTUAL Krispy Kreme donuts!!!!!!! :cloud9: )

We had lots of fun, but the water was pretty cold. I didn't think it would be that cold in JUNE, but it wasn't too bad as long as you "eased" yourself into the water...slowly!:rotfl:

After being in the water for a while, we decide to go to Cookies BBQ

Coming up: More of Castaway Cay. And I know you all think this is a Mom/Daughter only TR, but I failed to tell you about a little "companion" hanging around in my bag...........................

Really enjoying your TR! You and your DD look like you have so much fun together. She is so pretty. Also, we had booked an 11C GTY and were also assigned a handicappped room (although we don't need one) for our upcoming cruise next week so I loved seeing the photos of your room..looks like we'll have lots of space from your photos!

Coming up: More of Castaway Cay. And I know you all think this is a Mom/Daughter only TR, but I failed to tell you about a little "companion" hanging around in my bag...........................

Loving your updates, can't wait to see who your companion is :)

Let me tell you about my traveling companion hiding in my bag. Is everyone familiar with the fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A??? Well, our local Chick-fil-A always has fun activities, contests, get togethers, kids activities, something always going on, etc... Well they are holding a "Mini-Moo-Cow Vacation Contest". You go to the restaurant and pick up a mini-moo-cow and take him with you on vacation. You take a picture and submit it for the contest. The winner gets free Chick-fil-A for a year!! Only thing is, you can only submit one picture. So I took my little cow with me, carrying him in my bag, keeping my eye out for some photo opportunities. Here's some of the pics I took:

DisneyDream2011279.jpg

DisneyDream2011274.jpg

I had thought of submitting this one, until I noticed the "photo bomber" in the background!:rotfl:

DisneyDream2011489.jpg

DisneyDream2011485.jpg

DisneyDream2011482.jpg

This is the one I decided to submit. We may not win, but it was pretty fun getting those pictures. So everytime we went anywhere, my little cow was hanging out in my bag, waiting for the perfect photo op!:lmao:

DisneyDream2011484.jpg

We did this one year at Disney World with "my Mom". Gramma happens to look like Merriwether (The Blue Fairy from Sleeping Beauty) so we found a little one just the size of your moo cow and she got in a lot of pictures. Aurora even cuddled her. Jungle Cruise, Everest, pool, etc. We then gave her the pictures in a special book. It was great.

I hope you win.
